We must live by extremely different type of stores🤷♂️😝. That would be an awesome find or gift. Thats awesome! Hey thanks for sharing! Gonna look for this!
I think it came from Duluth maybe? It was a cool and awesome gift for sure. I carried it in my backpack daily until more recently. It’s a hardy and handy tool to have. I like it but I also have other things that can do what it does. But it’s nice that it is available in stores 7:00 . I didn’t mean for this to be a negative review. More just informative. I think it can be useful.
Probably one of the original pen picks on the commercial market. Not suitable for anything with a paracentric keyway but it would be handy to have in the car for a quick emergency pick once you filed the tensioner and pick thinker. Thanks for showing this pick, cheers
Absolutely. I’m gonna modify it some and keep it in my glovebox. It’s a very useful tool. I do think a snake rake is a good choice to bridge the hook rake gap and only have 1 profile. I always think of more things to say after the video lol
@@LockChuck it definitely worked! I might flip the tip and tighten it down and see if I like it better. But it opened for sure! Just a thick pick and I’m used to my thinner ones now 😂 but it has its use im sure. Do you like yours?
Very neat 👌 😮the original penpick for sure eh lol ..wow thats some vintage ishhh right there homie 👌 nice addition to any collection ❤❤thanks for sharing
Nice review Doc. Nice set as you say for the wider keyways. At least the rake should be able to take lots of abuse being so thick. Have a great weekend buddy 👍🤜🤛
I am like Lock Chuck. Mind is over 20 years old and it was my first pick before I was in Locksport. Where it shines is opening wafer locks on file cabinets and desks, nothing with a wafer locks.👍🦊
@@jackfoxlock it’s a classic. I think it was the first pick I ever owned technically, but I never used it until after I was into locksport and had tried other things.
Simple fix for the upside down orientation. Take the top off, take out the pick assembly, unscrew the phillips head screw and turn the pick the other way. Reassemble.
How much modding could you do? Convert to hook, thin it out, mod the wrench? I mean, I do remember seeing those all the time way back when...but it's been a fair while!

I’m still learning this whole showbizz thing. You’ve gotta get me sorted 😂
I have had that pick for almost 20 years. I have used it well before i got into locksport. Got into many locks with it.

@@DocExMachinayes I like it. As a firefighter I used it to get into door locks. Especially kwikset.
@@LockChuck good to know! That’s a useful perspective to have. I’ll play with it a bit more then and see how I feel about it after some more use.
@@DocExMachinabut to be honest, knowing what I know now, I would have carried something different.
First time I’ve seen that particular one. It is kind of usable but seems outdated. All pick tools are cool though.

Yeah it’s cool! I was surprised at how well it worked honestly. Very neat little tool.
@@DocExMachina okok cool 😎 thanks for sharing and ir feedback 😀

Good to know ive been looking at them i probably wont buy one now
I think it depends on what you need it for.

I think id leave it a rake. But maybe tighten it up and thin it a little so it fits more places. But it is cool and I don’t wanna ruin it either.
I call that upside down all day long. That , my friend, is a lock pick designed by someone who doesn’t pick locks 🤣 It does work though.
I’ll fix it eventually 😂 it does work! It works well even! Just has to be a wide key way.
