- HURRICANE MICHAEL DESTROYED THIS PARK! BUT IT'S BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!
It's taken almost 5 years but after the devastation of hurricane Michael left St. Andrews State Park in ruin they have slowly been rebuilding... from scratch. We're happy to say that almost 90% of the campground space is now open and what you'll find is as close to a perfect, brand new, well designed campsite as you'll ever see. We were fortunate enough to spend a week there this late winter and we were just blown away by all the wildlife present in this park. The only downside?... there's little to no privacy or shade. Thanks to the hurricane winds and 4-foot waves most of the waterfront vegetation and trees were just wiped out to sea. They'll come back one day but if you can look past that you'll find an almost perfect waterfront/beach experience that's just a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of Panama City Beach.

Yes indeed, love our clear Emerald Coast. Glad yall enjoyed it too. Nuce seeing the wildlife. When the hurricane went through Mexico beach, and that area, it was so sad, all the devastation. They are strong folks here tho, really made a comeback. Awe Maggie does like her bath. ♥️. 🙂👍

What a beautiful campground, and Owen did get an amazing campsite. I always look forward to seeing what Sweet Maggie is up to, she was so enjoying her bath. The music was perfect and added a relaxing feel to the video. We recently stayed at the Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna, which was also wiped out by hurricane Michael. Work is ongoing in the campground. The tour of the caverns is well worth it, should you get back this way next year.

I love this… I’m from Tampa, Fl but my heart is in Panama City Beach. Grew up spending spring break and summers there. Walking distance to St Andrews state park. It’s a magical place.

1 of our favorite places to camp! Just across the bridge you can buy fish right as the boats come in. And Dat Cajun Place is a favorite restaurant. Thomas's Donuts is a MUST but it is a bit of a drive.

We were there a couple of years ago. We really enjoyed the beach and our day on Shell Island. We were bothered by no see-ums at dusk. Maybe the time of year we were there 🤷🏻♀️

We live in Panama City Beach. I love your videos on St Andrews State Park. My mother lives on the Lagoon where you camped. I just wanted to let you know the hurricane caused the beach to wash out and erode, that is why there is a 7 to 8 foot cliff. Hurricane Michael in 2018. Next time you come to town, give us a holler, and we'll take you out in the boat.

That is so nice of you to say. The struggle to grow a TH-cam channel is a challenge for sure. We've learned to love the subscribers we have and share what makes us smile when we look back on it and not share drama and tales of doom/despair just to get clicks. We were there last month and had a fabulous time there. This is an amazing park with amazing views. We did take the shuttle boat to Shell Island as well as the sunset/dolphin tour. I have never seen so many dolphins at one time including babies. We loved seeing all the other wildlife and birds as well! Keep up sharing the journey and your wonderful videos!

Love the video and the beach💜 Watching you walk the trail close to the water I was wondering if you ever have encountered a situation where you found a gator in the path you are on or too close to continue? I love the idea of going to those FL parks but a bit nervous about running into a gator. See you next week! Happy Tails……

What a nice beach! Your barbecue chicken pizza looked very good. I would like the recipe and it was so cute. You given Maggie a bath and her liking it. I thought it was so cute when she was rolled over like she wanted her belly rubbed my dog does that too after a bath, and he shakes off the water from his body is so cute and funny when they do that. My dog will sleep like that to on his back. That snake did look a little bit scary. What kind of snake was that? Do you know Owen?
There’s not much to the chicken pizza, just BBQ sauce, chicken, red onion and mozzarella cheese on a tortilla. We do like to put mushrooms on it if we have them. Thanks so much for your comment.

I believe that was a glass lizard instead of a snake. I saw one in Florida several years back and had to figure out what it was.

as you make the FL state park tour are you having to book days, weeks, months, years, decades, or centuries in advance? having much trouble getting camp sites? how does your solar hold up, do have to use the generator much? Do you still have a lot of wind noise when driving?
We are using an App called Campnab to book these sites usually 1-2 weeks out, most of what we are getting are cancelations. Owen did a video of the service if you are interested. On this trip we are mostly hooked up to power but when we are not the solar holds up well. Are generator was not working most of this trip but since we’ve had it fixed and it works great now. The rig is noisy while driving I’m not sure it’s all from the wind… the side door also makes some noise. I hope this answers all your questions. Thanks for watching.
