Definitely can't claim to understand most of the lod for the game, but using this to generate custom lod is a godsend. Fallout 3 looks so much better with this implemented.
The scenario feels more cohesive without objects appearing or disappearing depending on your distance. It's easy to spot certain locations. - 04:48 - The crane in Scrapyard makes a huge difference (Bethesda didn't create LODs for all the old cars and wagons there). - 05:09 - The entire back side of the Meresti Trainyard Tunnels entrance was missing in the vanilla game.
