    Two things:
    1. The *ting* "are you happy now" had me R O L L I N G! 😂 Perfect.
    2. Respect to them for having a lyric "you dummies only live on the internet" hahaha.
Anyway. This was great. An absolute "fuck all you internet haters" kinda song. The attitude is amazing. And it's so true - some people will not be smart enough to catch onto the lyrics. This was great. I loved it.

seen a lot of people complaining that the lyrics are cringe, but i don’t know, if i had to deal with people constantly telling me my dead band mate would hate me for a change in music and had people rushing the stage to say that to my face, i think the dudes are allowed to be as cringe as they want. sam has spoken about in interviews that they want to move on and heal and write songs about different topics and not just doom and gloom. feel like the lyrics are a pretty good expression of that sentiment and the frustration of having people poke you with a stick and being like “do the blegh”
been a fan since hollow crown came out, and i’ve dug the last two albums. TTWTE more so than HH even. this chorus is gonna be insane live.

Tom _may_ not be as pleased of their new writing style, but he'd sure as hell be proud that they're continuing this musical path to this day. Respect Tom Searle, haters, and shut the fuck up.

The look Sam gives the camera during the breakdown says it all. The fact they made a stereotypical “metalcore” song and it still being better than most modern octane core is a testament to how great they are as musicians. Objectively their last album was super heavy just not in the traditional sense to the likings of most of the whiners. Always enjoy y’all’s content, a breath of fresh air in the reacting world.

I'm a "new" fan, I think, 'cause I discovered Architects with their last album (The Classic Symptoms...). To be precised, the first song I've heard from them was "When we were young", and I loved it. So I explored more and more (especially by listening all of their albums), and I was on the ride. I really can't understand the people who complains 'cause a band they love evolve. It's part of life. It's only logic that the music is not the same as when they began (and it's the same for Parkway Drive).
So yeah, I love this new one, and I can't wait to see what they're going to give us !
Thanks for the reaction, guys, have a nice day

You are very right in what you write. No one has the right to expect a band to make the music they want. I love the old albums, but I won't disdain the newer ones either. However, I once read a wise thing on the Internet that I unfortunately have to agree with: Not many bands can make an album on the level of Lost Forever / Lost Together, but very many bands in this genre can make an album on the level of For Those That Wish To Exist or The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit. Nevertheless, I believe that a band must have the freedom to record whatever they want and no one has the right to expect different music and even less to criticize.

I'm not going to pretend the last 1-2 albums of Architects have been my favourites. Yes, I absolutely prefer their older stuff. But, the unnecessary hate this band has gotten, simply for evolving their sound is ridiculous. I actually only started 'liking' and listening to Architects when "All Our Gods.." was released, then I went back and listened to their earlier stuff. This song, is ABSOLUTELY one of my favourites they have done in recent times, and I'm intrigued in what they will produce next! I think my favourite part about this band, is how they are true to themselves and stand their ground!

@@TheRagingRaynoh, you mean the album they basically forced themselves to make so they could do a tribute to their dead bandmate?
Genuinely, one of the most boring albums of their entire career.
They clearly needed to move on and not dwell on it.
Hell, bands like Misery Signals dealt with tremendous loss and it almost ended them.
So I personally don't get people like you who try to act like Architects or any other band FORCED to change owes them repetitive, half hearted, half assed albums of the same exact shit for decades.
Honestly? Don't like it, then stop listening. It's super easy: don't follow the band and ignore the output. Cause they wrote this song about people like you, not just the ones who send them death threats.
You only listen to heavy music, we get it.
This will be an outlier, guaranteed. Your hope they regress is incredibly shallow.

Since them I've really enjoyed all that OG fans might term "newer stuff" but I'm yet to try their first few releases. I consider myself a fan now because of their work since FTTWTE.

