Intellectuals regardless of their political orientation should be offered stable academic positions.

Great class sir. Thanks. Equality in Hindu dharma is regarded to spiritual identity. Each and every living being even animals, plants and minerals all r in fact atma. As atma all are same. Body is regarded to its karma and is all temporary.

The Hindutva movement is fanatically against "caste", it has always been that way ever since it's very inception.
I am surprised that Dr. Elst doesn't say so.
Even Tilak who preceded the movement, and certainly wasn't a social reformer, in a certain way worked towards the mingling of "castes" in his starting the public celebrations of Ganapati and Shivaji.

I'm surprised nobody talks about it. Not even the politicians.

@@PrashantSingh-rr5iu the point they prove, though an exception today, as konread mentions, is that hinduism can exist sans caste. It has, in the past, and it will, in the future.

Shri.Koenard is one of those few who can defend sanatana dharma successfully ,as a hindu iam greatful to him

  • @hajarmatveeva

He said:"Equality is incompatible with Sanatana Dharma". And he also said: "Caste is not the essense of Hinduism". Isn't this a contradiction? Or he's taking about two different religions? Maybe he's ok with abolishing the caste but agree with subjugation of women (and "avraaatyas" who do not belong to any caste and considered worse than Shudras)?

    Equality under the law !
    We dont all evolve equally
Why two kids in primary school
    Grow up
1 is a doctor the other a rickshaw driver ?
Equalizing the unequal is the greatest equality

Keshav Singh they are poor and illiterate people. For them religion don’t matter any more. Our social and political system kept them poor and illiterate. One can choose any religion on their will. Religion has nothing to lose if some one converts to other religion. May be their life gets changed after that if not they can opt for some other religion also.
Our effort should be to change our social and political system. Religion doesn’t matter, christianity is too much regressive in every aspect, but look at the societies of the christian countries.

@@trepde Yes, they have exploited other countries well according to the christian teachings of "christian discovery" and such. No shame in that, we should also set aside our teachings of karma and sacrifice and start exploiting others so we can get richer :)
