Matchsaverz vs. Magload, Which is Best?

  • Thanks for watching everyone! In this video I talk about the difference between the Magload and Matchsaverz extra shell holder as fitted on my new Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. Here's the link to the Matchsaverz TH-cam link on how to install it:
    • MatchSaverzInstallation
    *IMPORTANT NOTE*
Although in the video, I use 12ga. snap caps to demonstrate the grip that the Matchsaverz and Matchload exerts on a shell, I did use regular 12ga. 2.75" and 3" shotshells (buckshot, slug, etc.) which actually worked worse with the Matchload since it would cause indentations in the hull making it even more difficult to manipulate; this does not happen with the Matchsaverz.

Excellent video, this is exactly what I was looking for.. thank you for this video and the close ups of where and how you mounted it. This is exactly what I was looking for!!

I just received the MagLoad in the mail and installed it (super easy on the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol), I have no problems at all with sliding the Winchester Universal 12ga 2 3/4 shells through the MagLoad. But my dummy 12ga shells were more tough to slide through it.
The two mounting screw holes are to give it a solid mount rather than just one mounting screw at one end (which could possibly swing or pivot) and just relying on velcro on the other end, but to each their own.

Thanks for watching and your comment! Yes, everyone has their own preference. Just a note that the single bolt that holds down the Matchsaverz with the velcro is so solid, that I've never had a problem with it moving. Also, if you do need to reposition it in the future, you can just loosen the bolt and rotate it up or down then reattach it to the velcro. You can't do that with the Magload. But again, the only real difference is personal preference.

Thank you for the informative video brother. What trigger is that if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks for watching and your question! That isn't a trigger, but a trigger shoe! It is made by Briley and I have them on pretty much all the shotguns I own--especially the Benelli M4 since that trigger is awful--it's convex and narrow. It's so bad that I couldn't shoot it more than about 20 rounds before my finger got sore. Here's the link for the Briley trigger shoe: www.briley3gun.com/p-62522-briley-trigger-shoes-for-beretta.aspx
Here's the review I did on the shoe for this gun:

I wouldn't be able to shoot my Benelli or Beretta without these shoes. It makes the trigger so much better!

How did you order your matchsaverz? I tried emailing the company with no response and I couldn't figure out how to order online.

Thanks for watching and your question! Honestly, I don't remember but I emailed them I think. You just have to be patient and maybe email them a couple more times. Let me know what happens.

I tried to inquire with the matchsaverz website and received NO response to my email. Sure would be nice if there were more available dealers.

@@hardballballistics9177 I hear ya, I had the same problem. Plus, they sent me the wrong size the first time, but then made it up to me (without ever letting me know) by sending me the correct size twice!

I like the look of the mag load better but the match saverz functions better

    • @docgsreloading7985

Agreed! Plus, the Magload does stick out from the gun considerably more--perhaps something that could get caught on a barricade during a stage.

@@docgsreloading7985 I forgot to ask , when you bought the limb saver butt pad did it come with its own screws? I just bought it and was wondering if I have to use the beretta screws or ones that come with it. I’m not using the patrol for competition and I keep it in the case club case not sure the match saverz installed on the handguard will prevent the case from closing

I put this in the description, but I wanted to put it in the comments section:

I run the magload there's no need to modify it at all it works perfectly with birdshot, slugs or buck shot. Snap cap dont act like real ammo.

    • @docgsreloading7985
      @docgsreloading7985  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

If you read the description, I said there that I used regular ammo not just the snap caps and that with real shells, it was even worse as it tended to indent and 'stick' to the hull. I just don't like the Mag Load over the Matchsaverz, just my opinion.

Worrying about your gun getting scratched up is crazy. Also putting putting tape on it for that reason 😂😂
