I think it was legit, seeing him play Alex with all his original weapon skins and him laughing when spawning in those brawlers tells me they had that idea for a good chunk of the games development. Edit: Watching more it looks like the animations to bring out weapons are using the new skins that are used for his boss in this game (then switch back to the skins of the first game when you get back control), they look exactly the same to a mod I use in the first game that make Alex's weapons and traversal trail look more like the trailers, so the second game is probably where that person got the skins lol.

There's a debug mod, it turns out that Mercer was going to be playable along side Heller in the second game but it was scrapped. You can access Mercer with the debug menu mod and most of his attacks from the first game are in tact. That's also why voice work not from the first game is included like with the brawler attacks.
