2:44:34 speaking of big boss body being actually solidus I think you can get it pretty easily actually, there's a scene that clearly shows the body with his right eye open and the other one missing. They match solidus as bb lost his right eye, so you can actually pick the twist if you pay attention to some details. I remember playing the game and noticing that but just thought it was a mistake and didn't connect it to solidus in the first place
I was looking to see if someone else pointed this out before saying as much myself. It's definitely not impossible to guess if you actually really look at the details but it's super easy to miss if you don't remember which eye Boss is missing vs Solidus.

In Metal Gear 3, Ocelot isn't... necessarily... giving a meow as the signal, but, rather, the distinct call of a natural ocelot, in the vein of people giving natural bird calls and whistles, for the same effect.
The main tell that venom is a doppelgänger is that rescuing Kaz is one of the first things you do after creating a character and when kaz says “what took you so long?”, Venom says “we’ll talk, but not here”
@@Old_Soul_Shimi in every game when Snake rescues or meets Kazuhira, their butt-buddies line is to say "What took you so long", said by Kaz and Snake's answer is "kept you waiting, huh?". MGSV gives it away that there's SOME shenanigans going on because Snake supposedly has all his memories past the helicopter bomb incident but he responds to Kazuhira by saying a completely different line ("we will talk, but not here"). I played this game on the same couch with a friend of mine and we were, on that spot, already like "huh??" when we didn't get the delivery
@@XtoGTA I mean that's exactly what I thought you all meant, but since you can press the button to respond to Kaz yourself I kind of thought nothing of it, since you yourself can miss out on saying it
bro "we live and die by your order boss" hits so fucking hard these men are so loyal to big boss and his ideals they are willing to die to save the world
And you wouldn’t be willing to die to save the world? I feel like being loyal to big boss and willing to die to kill a world ending disease is very different.
Im not sure if anyone pointed it out, but during the peace walker section you expressed uncertainty with the butterfly symbolism. Butterflies are often associated with death in Japanese culture. Gives the final mech a more “death incarnate” big bad energy. Gives more context to Quiet’s character as well. Amazing work!
There's also Snake trying to capture butterfly in MGS3, only to finally mold one out of C4 near the end, toss it in the air, and finally "catch" it. The symbolism ranges from death, rebirth, a theme of internal destruction from All Quiet on the Western Front, and even depth perception, according to who you ask. Given Kojimas penchant for movies, I'd guess the Western Front one
The one line that stuck with me through the whole series, playing MGSV as my first Metal Gear, and seeing the quote at the end: “Another day in a proxy war without end”. Because that’s the summary of the entire series, proxy wars against groups that want to control the world or push their ideology by using other forces or people to further their goals, all originating from a single soldier that wanted to see a unified peaceful world. I often use the quote IRL, usually when watching the news or studying history at university, because that ending stuck with me hardcore
Love that if you skip the cutscene of Ocelot spinning his guns he's still spinning them when the fight starts. Same with the Tutorial of MGS2, if you skip the tranq explanation you start with a full mag as Snake fires one in the cutscene you skipped.
to clarify, otacon was under aged and raped by his stepmother he didn't want any part of it, huey the bastard also tried to drown emma on purpose which is further supported by every other appearance in both peace walker and phantom pain

14:44 about that, in one of the tapes in MGSV Huey also calls her "he" but he also says no one knows if dr Clark is a man or woman because very few people have actually met her and there is almost no info about her. this was definitely done in order to address the plot hole in mgs 1 after people started pointing it out rather than it being planned but it still means that Naomi referring to Clark as he is canon.
@@browncoat697 If my memory is right the only other appearance is in portable ops, but that game canonically happens only a few years after 3, every other game dr. Clark is only mentioned.
@@dumbino7745 Damn, it's pure fanon/made up but I'm rolling with it until we get evidence otherwise about Dr. Clark - Clark transitioned sometime after MGS3/Portable Ops, hence why Clark is referred to using male pronouns in all subsequent games.
