the amount of times i faced Sirchby during my first 100 hours are extremely memorable and taught me to be curious about melee and experiment with it, I am very happy to meet and fight against the other great melee heads like Thermidor and LoyalBones later down the line, I may play heavy weight now but I still feel like a light weight at heart
This video was honestly a game changer for me in PvP - thank you so much for giving all of these players a platform to share their builds and strategies! I've been running Bort's setup for a really long time now, and it has been incredibly fun. I don't know if anyone will be looking at these comments since the video is kind of old now (in terms of the pvp scene's evolution) but I could really use some clarification for the mechanic Bort calls Pre-canceling. Bort's script says "perform by inputting your cancel briefly before the starteup of your dash..." but I can not figure out what that actually means. Obviously it's not a QB or an AB cancel, but I don't know of any other "cancel input". I've tried the jump button, but that wasn't it either. I love the build, but not having that Y-axis movement has become a noticeable disadvantage.
was wondering about this myself and after some testing without enemies: qb cancel melee dash right before slashing with the dagger. inputs are pretty precise and its possible to reach simulator roof in about 3 of these with mind beta legs and kikaku.

I actually made a video of me getting to S rank with my lightweight double melee build (dagger and beam saber) to try and maybe inspire more people to play melee competitively But now with the insane range you have I'm hoping to see a real difference hehe Thank you! Finally got around to watching the whole thing it's a great video and I was impressed to see so much tech I hadn't before. The part at the end with the paint jobs was a really nice wrap up too.
I started AC6 with the image of making a cloak and dagger mecha, and to this day is something I keep going back, even if it's hard to use effectively I keep going for it because I just enjoy the style of Sword and board that I always try to replicate in all the games I play, even if is not the most effective It has become a honor thing for me (I can relate to the "no 'S' button, pressuring enemies by engaging to them upfront and personal is just an experience I can't leave)

I totally get it with Blueshift. I used a similar AC for the campaign with an eye-watering amount of orange and ended up making a parody of Black Sabbath's Paranoid cover with a sweet16 and the camera mode. High saturation colors make motion blur look ethereal in this game.
Bort I NEED some documentation on how to do precanceling. That vertical movement looks insane, and I haven't been able to stumble into the inputs for it yet.
@@Retro_Vendetta ALRIGHT I'VE GOTTEN IT TO WORK (not consistently yet but) It's very tight in frames, Pile Bunker's been the easiest for me so far. Wherever you're looking, it goes. Look up to get vertical movement. Melee, and then QB right after your elbow rears back as far as it'll go, but within a few frames of when it starts the punch animation. You'll cancel and just go where you're looking.
The biggest thing holding back melee builds from being as effecient and capable as guns is 100% based on the energy matchup. If you cant recharge en or have enough to remain in the mix for long enough, that's usually what gets melee builds rolled
33:51 Thermidor's AC inspired my pulse blade / pile bunker double melee. Also, immediately died to him when I went against him in ranked. I have also run into Trash Panda and the only way I can beat him is if I PA before stagger as to avoid the assault armor otherwise every other time I went against him he easily beat me. Lastly, I watched LoyalBones melee only to S rank and was thoroughly impressed. All of these guys are amazing I hope to be nearly as good as them one day. Man, I love Armored Core.

after watching his part repeatedly on half speed, i think 7:27 holds the key, also 7:41, or it's just as simple as a fast tap of melee>quickboost as 8:24 shouldn't be possible if it's not a melee tap or a quickboost since it's a chainsaw
@@aizero-ih3uy I was playing around with it as well and was doing melee quick tap into assault boost then into melee again to try and recreate the vertical movement demonstrated on the drone in the AC test arena. I was struggling to replicate with melee into QB bc on console it requires a directional input on the joy stick and that feels clunky to time well. Also QB pushes you forward not up and I wasn’t able to get the vector of the melee boost while looking up to transfer into vertical movement with QB

i think it's because charged shot locks you into firing stance no? zimm has the advantage of not being in firing stance, hence probably why he choose it?

Trash is the most terrifying player I have faced in the whole game. He's easy to figure out but you will be running away from him the whole game if you don't have a shield.
This is explains why am I struggled against the melee ac users. I used duel-miniguns and earshot as the close-range gunner to beat each player. I think these melee players are getting much better than guns.
a couple players have mentioned getting above 1800 stability. What specifically makes 1800 the threshold? Is it a meta choice vs specific weapon impacts?
i would guess it's both considering the current heavy build meta has around that stability amount by default and the zimm impact power that quickly fills close to that, meaning below it will guaranteed you to be staggered and got comboed to death
If AC6 gets a DLC, I hope future AC pilots we fight deploy AI that use more optimized builds and proper tech like what is shown here. I'd love to fight some foes that play aggressively, use their kits to their full ability (or at least as best as an AI can do), and deploy strategies used by skilled players today.

I've once landed a raw charged pile bunker to counter someone trying to boost kick once.
Nothing else has ever topped that moment.
