  • Despite sitting on its side, the Odysseus lunar lander was able to share pictures from the surface of the moon. NASA advisor Dr. Paul Sutter gives an update on the mission to NBC's Gadi Schwartz and also explains how a NASA satellite had a near miss with a dead Russian satellite in orbit.

I just remember one thing I saw elsewhere and that was
“If you think they’re still going up there for some rocks to cart back you are sadly mistaken”
And that’s because they collected more than enough at this point and that tells you all you need to know.
I’d appreciate it if the people who work for humanity would just stop lying or covering up whatever it is they do or see. Stop cutting the live ISS feed “due to technical difficulties” etc. Why do we need to get jazzed up about the moon if you’re just collecting rocks for starters. Secondly that’s been done since forever ago. Way before I was around. If you haven’t been figuring out a way to create oxygen there or something more major than rock collecting, just save it. Some of us are interested in what you might really be doing or planning. But it ain’t rock collecting so you can stick a sock in that one.
I hope people continue to question EVERYTHING they do. Tell us why we should be hyped up about utter nonsense when they know what we wanna see and know about and it’s not rocks. That’s them hyping things up so they don’t lose public interest and therefore MONEY. Well, do something more than rock collecting. Pretty sure they’ve been doing that since the first mission out there. You have plenty of rocks now.

Compare the design to a Boeing 747 aerodynamically designed to travel at 610 miles per hour.
Visually the Odysseus design does not appear aerodynamically conducive to travelling at twice the speed of Boeing at 1,420 miles per hour. What will happen to the Helium filled baloon tank in the vacuum of Space and will this slow the vehicle down?

There’s something I just don’t get. While I find space and it’s mysteries fascinating, I’ve come to think that space exploration is best left to when we really, I mean really need to do so. Some would say that we humans need to explore and that throughout history we’ve been explorers, and that it’s necessary for the expansion and advancement of our civilization as well as for advancements in technologies. That’s sounds logical, the problem is that humanity has yet to solve it’s own basic problem, and instead abandons them to try and solve other problems that don’t yet exist. In other words, humanity only creates more problems than it solves when vasts amount of resources are used to explore things and places that don’t solve more pressing issue here on earth. And all we really do is ultimately create more problems we then have to spend more resources than what we have to try and solve those new ones. It’s like trying to run before learning to walk. Geez, I’m exhausted.
