That was funny how you were so alone and then suddenly in the town with all the tourists. That town looked crazy busy. Can't begin to imagine what it's like to live there. Will definitely rewatch all your UK videos when I get back to the UK (and hopefully tour around in a motorhome). So crazy to me that you can walk on paths to so many places.
Thanks Karen for another amusing and enjoyable video. It’s been great to follow your travels. Quite inspiring, not only your van drives but also the way you shoot and edit your videos. Always great quality.
I really enjoy your videos Karen, they are so entertaining and this one is as good as the others. I do admire what you have done while being in the uk, driving a caravan all around England by yourself is quite an achievement, I’m not sure I’d want to do the same thing, it’s bad enough sometimes just driving a car, never mind towing a caravan. I like that when you go for walks your quite adventurous, taking paths that may not be paths but you keep going and you keep smiling and you always seem to enjoy you adventure. I think a lot of people take the history of the uk for granted, we live with it all the time and probably don’t take much notice of it, I think it’s beneficial to have visitors like yourself who point out the history to remind us how interesting our local history is. I can’t believe only one person turned up in London, it would have been terrible if they hadn’t, thankfully it seems you had a good time anyway and good for that Lady to not let you down. Like I said at beginning, a very entertaining video, thanks Karen.
I bet your going to enjoy being home in your own caravan. I truly have enjoyed all your videos and look forward to future videos. I bet your family will be excited you have back in New Zealand. Get some good rest and enjoy being home! See you in your future videos!

Nice video and helpful too, as currently in the new forest on holiday and was about to research a walking app, when you suggested one, “all trails”. Looks a good one so have downloaded it, hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and thank you 👍

Hats off to your chutzpah K; early in your trip you had a baptism of fire in The Lakes that has, sadly but predictably, coloured your driving experience since. I can but admire you taking on our roads with such a bug "rig", something I've never done. BTW: Typical knight of the road at 07:08 (not!).

My concern was that you'd conflate a bad towing experience with a bad visit to our country, but your posts have shown that this isn't the case... by an historic country mile :-).
Great video Karen. It's been a few years but I recognised your bit from the M40 on to the M25 near Heathrow. It's always pot luck if the M25 is going to be moving or standing still when you join it!
another great video K! I've really enjoyed following your UK adventure. we went to look at some caravans this weekend but struggling to narrow it down, front runners are swift sprite or bailey phoenix. its going to be a hard decision.
Thanks for the tip about the Alltrails app. I have downloaded it to my Iphone and I am sure it will prove to be very useful as I like exploring walking trails. I have never been to Bibury but I've heard it is very touristy.
Hi Karen, interesting video. UK country scenery is absolutely awesome. So much greenery there. Did you catch a ride on a double deck bus to London? All the very best. Robert.

Good content fwiw, imo. As far as I would happily want to go near to London City itself towing a caravan for pleasure. After a while you get used to "commanding" the road with a larger rig but pleasure v work:). The history is nice there with public rights of way sometimes dating back to Saxon times in a soft Constable scenery and Pubs that have seen people falling off barstools since long before Captain Cook:)
Another interesting insight K, thank you! I am another of the ‘hate London with a passion brigade’ I’m afraid and it just seems to get worse, busier, frantic even. So we try to stay well clear of the big stuff and also stick to CL’s or Tranquil sites (adults only mostly). Cheers, Rog... 😉 😎 🐍
Watching that, having driven in Germany ,Spain, Japan , the Middle East and all over the US. I say that the traffic there looks like a lot of traffic in the bigger US cities. We in the US do have the perchance for making ridiculously large highway interchanges. The super highway near me was 4 lanes (2 a side) when I moved in. Its a 1/4 mile from me. Over the years its grown to 6 lanes and the interchange near me is about 12 lanes wide. I can hear it loud and clear now.

Hi Karen, great video, honestly you are so inspiring driving around UK with a caravan.....looks like you are really enjoying it though....can I just ask you what you use to record your videos when you are walking about - many thanks and best wishes Catherine :)
It says "restricted byway". That just means that motorised vehicles are no longer allowed. You are fine walking it, or cycling it, or riding a horse down it.
Bibury looked a very quaint little village despite all the visitors. I wouldnt even attempt to drive too close to London never mind trying to tow a caravan lol
Love your travels, just to let you know your driving on the wrong side of the road and the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car! A fan from across the pond
if the Restricted access sign you mentioned was that restricted byway sign it just means you can't drive a vehicle down it but you used to be aloud to (probably in a tractor or proper off-road 4x4). Basically just to warn people with really old maps
I've taken a trailer through Los Angeles twice. Never again. I'd rather take a 100 mile detour. Greater London? Not a chance in... I applaud your nerve, Karen.
Travelling K There are red squirrels on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour in Dorset, on Anglesey, the Isle of Wight, good places to spot them are Ventnor Botanical Gardens and Osbourne House, which was Queen Victoria’s holiday home, the Lake District, Cumbria and Northumberland. The grey squirrels carried a pox which infected the reds, plus they compete for the same food and habitat and the reds being smaller, tend to loose out. The islands of Brownsea, Anglesey and the Isle of Wight are free from greys, so the reds can thrive. I like them both, but having been lucky enough to have red squirrels come and sit beside me on the Isle of Wight, the reds are very special to me! I’m really enjoying your videos, I’m working my way through your NZ ones too!
Don't by-pass the Avebury stones on your tour. That is not far away (36 miles) from where you are now and once you see those stones, it will stay in your mind forever.
Wow! All those little cars whizzing around you. Nobody drives "pick em up" trucks in the UK? That would be another big difference to towing a camper in North America.
@@TravellingK Yes, a UTE is like a small pickup truck. However, a lot of the large campers here are "fifth wheels" and require a larger truck and a massive hitch bolted down to the middle of the truck bed. Those fifth wheel campers are HUGE, and the trucks that you need to haul them are big monsters, compared to a UTE. You really should come see them for yourself.
@d0rraj no just little race track i drive ever road in new zealand over 5 years so i no how the uk is so shit to drive in for you even the river road from Whanganui its easy there two many people in the uk for the space
So stressed and dangerous the aggressive traffic. Horror. And all the mindless egotistic behavior. So off-putting. Such a bad traffic culture. Is it only in the big cities or is it all over the nation ?