This has to be the best told version of the Metal Gear Solid series. I figured I was going to watch this bit by bit, but boy I was wrong. your commentary and opinion of the games hooked me the whole time. Thanks for putting this out. I always wanted to better understand the Metal Gear Solid story, but I never found a video that went over it as well as yours. Can't wait to watch more of your content too.
I always read the finale of Revengeance as Raiden taking what Armstrong said to heart and, essentially, becoming a terrorist and taking a fight against the big corp
I completely agree after just finishing the game for the forst time yesterday, his whole thing is how he regrets what he did has jack the ripper but can't help but feel that he loved it at the same time. In the beginning he's so hell bent on holding back and wanting to do things with a level head but is weaker for it. Treating his sword has "justice" and not a weapon like sam told him. By the fight with monsoon, he's fully convinced by sam to let loose and give in to his instincts amd desires, the only diffrence is, he's a "bad guy" to the bad guys. Becoming a force of death to those who already choose there fate, he's just there to give them what they looked for!!!! Hes almost like a good version of the bad guy from no country for old men. God i love the game and wish it wasn't 4 hours lol.
2:44:52 - You absolutely can see the twist that it's Solidus' body and not Boss's, i did so as a dumb 13 year old my first time through. Solidus and Big Boss lost different eyes, if anything it's a weird plot hole that Big Mama doesn't notice this (or does and treats Solidus like Boss in her final moments for whatever reason)
Every time I hear the Old Snake track, I get goosebumps. 6/10 or not, the story had some seriously gut-wrenching moments. Naomi her speech after uploading Sunnys virus? Damn near brought me to tears. The fight between Solid and Liquid Ocelot? Genius in every detail. Going back to Shadow Moses? Fanservice at its best, but my god was it nostalgic! MGS1 was the first game in the series I played as a kid, and being back there, fighting Howling Wolf where you originally fought and killed Sniper Wolf was beautiful. Even the audio flashback in the corridor where Jaeger absolutely destroys the genome soldiers in MGS1 catapulted me back into my 12 year old self sitting in front of my tiny TV, absolutely enthralled at the beauty that was MGS1. MGS4 is definitely more an interactive stealth/action movie than a game, but it's a great movie. And seeing as how Kojima has always had a love for movie directing and originally didn't want to make MGS4, it stands to reason he just wanted to do what he was passionate about, directing a movie. My opinion is enormously biased though, because I absolutely loved MGS1, and it jump-started my love for the entire Metal Gear story universe.
Exactly, this game was for everyone who didn't expect the 4th one to come out. It hit all of the original players really well, especially for its time. He was wayyy too harsh on that game.

2:55:40 Ammm no, the nanomachines and therapy was to implant Liquid personality on Ocelot, he is not acting, "it is" Liquid. In MGS2, Liquid appears "out of nowhere" simply because thetreatment wasn't finish.
2:10:24 Johnny is also in MGS2. Use the directional microphone when Emma walks behind the pillars on the Strut L oil fence and you can hear the dialogue.
Gingy, I love your Retrospectives. You have a very logical and unbiased take on games and help really iron out the pros and cons and if someone should or confirm if they don't like a current game
Call me sad, but one of my crowning achievements was hunting down and collecting the complete physical versions of every Metal Gear games (even the gameboy games and the gamecube release). I am infatuated with this series.
I will not call you sad, i will in fact count myself jealous. Congratulations on completing the collection my guy, some of the earlier releases are super difficult to source, especially nowadays with the digital age being so prevalent
4:46:45 i've read a comment and it does feel like it. that, chapter 2's repeat missions is an allegory of "Revenge doesn't change things for the better". everything stays the same after defeating skull face. the game is really good at making you feel Phantom Pain. for better or for worse
My favourite part of the absurdity of Ocelot and Liquid is how in reality Ocelot was somehow outsmarting everyone and wasn't actually Liquid, just pretending he was so he could achieve Big Boss' idea of the Boss' Will. Also, Armstrong's plan was actually to use war to destroy war as a business so he could replace the status qou and make a land where people are actually given what they worked for through their strength of will, so although you got it partially right, it wasn't completely. His two music tracks are also the only ones that are from Raiden's perspective, the first with Excelsius being his perceived idea of Armstrong's plan, the second with the actual boss fight being what Raiden realises his plan actually was, in which Raiden takes his ideology and carries it on his own way at the end of the game. Honestly though, the best moment in the series is definitely the execution of your infected crew.