I've been a fan of Architects since Hollow Crown. There are some songs that i enjoy more than other, but at this point they could start sounding like country music and i will still love it at the end of the day. I think they are very genuine and amazing, they stay true to themselves and that is what i personally value the most! ❤ And it pisses me of to hear and read the shit people are saying about them, There are seriously low levels of empathy and understanding! Even if you don't like newer stuff - don't listen, move on or keep listening to older songs! Don't start lashing out with very personal and offensive comments. There are enough shit going on in our world and music (or any other kind of art) is the one thing that still keeps us all a little bit more sane.

I‘m in since „nightmares“ 2006, and I‘m still open for new music from them. I really like seeing red for sure! But they had a lot more different styles then people think, and this makes them so versatile and professional. The band telling fans who sit on the Internet bitching that they aren't heavy and Sam basically saying "We can do heavy, but that shit's boring. Like.. you. You're boring. And predictable. And now I just do this live 🤷'
They're not going 'back' to this style. They're not going 'back' to anything.

I became a fan in 2020, I really don't know old Architects, heard the ballad Heartburn and a few others, but I am a fan of all the recent albums. People like to bitch and tell artists how to create art, we've seen it with the changes in Van Halen, Metallica, All That Remains, BMTH, Korn, etc. I dig this song, I grew up listening to metal, and a lot of death/black metal like Cannibal Corpse, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Fear Factory, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Testament, etc. and sort of grew out of songs that are all grit and growl, I like a good blend of melodic vocals and grit, with few exceptions like Pantera and Sepultura, but song sticks with the recent style even being heavier, sprinkles some growls, but isn't a total 180. But even if is was the next Hatebreed song, and I happened to not care for it, I still would have kept my mouth shut, because I am not forced to listen to it and can jam what I already have, do as you please Architects. I am sure painters generally paint what the fuck they want and not what others pressure them to.

I enjoyed this song more then the previous couple of albums I wont lie there but I just shrugged it off and moved onto the next song. no point attacking a band over it

As a fan of the band since one of their most polemic albums (The Here And Now) I think this is brilliant and cool but at the same time hilarious. They literally turned a joke about their haters into a song a they’re making money out of it haha do I like it? ABSOLUTELY, heavy Architects is brilliant and always needed, do I like their previous albums? OF COURSE. They’ve reached the point where they can do whatever they want and kick ass. Thanks for existing Architects.

The Here And Now is overly hated for sure, Day In Day Out absolutely slaps! Heartburn is a good ballad, Delete, Rewind is great and BTN has one of my all time favourite lyrics of theirs! “You’ve got a hold on me, like a constant need inside for nicotine”

In my eyes, now seeing this, the last 2 albums were them testing a new style, so they could create a new one when mixing it with their older style. I love this song already, I found Architects from Royal Beggars coming up on Apple Radio one day, and they’re my metalcore ‘home’. I may have bigger favourites (Polaris is #1, Currents is a current hehe favourite), but like Slipknot is the foundation for my music tastes for my life, Architects are my foundation for my reinvigorated love for metalcore. My only ‘issue’, is that I hope this isn’t the outlier on the new album, and that the rest of it has that same ‘old and new’ style that this song has. Other than that, love it, love the tongue in cheek “You wanted heavy, we’re giving you heavy” to majority of the fans (obviously it is actually directed at the ones who abused them)

    • @nolankuffner3573
      @nolankuffner3573 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Nah, it's absolutely going to be an outlier.
Sam doesn't need to do this style anymore.
      He can do it live.
      He DOES go heavy live.
And if 'fans' (aka people who listen for free in the Internet who have never spent a dime on the band, music, merch, or shows) want the old shit.. keep doing what you're doing.
      Free on the Internet.
Or prove you're not just a demanding little shit and pay for it. They still play TONS of old songs live. Not that any of those 'haters' would know that.

    • @AyyFuji
      @AyyFuji 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@nolankuffner3573 So be it if it’s an outlier, just my personal theory. Donny get me wrong, I’m a newer fan, but I like all their music, just at different levels, and prefer the older stuff, but have no problem at all with the new style.

