It is a relief to hear the Gospel. It really does lift a burden and bring peace and joy.

Absolutely love this, have been so blessed with these teachings,My only complaint is how it seems the deeper discussions are reserved for those who can afford to pay 😢

Thanks brothers for yet another great vid. Totally agree with you guys as someone who struggled with this very issue and got swept up in pieces for a time, but thank the Lord for the confessions, that reflect His word, handed down though the church. And most of all, thank God that in Christ , we can always rest and be assured in His perfect good works ;) God bless you guys and keep up the good work 😉

Thank you for pointing out the correct context of 2 Corinthians 13:5! That was a gem in the crown of this wonderful episode

People lose their minds When they hear salvation through belief only In christ finished work Because of pride they love the work wage system And they have invested a lot of time study and works into their righteousness. They can't imagine not getting paid for them in the form of Salvation Works are a fruit born out of gratitude for Christ's grace.

God doesn’t need your good works .. your neighbor does

Bride of Christ. How glorious it is to have the name and merit of Jesus attributed to me.

Titus 3:14 is clear why we should do good works. We are zealous to do these things (Titus 2:14) but they do not save us Titus 3:5.

Hey brothers. I am trying to make it up to JP's church in Asheville sunday. I am in a tough place with scripture and my faith and I would love to be able to sit down with him and go over some scripture. I know its a big ask, but would this be possible? I live about an hour away.

When you first believe that the new birth perfects us, in Christ, in the heavenlies,my life is lived by another person (in Christ) in another place.

There is only one good work: abiding in Christ. My obedieces are none of my busness. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

You say works are for many reasons but i think you left out that works fulfill and complete faith. Abraham believing God? fulfilled when sacrificing Isaac. Theif on the cross? We could see his faith by his works before Jesus ever spoke to him... Its intimately linked it seems like calling faith an action or how its said that faith is also faithfulness.

What work did the thief do?

Works of faith, before Jesus ever uttered a word to the thief on the cross we already knew that he believed based on nothing more than his behaviour.

@@Captain_Of_A_Starship We know that the thief was repentant (he had a change of mind and attitude), and yes, he was believing in Jesus. However, I would not say that any of that counts as a work that merits salvation. Jesus' work in perfect obedience to the law and work on the cross is what cancels our sin debt and grants us His righteousness.
