Easy way to get rid of the ads is to skip right before the end, let the video come to a complete finish, and restart using the rewatch arrow. No ads for me every time

Lewis must have studied tailors for a while. He nails this.
Definitely. DDL is one of those method actors who always extensively researches his characters before playing them, and immerses himself in their worlds. He also has intense physical control that allows him to transform his body language. Check him out as a prizefighter in "The Boxer." You'd swear he was a pro. Or as a frontiersman in "Last of the Mohicans."

The part with the colored fabrics gets me every time. So gentle and subtle. How he plays the part definitely makes it even better. The sound of the fabric being swapped out. Just a perfect combo. I loved him as Macon in Beautiful Creatures too. Phenomenal actor.

A lot of scenes in this great movie have Asmr potential like the opening when he prepares to start his routine very methodically or the breakfast when he meets her for the first time and talks almost whispering.
Def agree. I limited this one to just the measurement scene... but I may re-visit this movie for another clip in the future. Lotta good stuff in there

The food ordering scene where he first meets Alma is great too!! A bit more background noise than you’d traditionally associate with ASMR but his very deliberate way of speaking and ordering a huge breakfast and Alma’s unique way or speaking is super relaxing.

Love the sound the scissors make when cutting fabric. And i also love the heightened sound of things like the needle drop, and the pencil writing on paper.
No one transforms the way Mr Lewis does as a actor other than Meryl Streep. I can watch them both act the same scene over and over again and never get tired of it.

Yeah she seemed to be having a great time until he dropped that on her. What a dick.
To be fair- He goes on to kinda compliment her right after that but it was cut from this loop. If I recall correctly- she apologizes and gets embarrassed and then he says she's perfect and it's his job to give her boobs... if he chooses to. He recovers nicely in the official version haha

It's that weird moment where he's so tunnel-visioned on his work he doesn't think about his comment out of context. He's just remarking on something he thinks is interesting and takes for granted that small-to-no breasts is useful in fashion despite public perception.

The scene in Rold Dahl's "The witches" where the maid turns down the bed and nosies in the fake book (with the potions in it) is such a huge asmr trigger for me. One of my first memories of experiencing asmr

Daniel Day Lewis is without question the most underrated actor of our time, the man simply vanishes into each character he's portraying. Becoming the embodiment of true cinematic art.
Underrated? He won an Oscar in 3 different decades. I wouldn't consider that underrated but he is a phenomal talent- like you mentioned. I was reading his bio the other day... the guy has turned down SO MANY roles in Hollywood. He has earned the right to be selective of his projects. Shame he has retired now. :(
Not underrated, but definitely on the "Mt. Rushmore" of acting.
The use of the word Underrated is overrated with people who understand the definition of the word.
He is the only actor to win the Oscar for Best Actor 3 times. Not underrated at all. You're probably just noticing that he avoids the limelight, so is rarely talked about in the press.

Best 2020 ASMR straight up. I only rewatch this for the breathing and movement. It's perfect. Also, "The Girl With The Pearl Earing." You are flushed with color, breathing, steps and sound of touching objects. It's beautiful ❤️

I've only just found this movie. Someone mentioned the ASMR quality, and so far, they are correct. I'm 30 minutes in, and the whole thing ASMR. His mannerisms are quite gentle.

I saw the subject and I didn't bother seeing this movie. But this little snippet reminds me it is Daniel Day-Lewis and the man is fascinating in anything he does.
Definitely check it out. The same writer/director also did Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood.

@@MaryKirk95 When she met him in restaurant, where she works as a waitress, they had eye contact, smiled and chatted. So when he invited her to his house she was waiting for anything else, but body measurments while another woman is watching.
As it she is dissapointed and shocked at this moment.

But the frustrating thing about this clip is that it’s silent at the part where she’s sliding across the map frame. It’s the only clip I can fine. It’s short but it’s great. Also the very first scene of her cutting the vegetables. I can’t find a clip for that anywhere and I have searched the depths of TH-cam