I got introduced to Architects with their song Broken Cross and have listened to them since. I love the sound they had back then and I love the sound they have now. To tap into something y'all mentioned, music gets boring over time. If you play the same style of music for as long as Architects has been around, you kinda get bored, and you also start to hit a wall. You try coming up with new material and you're like no because that sounds too similar to what I did on the last album or even 3 songs ago. So they changed their sound a little and seem happier with their change. I do the same thing with my own writing. One day I'm writing a full shred metal song and the next day a soft melodic ballad, and the next day might be a chicken picking country song (I'm from the South, forgive me all metal heads everywhere). But even with that I get similar hate for the simple fact that the people around say it's either too heavy, too soft, not enough solo, too much solo, ect.. So this is statement for Architects (though unless one of you guys text it to them, they won't see it) and to any musicians who see this, play the music that makes you happy, because if you're not happy with what you play, you won't enjoy doing it anymore. And to anyone that disses your music or tells you to go back to your old way of playing, well they can go fuck themselves, make your own path. I'd rather play the music I want for 50 people than play the music in forced for a 1,000

I knew of Architects before Sam was at the helm, I never latched onto their sound early on just because I was a little over-saturated with metalcore. But when the news hit about the tragedy that would change this band forever showed up on my feed one day, I went back, listened to all of their stuff, let it all wash over me, and I appreciate old Architects, but I LOVE new Architects. Especially their latest 2 albums.
The same way I actually went back and started re-listening to oldschool metalcore like early Underoath as well as a lot of Polaris and Bury Tomorrow. While I respect Parkway's growth as a band, as a listener it does feel like a regression in terms of genres not progression as a band.
Like I am stoked for Parkway, Winston and the boys are solid lads, but their latest record just wasn't for me and that's okay. Funny enough, I actually think Darker Still is my favorite track on that record, just because it reminds me of the intro and outro to their previous record.
But in my opinion, unlike Parkway's shift to more arena style metal, Architects is much more experimental with sound and flow and structure which I really love. It's also why I love basically anything Bring Me The Horizon puts out because Oli and the boys just followed in the footsteps of Chester Bennington(may he rest in peace) and just make the music they wanna make and I love when bands do that because it is always the best possible music they can be making.
So in a way, I am a long time Architects appreciator, though I didn't really connect with their music for a long time, I just acknowledged them and respected them and their craft, but newer Architects is by far my favorite version of the band's sound.

I am not super into the proggy, djenty sound they used to have, so I really loved For Those That Wish to Exist. The last album wasn't bad, but not as great for me. I really like this song because it combines the things I love about Architects with some more heaviness I also enjoy, but I wouldn't be mad if this was the heaviest song they release in awhile either!

Funny, I saw a reaction (Metalbirb) and decided this reaction by you guys is the last reaction I'll be checking out (any bands, actually, just don't view these the same as I used to).
One, because you're both great and I dig your vibe, even if we don't always agree.
Two, because the chorus is clearly made to interrupt those 'haters' from enjoying this too much.
Like, they clearly wrote the chorus to break up the heaviness, a kind of sonic representation of the lyrics, and it's genuinely INCREDIBLY clever.

Honest question: do you think the band even likes this song or is it just a slap in the face to fans who prefer their older material? I've heard Sam be interviewed about their sound change and he's always very dismissive about any criticism, saying its just fans living in the past. Well that is what fans of bands are: they enjoy your music for specific reasons and when you change, seemingly to be more stadium rockish, they question why...
THIS song is entirely Architects. It has the new vocal melodies, the old drums, the new production, the old guitar tone, the new dynamics, the old standard metal song vibe.
I'd hate for this to just be a one-off as a 'fuck you' to old fans...

Musically and production wise it's fantastic (no surprise, knowing that Mick Gordon was involved). My problem with Architects is that it got hard to connect with their music, especially lyrics. And it's no different with Seeing Red. They also stuck with those big arena choruses and honestly, it's just a little boring. There's nothing especially out of the box. It's not even wether they heavy or not. I just wish that, if they decided to go in a different direction, should fully commit to it and experiment, rather than picking at their haters.
To sum up, solid track but no 'wow' factor here. Thanks for reaction guys!