Always facisnating to hear perspectives years after the original release Been 24 years since I first played this masterpiece and it’s still amazing to this day
Not wanting to sound rude but Jesus you're old haha. Always great to see veterans of this great franchise still heaving a place in their hearts for it.
Me too! It's refreshing because I feel like people of the generation all came to sort of the similar conclusions about the games and having someone new come in and pick it all up themselves in a different time period gives a breath of fresh air.
Also the solidus body switch out with big boss is hinted at prior to the reveal. With the opposing eyes being lost by Solidus and Big boss. The game also explains it really was Liquid possessing Ocelot way back in mgs2, but mgs4 tells us that Ocelot removed the arm post mgs2 in order to prevent Liquid from taking control again and at that point he really was gone for good and so Ocelot went the hypnotise himself route. You can choose to not kill the b&b core. If you tranq them instead allowing them to confront their own trauma.

So you mentioned not finding a connection to the "Here's To You" song in GZ but its kind of obvious. Big Boss is an anarchist. The MSF logo is meant to resemble Pangea to show a world without borders, a common anarchist belief. They also view governments to be inherently unethical, again, a common anarchist belief.
Ive probably watched over of 100 hours of think pieces, retrospectives and playthroughs of these games (which I’ve played multiple times myself aside for MGS1) and less than halfway thru this video, you’ve already made me go ooooh now I get it at least 3 or 4 times. I rly thought I understood everything so I’m really impressed. Good fkn shit bro
One giant hint that it’s not actually big boss. His eye is intact. Looks like it was blinded via chemical when the real boss had it obliterated by a bullet
I never played a single MGS game. I only watched one of my college roommates play 4 when it first came out. But thanks to this video, I now see the rich story behind it. Thank you for this!
One thing: In the MGS4 section, you said there was no foreshadowing for the twist about Big Boss's body actually being Solidus, and I'm breaking my rule about never leaving comments to let you know that the answer was right in front of us the whole time. If you look closely, you'll see that the body is missing the wrong eye. Big Boss lost his right eye, while Solidus lost his left in the Harrier fight during MGS2.
He is a guy who has no idea what he is talking about and is also incredibly disrespectful to the art of the game by simply referring to it as a "slideshow". Take everything he says with a grain of salt.
This was one of the greatest videos I've ever seen. Took one of the most needlessly complicated and hard to digest at times series and made it easy to follow. I just listened to this whole thing in one sitting and am throughly impressed.
Thank you Gingy for going over this trilogy. I also really appreciated how you would give a short summary of your thoughts when you had completed a game. Got me more hyped for this video and it’s fantastic

I cleaned the house and did a weeks worth of school to this. Thank you for this wonderful video. I’ve always been a bit intrigued by this game series, but this is BEYOND what I expected.
The Dr Clark "gender swap" is explained as a way to cover her true identity. Obviously, this wasnt planned during MGS1, but I think it is a good explanation. Not sure if this counts as a retcon.
This video kept me occupied during my drive from the East Coast to Texas. I already love MGS, and it's always great listening and learning more background about it.
If you want more backstory on the different bosses from Dead Cell or Cobra Unit, you have to codex call your team members, and they will give you more info about them
Yeah I didn't really like how he glanced over deadcell and especially the kobras. As the kobras were my favorite group of bosses ahead of foxhound from mgs. So it kinda irked me that he wasn't a fan of them and glossed them over so quick when they do in fact have a backstory to them. You just have to use the codec after the fights.
@Arsonaught you're right it's a bummer as I love hours long videos going over the metal gear solid history and story. Sadly him not being a fan of some of my favorite bosses in the saga is a let down. As I loved the ends and the sorrows fight in mgs3 a ton. Plus they have an amazing character background that he never touched on at all. Like the end is the og sniper, and a huge reason why parasites are a main theme in mgsv as the end had them to allow him to photosynthesis. And the sorrow was the bosses lover who ended up on opposite sides of the cold war forcing the boss to shoot him and hes the father to ocelot one of the main characters of the series. And to glance them over is such a shame.
