    Excellent comparison video.
    I find your professional reviews refreshing compared to those trying to be more entertainer then reviewer.

    I have the J7+ those features on the other machine's app sounds useful but it is the obstacle avoidance for me a value the most. It really takes the automated hoover to the next level

      I actually replaced my S7 with a J7 + M6 Combo. Pros and cons for both, but ultimately obstacle avoidance, support and price were the winners for me. Roborock support is sketchy.

    Thank you for your great videos, wish you got more views! My S5 is still going strong, but it's long enough in the tooth that i wonder.

    They should have added some kind of carpet boost to the J7 that would have made it clean better and solved leaving debris on the base.

    What would you suggest more of the two for a home withut carpet and you mostly need a good vacums that cleans efficiently

    Hello. I would like to buy a robot vacuum and mop. Do you have any recommendations please? I do not want to buy something useless that does not clean and mop properly. Cleaning efficiency is key to me. Smart features such as self emptying and self cleaning are not essential. I just want something that takes cleaning and vacuum work off me. There are various Black Friday offers now on Roomba and Ecovacs, Eufy etc but none on Roborock, however if needed I would still buy a Roborock. Please can you help.?Thank you !

    Seems like Roomba has made very incremental improvements despite being around the longest, while other robot vacs like Xiaomi, Dream, etc have made significant improvements with spinning brushes self-cleaning.

    My two S5s are going strong with some minor maintenance issues (replaced the battery on oldest). Am hoping Roborock can match the Roomba’s roller design at some point-the S7 roller with blades instead of brushes is a start. Am hoping both can make it to S10 or beyond announced.

      The new brush fits but you'll need to cut the two metal bars on the brush guard

      Roomba dual brush design is patented until 2023.

    • @texasdavid9764
      @texasdavid9764 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshuaWolfeMallow not much longer then, and the dual roller design can be incorporated into other brands. 😊 IRobot’s intransigence on the navigation strategy will be their Achilles heel until it changes. I tried a top end iRobot device before the Roborock purchases and returned it. The Roomba never finished cleaning the open concept main living area once over two weeks. Some aspects, such as the roller design and vacuum function, were vast improvements over the one I had in early 2000s. But the navigation was just as bad as the original bump and go of early models at a much higher price point.

      If Roomba would use LIDAR then they would be great. Until then Roborock is the best in my opinion.

    After 2 years of using the J7 I am quite disappointed. Cleaning is ok. The first map left out some corners and never corrected it, however it is vacuuming this area. For months now it doesn’t recognize obstacles anymore. Extensive research didn’t solve the problem. iRobot support never responded.

    I think these general tests have their limitations. Roomba deals much better with dog hair in my experience (also shown at 8:30). Similarly a front facing camera is a major feature if one’s home is often messy (kids etc). In your particular setup though that is probably not needed. In my particular use case that J7 will be much better.

  • @Mike-gz4xn
    @Mike-gz4xn ปีที่แล้ว

    big difference is the base of the Roomba clears out its content much better than the roborock. Also the forward facing camera is a great addition not apart of the roborock.

      @@kyleworel4368 why would I pick up my own poo?
      The poo is there because I am an opportunistic pooer.

    Honestly I would prefer more cleaning accuracy than better avoiding obstacles like roomba do. J7 is the worst robot ever had. I miss my Xiaomi who preformed 3x times better that overrated and too expensive roomba!
