- This was a last minute idea I had while at Andertons recently.
It was all filmed on my phone but I think it sounds pretty good for what it is.

If you're near Toronto, try Cosmo's in the meantime. So many custom shops, so little money...but great experience nonetheless.

It's definitely worth a look. The town of Guildford is a nice experience too, well worth a visit.
The cheapest Murphy Labs guitar is about £4500. Most of the Les Pauls are £6000 upwards. The East Coast gold top (last guitar in the video) is £240. I guess it shows the tone is in the fingers not necessarily in the wallet.
As far as gear goes, the most tone comes from the amp, with a smaller amount coming from the guitar. The feel and playability are all in the guitar though, as well as most of the inspiration 👌✌

Damn, nice Peter Green playing in the beginning. I miss seeing you play Worried Dream. Hope you continue the lesson series in the future. I'd love to see you do a lesson on Green Manalishi or Rattlesnake Shake (with the 'Underway' instrumental from the Boston Tea Party would be a dream come true)

Magic… But I mean REAL magic as always Dave. I’m pretty sure that both dealers and your TH-cam followers agree if (which I doubt) you wanted to do demo’s part time, the instruments would fly out the warehouse regardless of price. You’d be well paid selling top shelf product and bucket loads of reasonably priced gear and well deserving of it too. Heck Peach Guitars may never even open their show room doors again due to the success of great gear demo’s serial number by serial number on TH-cam. Great playing Dave 👍

The Murphy Lab SG looks so good
That les Paul gold top sounded awesome. The SG sounded incredible the ibenez sounded fantastic to . The first les Paul sounded like a modern les Paul trying to sound classic to my ears .
The Flying V sounded really much better than I expected. .
The SG was my favourite though I have a soft spot for them . Since Hendrix George Harrison. Clapton .Tony Iommi Jimmy Page Angus young used them live . At various stages of their careers. Very deceptively versatile the SG is . Highly underrated guitar .

I've often thought it would be nice to spend time in a shop like Andertons trying out the best gear...except I'd probably end up being rather frustrated at having tried it out and wanted it...I actually couldn't afford it!

This has nothing to do with this particular video I'm afraid. I just watched that "mental health week" video you did about 4 years ago. I was very blown away by that. You're an amazing person. And I'm so glad that you refused to take medication for the anxiety. I made the mistake of taking it and it nearly killed me. Those drugs are extremely dangerous and most doctors will not warn you about the dangers. Some very gifted musicians have been brought down by substances. Including psychiatric drugs. It's very sad. I'm glad you refused them. Peace, brother. Thank you for surviving. And for bestowing your gifts upon us. We're glad you're still with us..