@@fishy0929I mean telling their backstories in optional codecs after the fact is horrible writing and makes them have much less impact. Compare that to mgs1 where they tell their backstory within the actual game.
Your videos being opinion pieces is what makes me like them so much I want to hear people’s opinions and not just a stuffy summary/ retelling of plot You being opinionated is a huge part of your content’s charme and why I like your story critiques so much
Finally finished the video! It's really good as always, had to take time to watch it all since I can't digest all the information in one sitting, thanks for the great content and continue to make good videos
Well, I'm a 30 year old man, who wanted to refresh myself on all of MGS while playing Runescape. I really appreciate what you've done. Almost 6 hours.. You're a goddamn champion
I really loved the ending twist with venom snake... the idea that you, an ordinary nobody, essentially became big boss through all the epic battles of the story was so sublime. On one hand, you're just a nameless anon, not the famous hero... on the other, by impersonating the famous hero you matched his feats and became one in your own right. Becoming a legend by the ultimate "fake it til you make it" scheme, and the shocking reveal was, for me, a perfect ending. I also think people are too hard on MGS V for being "incomplete" and all its flaws. This is the cost of ambition, sometimes... this game was one of, if not THE most sophisticated 3D action games ever at the time of its release. From the stunning graphics to the sheer variety of game mechanics, complex enemy behavior, smooth open world, etc. i personally think it was unmatched. I can forgive the jank when we got the ultimate stealth game anyway. I think MGS V also marked the end of an era for game design as a whole. With the departure of Kojima, I don't think there were any AAA (AAAA, even) games that were allowed to go so far off the rails to suit the whims of an idiosyncratic director. Over time budgets grew, investors invested, and profits needed to be secured. As a result, these days there are endless complaints of AAA playing it too safe. Kojima was the last guy (at least as far as i know) to seemingly have a blank check with a first class development studio behind him.
Gingy, my man. You are a freaking amazing creator and this video is another great one but MY GUY, I genuinely hope that you get some rest or take a vacay because an almost six hour vid going through a lot of games. I don’t think I could do it bro
Only 40ish minutes in. Thank you for creating this! I actually enjoyed the sci-fi and magical aspects to it. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a huge RPG nerd and love those magical aspects to them. MGS was very unique during its time. I was only a teenager when these games came out but had a huge impact on me.
Miller did know the plan from the beginning, the talk at the end with Ocelot was before Venom awakened. That's why he helped V (to bring down the real Big Boss, that's why he's so furious and revenge filled). BB didn't trust him anymore after working with Cipher in secret in Peace Walker.
These games were my youth/teenage years. I still consider 1998 one of the greatest years in gaming in my eyes, two masterpieces that felt well above the curve were released. Metal Gear Solid, with its gripping story, innovative gameplay, memorable characters and moments, for example the Psycho Mantis control port swap/ memory card psychic reading occurrences and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I've played both games so many times and returned to them years later to relive the nostalgia and they still survive the test of time as some of the greatest games I've ever played. Me and my friend who share the same passion for the MGS series would beat the series over and over, opting to play our second playthroughs on Extreme/European Extreme difficulties (the top difficulty) which meant mastering enemy patrols and careful concise boss battles, and challenging one another to have the most smoothest, professional -esce gameplay and I will forever love those memories. I feel bad that Kojima was robbed of his gem to the gaming industry, but he did have time to give us some great bodys of work. I appreciate your retrospective of this series and your open perspective to have had played these not upon release but still appreciate what they must've meant at the time of release. That being said great job on this video!, you've gained a fan and subscriber.
has anybody ever made the connection that the reason otacon loves anime mecha so much is because his dad put him in a freaking metal gear when he was a baby. also strange love admits in a tape that she had no feelings for huey and just wanted a child
This guy just sat there and called the entire cobra unit "filler"? 😂😂 Great Video btw I disagree with many of your view points and agree on many others, you probably don't love this game as much as many of us do, childhood and teenage influence is powerful, but you did the 6 hours video and I watched it entirely, I respect your work and appreciate a well structure critic even if I dont agree with some points, Genichiro/Sword Saint Ishinn arena is probably a reference to that Boss Final Battle and for me MGS3 is the best one although I'll admit it was my first MG and I was a teen so I am clearly bias but oh men that game is near perfect in my eyes, it hurt to hear your disregard to the boss fights. Thanks for the effort you did an excellent job summarizing every single game thats a monumental task.
