    Pro tip: Add an o-ring to the knurled bolt for tightening the picks.
    Helps stop them coming loose.

    Would've preferred a review of the included tension wrench. This is only half a review in my opinion.

    my biggest problem was getting the tension wrench out. my fingers kept sliding.. should have used rubber gloves for grip.. but i ended up pulling it out with a small paper clip bent and pulled it out..
    thank you for the review

    The picks on mine don't flop like that, maybe they improved a little on the design? I just bought it recently

    Thanks for the heads-up about fast tech. Hadn't heard of it before and was gonna pay several dollars more in shipping.

    I had one for my birthday from the wife. It's an exact replica of the one in your video but branded differently. Ok for emergencies however it won't last as an everyday tool in my opinion.

      uklockpicka no it is not for every day but for EDC when you need just a few times it does the job 👍

      Do yourself a favor and don’t get this, they’re garbage. Pay more money and get a quality version from Southord

    Hi there, where did you get the extra tension wrench? Did you make it yourself or you bought it? Can you send technical specs if you bought it please? Thanks in advance!

    • @patdud1979

      Rafael Donadeli hi I made them my self with windshield wiper inserts very easy to do 👍

      From what i heard, he stated that the second tension wrench was added by him when he previously "played" with it.

      just buy www.ukbumpkeys.com/collections/lock-pick-menu-multipick/products/multipick-extended-jackknife-pocket-pick-set-blackline-edition its way better, plus you can change out picks for your own preference, its pricey but worth every penny. also your didnt fully tighten the screw back up when you fold out the pick, thats why they are loose

  • @WilliamWHaywood
    @WilliamWHaywood 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought one of these and the only real problem I have with it is that the slop in how the pick itself is held with the set screw gives me feedback that has nothing to do with the pins.

    • @patdud1979

      yep but as an EDC or a backup it work ok for me.

    Still good after 2 years?

    • @patdud1979
      @patdud1979  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      voongnz yep if you only use it for EDC it will last you a life time 👍 but if your a bit more serious about I would go for something like the Madbob jackknife! This one is last resort...

    I cannot get the tension wrench out

    • @rogertillman9194
      @rogertillman9194 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had to use a small paper clip bent and pull works perfectly, other wise it is a very tight fit.. possible to get it out with a rubber glove for grip.

  • @StinkyDonkeyFilms
    @StinkyDonkeyFilms 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    should be 5160 Spring steel,a small ranger band would stay on the handle,and slide up when needed to stop the picks falling out

    • @CountDoucheula
      @CountDoucheula 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or just add an o-ring to the knurled bolt for tightening the picks.

  • @Ben7seven7

    These are like a another set I picked up for the same price which also have the same flaw you described about the picks not staying in place. The build quality and tolerances on these are pretty garbage and this is kinda a cheap knock off of the southord jackknife pick set which while much more expensive than this cheap POS is both lighter and built so so much better than these. I have a southord model as well so I’m speaking from experience.

    There are different qualities of stainless steel, all but one are magnetic. And you said it 301 cold rolled stainless steel is the one you want. And yes they are represented as made with the best stainless steel. So yeah really disappointing.

    • @patdud1979
      @patdud1979  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      sure they're different quality stainless steel but I don't think it is made from 301 and yes I think all stainless steel are magnetic.
