I would love to see you and Vaati run through the game with your favorite signature builds without changing parts at one point. I love the game having assembly options in checkpoints and retry’s as a way to modify difficulty especially without co-op features in game, but something about constantly changing a Mech for any slight variation of difficulty tends to in some ways flatten the “this is my Mech” lore and theme that is so very much prevalent in the stories of the series as well as 6. Furthermore is would be amazing for fromsoft to introduce an extreme or Ironman difficulty as a ng plus with debt and some of the older systems from other games added in. Maybe even repurchasing lost parts on mission failure.
meh, it's such a minor thing. saves you from having to restart a mission just to change a part, or maybe you forgot swap one out and realize halfway through a mission or something.
@@Oroborowith all the talk about "you'll have to adapt or you won't make it in this game" by a lot of the series veterans, I was surprised to see my super heavy tank with dual Gatling guns just bust through all of the game, works well with firebirds and really comes alive with the stun needle. I sometimes switched it up because I wanted to try out other things but I always replayed the bosses I beat with a lighter AC with my tank and It kind of trivializes everything. Hoping for some bigger challenges in NG+ or future DLC because I only died in like 4 missions total.
@@reijin999 So then you can use one part or set of parts to get through the whole mission up to a checkpoint, then swap to a full loadout that never would have made it given your skill, just to cheese a single fight. No thanks. The addition of the changing parts in the field setup was a bad idea, in general.
@@KainYusanagi Mission ranks are still a thing. I haven't even completed the game yet but can you S rank if you die? I doubt it. It's very nice to be able to get through the game and then focus on tailoring builds for missions etc etc.
I don't even play just to check out some gameplay and I honestly love how you went over the build. You went slow enough to follow but not annoyingly so, while being concise and informative.
This is my first AC game. I spent almost an hour fighting this boss. I didn't realize how much thought process needs to go into your load out because the first 6 levels were so simple. This game is really fun but can be punishing if you just rush into it.
My actual experience with this boss by chance, except I had the linear rifle you get from training and the dafault melee weapon. Set up works surprisingly well melting every early game boss and enemy and you can do it right after beating the first mission
Yep I had no idea the vertical rockets bypassed his armor completely, however one charged shot from the linear rifle to his back staggers him instantly and that was what got me through this boss
@@thechoseone456 vertical missiles makes this boss a total cakewalk. i use it to keep his stagger meter up when he plants. couple that with a schneider type legs so that you can maneuver around behind him easily. i was brute forcing him at my first couple of tries with the sword lol.
I had no idea how to beat this thing, I was scrambling to get behind it all the time and hit its weak spot it took a few tries but eventually I got it. I went online to see how people would normally do it and found out the vertical launcher completely trivializes the fight T.T
I didn't realize the boss was hard. I'm pretty sure you can beat it with almost any configuration by just, like, maintaining altitude. Every single time he got remotely close I just floated up, stayed close, and unloaded/sworded into his back. Genuinely super simple; now Balteus, that's a trial-
Glad to see I'm not the only one to find that that plasma rifle is absolutely ridiculous. I'm hard pressed to find a better weapon and I'm near the end of chapter 3 and have s-ranked everything, collected all the battle logs, and collected all the hidden parts (at least that I could find by combing through every mission with the longest range scanner possible).
TLDR: the best weapon is no weapon. I take it back. I was running around missions looking for/collecting data logs. I just went to the mission with the Sea Spider boss and I decided to bring no weapons what so ever, the lightest parts I could, reverse joint legs, and the fastest booster I have. All so I could speed through scanning looking for stuff. I thought I'd just die at the boss and change my setup so I could actually fight. However It turns out while the damage is negligible, the impact is amazing. Combined with the very fast attack speed with no cooldown if you alternate I ended up killing the boss without having to even go to assembly.
Well it sure was nice of ol' jugs to just stand completely still for so long. Even when I was stunning him he was still dashing around turning to shoot and dropping stuff everywhere. Getting an opening long enough to even do a stun that quickly was just out of the question when I faced him. I REALLY think the whole stagger system was a mistake...
Just beat the game. Getting over one particular end-chapter boss was quite difficult for me, as I was running a melee build. Really looking forward to seeing how you handle that one.
Those vertical missile launchers definitely make a huge difference. I happened to be using them the very first time I ran into this boss. No idea it would be the best choice.
Man. I can't believe I didn't think of using those specific rockets. It took me a few tries to figure out that attacking from above was key. I already had half the build with the plasma cannons. 😂
I'm looking forward to seeing you break the Sea Spider boss, that was the first one to really challenge my AC build... so much so that I had to completely change EVERYTHING up. So I just saved my main AC and made a new one literally named "SEA SPIDER" which is just my juggernaut tank build now 😂
I've been slamming my head into this guy today, but the reverse joints and close range FCS seem to work well against him too. As long as you don't get stunlocked or stuck against a wall and get insta-killed, you can pretty easily jump right over him without using any energy and stay above him for the majority of the first phase - basically trivializing his cannon since it can't track you fast enough to get on target once you're on the other side of him.
@@Khotetsu Yeah, for that guy I used the reverse joints and just floated above him hitting him with rockets and dual charged linear rifle shots. Took me maybe 5-6 tries.
@@COMMANDandConquer199 I originally flew through the map with dual pulse guns and those forward firing plasma missiles, and ended up basically running out of ammo on my first try on him, died at the last 10% with nothing but missiles left. Double plasma rifle is super strong in general. I just entered chapter 3 with them carrying me through the game lol. My set up is dual plasma rifles, then a sword on my left shoulder using the weapon bay OS chip unlock for direct hit punishes, and a missile launcher of choice on my right shoulder.
