Cricket Australia could have simply avoided this tour due to current economic turmoil Sri Lanka facing. But they didn’t. I remember Finch was telling that they wanted to bring a smile to these people’s faces. In fact they did. And this is how the people showed their gratitude for Cricket Australia. Thank you!

As an Aussie, I live with people of different cultures from every part of the globe. Any Aussie will tell you it's the greatest thing about being Australian. And every single Sri Lankan I've ever met is an absolute champion person. I've never met a rude Sri Lankan. Not once. Even when I lived in the US and had to attend the 2003 World Cup by doing all-nighters on PPV, the owners and staff of a local Sri Lankan restaurant welcomed me to watch the games with them on their big screen and they fed me the most beautiful food all night. My heart breaks for what Sri Lanka is going through. They deserve the absolute BEST. I hope the Australian government is doing everything it can to help. I know Sri Lankans would help Australia if we ever needed it

Thank you to the whole Australian team for coming on this tour with all those concerns, it has been a thoroughly entertaining series every match came out with so much drama, the atmosphere was electric

Everyone here has common sense to understand that given what we are going through, it was great that the assuies showed up to play such a long series with us. As an Indigenous Indian Australian…. Moved to tears, that’s the craziest and most bewildering experience I’ve ever witnessed! I doubt any other country would do that for one another….It’s a very special friendship and I don’t think we have ever seen a population as kind as excited about their opponents participation as the crowd in COLOMBO. Losing has never felt so good…. People can’t eat, people can’t find respite from the circumstances but somehow find money to wear an oppositions colours. Honestly Aussies if you like surfing you’ll find some of the best waves in the world over in Sri Lanka, safe travels and tip well.

This Aussie team is fantastic. Not only coming and playing, but donating money too I heard (let's hope it doesn't fall into the wrong hands). And amazing gratitude shown by the fans in reciprocation. But I still remember the time when Shame Warne (RIP) refused to come in 1996 because he thought he wouldn't be able to do his shopping. It was India and Pakistan that stood by SL then. West Indies too chickened out because they didn't want to be bomb victims. But that didn't seem to bother our subcontinental brothers.
Eventhough we are in a terrible situation as Sri Lankans' we will never disappoint our guests.... we will do our best to make you happy ❤️❤️❤️ I hope one day we will be happy together when we get rid of this crisis ❤️❤️

...and we love Sri Lanka right back. One of my favourite places to visit and its a beautiful place full of beautiful people. Their government has ruined the economy and caused so much upheaval, it's incredibly sad.
The Sri Lankans should be so proud of how the team played in this ODI, absolutely incredible. They have gone up a level with talent and also application, you could see how badly they wanted to win those games. And they've won the series deservedly. Aussies love Sri Lanka, always want to have a talk and have a joke, people have a great sense of humour and most are incredibly respectful. It is a dream of mine to be in Sri Lanka to enjoy a cricket series with the locals in the stands.
