    Great no nonsense demonstration on an unusual species. Deserves to be more widely used.

    Another good video and a much better viewing angle again. We can see what you are actually dealing with rather than when u work from behind the tree which makes it very difficult to see exactly what u r doing. Thanks corin keep doing what your doing 👏

    Another great video. I have a small spindle tree and perhaps I should let it grow a bit. You are right; the autumn color is an intense red and the fruits a lovely shade of pink. These videos are really enjoyable.

    Thanks for that Corin, something I hadn't considered or really come across when looking for a new tree! Will have to keep an eye out for one. Yet again another sound presentation keeping to the point and quick!!! Well done.

    Corin when do you repot and apart from prune in spring, do you cut back flowers or any other maintenance during the year

  • @pietropieroni5685

    Hello from Italy . There is a chance to send you a picture of my euonymus Alatus taken at the nursery . However , what I would like to ask is on pruning now . Want to shorten the plant by giving it a bonsai setting . The plant is adults so some branches will not be able to bend them or have tall woody branch . Can I drastically cut a branch as big as a finger hoping for growth of new branches or I have to go back year by year thanks

    It’s a tad more impressive than the one I picked up from the bargain bin at the local garden centre… but all trees have humble beginnings right!

  • @peterboneg
    @peterboneg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have any native European spindle? Plenty grow around my area near the south downs. I have 2 that I hope will develop into bonsai but I'm unsure how suitable they are.

    Great video! Love your easy going style. Euonymus, a.k.a "burning bush" here in WA state, is one of my favorite material, I have 7 which I salvaged from a demolition.
    Humbly asking you to please make a follow up video on its culture and care. I would like more info on their culture. When is the best time to repot? How aggressive can you prune, especially those vertical shoots? What and when is the best time to feed them. I have been treating them by following the same schedule as acers or any other deciduous trees, since it is hard to find specific info about them, being a not so common bonsai material. Akadama is expensive here, so I have been growing mine in a "1:1:1" mix of lava rock, pumice and fir bark. Thanks in advanced.

    I like what you did with the first tree. The temptation to take the lower branches off entirely can be pretty sunstantial.