I’d been warned about the M25!
Gotta tell ya miss k .. them traffic lights at roundaboots are super special ...😁pip pips and carryon
Just a little different 🤣
You drove about half a mile past my house!!! I live where Dan lives. Btw ive never seen a red squirrel either
Really! Crazy close. A shame the red squirrels are disappearing like that.
Hi Karen, great video, honestly you are so inspiring driving around UK with a caravan.....looks like you are really enjoying it though....can I just ask you what you use to record your videos when you are walking about - many thanks and best wishes Catherine :)
I use a Sony A6000 but find it’s not great with stabilisation for too much walking!
Travelling K thanks 🙏 Karen
I thought you were coming to UK for just 3 months. So are you planning to stay longer?
I’ve just got home 😀 But filmed so much the UK videos will be out for a while!
It says "restricted byway". That just means that motorised vehicles are no longer allowed. You are fine walking it, or cycling it, or riding a horse down it.
Oh, good to know!!
i live in the UK and i would never even dream of towing in central London .
@Brian;K is always damn the torpedoes.
Brian Clarke she went nowhere near central London...
Spencer Wilton an hours walk from Kingston she was close enough
Spencer Wilton
She went to Surrey lol 😂😂😂. Anywhere within the M25 is London to some people 😂😂😂
I wasn’t aware central London was in Surrey ?
Salem je suis un algérien votre camping 🏕️🏕️❤️ très jolie vlog net vous êtes vraiment very Nice bonne chance enchallah
Bibury looked a very quaint little village despite all the visitors. I wouldnt even attempt to drive too close to London never mind trying to tow a caravan lol
Such a cute town - I can see why it’s so popular!
Great video :)
Glad you enjoyed this one!
Love your travels, just to let you know your driving on the wrong side of the road and the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car! A fan from across the pond
🤣 And I experience right hand side driving soon too!
if the Restricted access sign you mentioned was that restricted byway sign it just means you can't drive a vehicle down it but you used to be aloud to (probably in a tractor or proper off-road 4x4). Basically just to warn people with really old maps
Ahh that's good to know!
nice goin m8!
come to the lizard, cornwall
Is the lizard an area?
Walton on Thames is a nice area
A good base 😀
👌
Just a quick question, how come your navigation software gives distances in imperial units, instead of metric?
Maybe setup for UK driving?
I've taken a trailer through Los Angeles twice. Never again. I'd rather take a 100 mile detour. Greater London? Not a chance in... I applaud your nerve, Karen.
Oh I imagine Los Angeles would be challenging!!
I bet you can't wait to get back to NZ.
Just got back and it’s been nice 😀
Not a lot of red squirels in england if any, lots in Scotland.
James Mackay And they are mostly BLACK in CANADA, , Cheers from NJ USA
Oh, glad they’re still in Scotland!
Get off the beaten track? Come to the Rockies.
In the US?
Don't by-pass the Avebury stones on your tour. That is not far away (36 miles) from where you are now and once you see those stones, it will stay in your mind forever.
Sorry! 36miles south of Bibury.
Ah if I had more time there... sounds epic!
👍
Wow! All those little cars whizzing around you. Nobody drives "pick em up" trucks in the UK? That would be another big difference to towing a camper in North America.
Is a pick em up truck a Ute? I only noticed a couple at the campgrounds. More common in NZ!
10:10 *1460 Way before New Zealand Invented !*
So much history in the UK
Alberta..Jasper, Banff!
A restricted byway is still a right of way, but with restrictions (ie no motor vehicles).
Yeah, walking on them is fine.
Oh good - glad I was allowed to walk there 😀
yep new zealand is better to live in the traffic is tiny do not go m25 in peck hours it like race track
@d0rraj no just little race track i drive ever road in new zealand over 5 years so i no how the uk is so shit to drive in for you even the river road from Whanganui its easy there two many people in the uk for the space
I experienced M25 again and travel was at a crawl the whole time 🤣
What on earth is the deal with that bizarre roundabout?
Haha there were a few strange things about it!!
I saw on another video that you are allowed to walk on private land in the uk as long as you close gates behind you
Oh I’ll have a look!
I’m a lorry driver and I hate London with a passion. People there are so selfish.
Not many vehicles that ive been while in London even cycled across it which wasn't as bad as driving in it even done it on L plates now that was scary
Don’t think I could have handled driving closer...
the UK has an interesting RIGHT TO TRAVEL' ' LAW. LOOK IT UP.....
Ah nice!
be careful karen! wondering the english country side is not a safe as it used to be,.there are alot of dodgy caricatures about these days be safe.
Ah that’s a shame to hear!
It is NOT Bibury ? It is pronounced Bi - bury = I know I was born there. Enjoy
Hehe I’m not surprised I pronounced it wrong 🤣
So stressed and dangerous the aggressive traffic. Horror. And all the mindless egotistic behavior. So off-putting. Such a bad traffic culture. Is it only in the big cities or is it all over the nation ?
Overall I’ve been impressed with how patient people have been when the caravan slowed them down.
you get accustomed to flocks of tourist, like birds , only not as intelligent............., but most dont shit on your roof. .
Great video
