Notice that blind ibn taymiyya followers might say he was an athari following the salaf. No he was not. Ppl misconstrue the true athari way and the pseudo salafi way (believing Allah is in a direction/place and has physical limits and literal hands face shin etc...) As for ashari and maturidi, they summarized beliefs thst originated from the time of the salaf. The true sunni way is that of the atharis/asharis/maturidis (for aqeedah) and the four schools of fiqh and the genuine sufi orders (not fake pseudo sufis) this is all together sunni/ahlus sunnah islam.

In the Muslim world, the Hanafis are Maturidi, the Shafi'is, Malikis and Hanbalites are Ash'ari. Some Hanbalites were Pseudo-Salafi like Ibn Taimiyyah and his student Ibn Qayyim. Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab took the teachings of Ibn Taimiyyah and made his own mazhab, Wahhabism. They declared they are Salaf, but they're actually Neo-Pseudo-Salafi with different creed.

Yet they always get annoyed when you tell them that. I've read a book called 'confessions of a British spy' and that basically tells you everything about how the Wahhabism movement came about. I've seen a few videos where they say that the people who follow the Maturidi and Ash'ari in creed spread 'bid'ah' and how they 'don't follow the Aqeedah of Ahle sunnah wal Jammat'.

There's both views among the ulema about Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. One's harsh about his mistakes and one's lenient (in that it believes he was mostly in the right so a great scholar of ahl sunnah, though made some mistakes which should not be followed). Among the scholars who believed the latter are Al-Suyuti, Mulla Ali al-Qari, al-Nabhani and recently many shuyukhs like Ramadan al-Bouti, may Allah have mercy on all of them.

A lot of misinformation here. And huge slander against one of the biggest defenders of the Sunnah in Islamic history. ibn Taymiyyah did not consider the Asharis kuffar, in fact he considered them brothers in Sunni Islam, and even praised many of the Ashari/Azhari scholars, including the ones who got him arrested and jailed. ibn Taymiyyah also didn't just "come along" with a new belief, he was following the Athari school of aqeedah, which is arguably older than both the Ashari and Maturidi schools, and was the majority school of aqeedah in the Ummah for quite a while. May Allah elevate the ranks of ibn Taymiyyah and help us love the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) as much as he did

No, but guess what - the Islamic sciences developed over time i.e. fiqhi madhabs, schools of tasawwuf, hadith sciences, etc. The salaf didn't need such developed sciences as they either had direct contact with the Prophet ﷺ or the first three generations.

Well you are the liar sir. Your comment also shows that you lack basic knowledge. Read at least “talbis al jahmiyyah” volume 2. Ibn Taymiyahs aqeedah was that Allah has limits, directions, weight and body. If that is no anthropomorphism than we can through language and intellect out the basket. Unfortunately pseudo salafis don’t even learn their own sheikhs let alone the true salafi aqeedah.
