In Pixar’s “Turning Red,” Mei’s mother Ming had a heartbreaking story of her own that really helped to explain her character’s personality better. Despite trying her best to be a good daughter, Ming ended up doing something that hurt her family and shook up her entire life. Ming’s childhood shaped her into a woman who wanted nothing more than to be a good mother and to have her daughter get the best she could out of life. But somewhere down the line, she became the very thing that she never wanted to be, and in turn, almost pushed her daughter away from her forever.

My mom was treated poorly by her Mom so, she ended up becoming very controlling and Angry. I'm glad that she doesn't have a Red Panda spirit. 😅

I thought ah the women who showed up were her sisters? Because it's completely possible to come from and be raised by the same person under the same roof and come out with very different different personalities and traumas or lack there of. Since have mings people pleasing attitude, since just wouldn't care that their mother was less than satisfied with their life like the other women seemed to be.
Unfortunately they’re not her sisters. Two of them are her aunts, and the other two are her cousins.
I still need to watch this. Looks so neat.
Be ready to inadvertently or on purpose to play the 4town songs on repeat for the first month or so after 😂 or you may dislike them, which would be sad but I can see how they could be cringe for some but they’re meant to be the cliche 😂
I'm wondering if there's going to be a second movie
My theory: they got in the big argument about jin and they both say some crazy things to each other. Eventually, Wu slaps Ming across the face, saying if she doesn’t stay away from jin, she’ll be sent away to boarding school, Ming snaps, starts angrily muttering “i-i h-h-HATE YOUUUUUU”, turns into her red panda, and Ming slaps Wu across the face, her claws scratching her eye. Ming looks horrified, turns back to normal, then runs away in tears.
