    Hi Liz, your content and presentations are top shelf. Speaking of top shelf, the vertical storage over the fridge is 5 stars ! I'm going to deviate from current trends to take wall cabs to the top of the 9 foot ceiling. Cabinet crown molding and then laying aluminum screen window inserts across the tops below the trim edge with strip lighting underneath. An original thought on my part but like everything, I'm sure its already been done. When the lighting looks dim, put the screen inserts in the dishwasher. I'm also a big believer in locating the garbage drawer at the parameter of the triangle so the hubby can empty it without getting in the way ;-) I'm learning so much from your videos and had a wife that owned the kitchen while I was confined to being an observer . With memories in hand, your shared knowledge & experience will help make the kitchen she would have loved. P.S. Absolutely love the photo shots for style ideas !

    Thank you - very helpful as always. Much to consider. I agree about limiting very expensive, specific features - prefer more versatility. And the corner double hinged doors get too banged up. It is a challenge to figure out the clearances needed for doors, what hinges to use etc. -- hopefully our kitchen designer will be able to do it. Thanks for supplying us with good questions to ask! You are awesome Liz!

    What a great video! I’m in the beginning process of redoing our 25 year old kitchen. I know the look like and I know function is key. Yours is the first video I have found that is easy to understand for the regular Joe out there! You present the info in a simple yet informative way. Well done🤗

    Thanks so much, Liz! I’m seriously excited about the elevation video! Your content has been a lifesaver-I’m working on my first big kitchen design for a client, and your videos have made the process so much easier. I love how you explain things so clearly. Do you happen to have a list or advice on the best places to locate key items in the kitchen? I don’t want to miss a thing since this is a $50K kitchen I’m designing 😵‍💫. That would be super helpful! You’ve got such a great eye for detail-your designs always come together beautifully!

      I’m glad the videos help! Don’t design alone!🤣 As far as a list, that’s going to be, mostly, local to your area. Knock off appliances and cabinetry first. Those are the budget killers. Look at local fabricators for deals on countertops remnants and shop smart. That budget will go quick!

    You and Mark Tobin both advocate for blocking off the blind corners and just making the most of the remaining space. I was shocked at first, but the more I think about my own upcoming reno and how I don’t like any of the solutions for corners, I’m now in total agreement.

      I'm from NYC. every inch matters. But, the efficiency of those fancy pullouts for the money? I could spend where it shows!

    Great points and great ideas. Storage above fridge for trays etc is perfect. Here's another point, either have in hand or are 100% certain on appliances prior to design, we had to totally change plans after buying ex display matching fridge and freezers for a huge discount. We are remodelling a G shape kitchen, fridge, freezer, and wall ovens running into a 45 degree corner pantry. Plaster down from 9 ft ceiling to meet cabinets at 8 ft and no above counter cabinets for the remaining U shape and apart from the bins under the sink, exclusively drawers! Just trying to work out whether a bulkhead along the hotplate wall will add or take away from the design.

    I enjoy watching your videos. I think I have learnt something about kitchen design which will be helpful when building my dream home. However, although it seems intuitive to put cooking oils, herbs, and spices by the stove, these are sensitive to heat, which can cause deterioration. I would place them in the pantry which will be dark and cool

    Nice group of videos… so how big is the sink base for that monster 45” sink

    • @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa
      @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Dk yet. I’m working with a designer and he’s discussed a 60” base since I’ve got a dead corner next to it. I thought maybe cut the side out of a 36” sink base.? But, some will make 48” sink cabinet that will fit it.

      Yes thinking about it …. taking two large single door sink bases - attaching them together then cutting most of the adjoining walls especially if the sink drain/ plumbing is all on one side. Showed the sink to my wife now I think its in my future 😟

    • @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa
      @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ a 36” base is what I’m thinking and dead space beside. The only concern is replacing the sink someday, but I can deal with that’ Good luck! Ruvati makes a good knock off of the 6k Elksy!

    Thanks for the info. I'm renovating a small U-shaped kitchen and I'm planning to install my microwave on a shelf flush with the 12 inch depth upper cabinets. I would like to get the microwave off the limited counter space and I plan to get a small microwave. Is this a problem? Will ventilation be an issue? I have seen other kitchens which appear to have such a set up. Thanks!

    • @lizbiancoismydesignsherpa
