    Fyi: another way to lock a differential is to use silly putty which can also be easily removed if you'd like to unlock the diff.

    I've seen several spools for my rustler 4x4. I've thought about putting a solid spool in the rear but I dont know if it will make it better or just break parts. Neet idea with the goo. I figured you would throw 2 part appoxy in it. The goo could probably be removed if you wanted to later though.

    Hi Richie, I’m quite new to drifting rc cars, can I ask you, should I fit a locked diff front and rear, or just the rear?

      Hot glue gun doesn't always work because some glue are harder than others but one wheel will eventually get lose assuming you drive a monster truck hardcore with Duratrax 3.8 six pack tires.

    There’s a grub screw u can tighten on the diff case that will lock it up on the rs4 sport 3. I did that in mine for a while then switched to a limited slip style diff using a bit of putty

    • @DriftomaniacsRC

    • @dirtrider88
      @dirtrider88 ปีที่แล้ว

      i just put 1m cst fluid in my kraton. it made a huge difference. idk if ear plugs would "lock" it up any better but i would recommend it.

    Did you mention why lock the diff? Just for drifting? What do you suggest for drag racing?

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      just for drifting although I think some use it for drag racing.

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      apologies you did ask what I suggested for drag racing. If your car has a centre diff then lock that center diff, I do on my cars but keep the front and rear diffs unlocked (for drag racing). Run the front lower than the rear. I really should do a whole video on the no prep drag thing (which bizarrely needs some prep to do!)

    Still think the granite 4x4 blx 3s is worth getting over the stampede 4x4 vlx

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not sure what that has to do with diff locking but you're probably right! That said you can't upgrade the 3s blx to steel diffs and the plastic ones wear out fast. The traxxas you can upgrade to 4s power as you can fit steel upgrades to everything

    • @Jursaw

    • @MarcRCAddict
      @MarcRCAddict 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DriftomaniacsRC lol I was thinking that too, bit off topic.. As as it was mentioned rich, my 2019 arrma granite 4x4 3s blx come with full metal diffs not plastic. I agree though, the stampede 4x4 once upgraded will be a stronger model then the granite 4x4 3s blx but out the box it's blooming close, here in the uk the arrma is also a few hundred bucks cheaper too.. I snapped one of my granite rims the other day, arrma touch baby lol.. Happy rcing bud 👍

  • @TheSphongleface

    I'd just drill a hole in a thick nail and use that the whole way from the right female dogbone cup to the left one, with another nail in the hole, locking to the diff case, using the old gear holes.