You explained it soo well and when there a moment that you talk non game related it wasn't getting out from the point , now i understand the series Man fantastic job 👏 Keep on doing this in all games
Since this is huge and I'll probably take a while to finish it, I am very excited to hear your takes, mgs is such a special game to me and I always love seeing people talk about it😁 Edit: awesome work! Out of the whole thing once you got to 4 I can get why things probably started feeling downward especially going to 5 but overall least it still has lots of great stuff that makes them memorable. Also fun fact MGSV nuke ending does not require disarming everyone, turns out if you have a nuke and I believe you need to be offline? It will still work when you disarm your nuke. That's how I got my achievement for it just a heads up for those wondering, I think there is a video for it? Overall I loved the video!
One thing I like with Sam and raiders first encounter is that Sam seems to show disdain for raiden when he says this. This funnily enough is shown in the jetstream Sam dlc where the two are very similar in ideology toward the begging of their respective campaigns, but by the end raiden has still kept some of his ideals of fighting for justice while Sam has mostly dropped these ideals. And I think( if I’m interpreting the song right) the only thing I know for real reflects how this happened for Sam.
There's an explanation to the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo/Patriot thing that someone would only recognize if they know about the concept of shibboleths, and the Japanese language. A shibboleth is a word or phrase (sometimes a question) that's used by soldiers, spies, and officials of a country to determine whether or not a person (or a group of people) they're speaking to are legitimately who they claim to be. The term originates in Judaism and refers to the word itself being used to conclusively determine the origins of a specific person (and they're pronunciation revealing an accent). In regards to the Japanese language, there isn't a rhotic (r) sound, so non-Japanese words with the letter (L) would often sound and be reproduced as something similar to an (R) sound, as if you're about to roll your R's. So, La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo, when rendered in English by English speakers, wouldn't be able to be easily reproduced by a native speaker of Japanese. Their inability to do so would show that they're not aligned with the Patriots, and are thus enemies. There's even a historical precedent that Kojima perhaps drew from. In WWII, American soldiers in the Pacific theater would use the term "Lollapalooza" as a Shibboleth to suss out Japanese soldiers who were pretending to be American or Filipino, who when asked to repeat the term, would say something to the effect of "Rorraparooza". They would then be shot on sight.
Important to note that in the MGSV Novel they say that after saving Venom Quiet self-immolates in the desert to prevent the parasite spreading. After the hours of playing with her as a buddy as well as the great scenes she has at mother base, this fact contextualized with her theme song is heartbreaking.
The reason mgs4 is not being released on other consoles is because its very difficult to convert ps3 games to other systems. For this reason we dont have ports from other ps3 exclusive games like the first two Infamous games and the Resistance trilogy. Its a real shame because I would pick up any of those games in an instant. Same for mgs4!
It's funny how you find it so absurd that Otacon's name and personality revolve around liking anime. I've met several people exactly like this, lol. Also, several of them are engineers. Not a critique of the vid, I'm really enjoying it, and looking forward to the rest!
Knowing people like this obviously isn't absurd, making a character personality in an action/adventure/espionage story revolve around this is obviously kind of weird.
I just finished video and man what a ride! I had always been curious about the lore/story of MGS, and the way you put it all together was brilliant! Looking forward to whatever you do after Spec Ops the Line! I highly recommend either the Metro or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series!

@@Domura i just wanted to point that out cuz he said he likes when the twist gets hinted and seemed very pissed that this wasn't the case, he might have missed that but the hint is there
I always feel that way about media. I'll pick up a small detail like that in something and chalk it up to a mistake lmao
Was about to comment exactly that lol
@@visassess8607lol yeah I remember playing mgs2 and being disappointed that Campbell felt more generic and not like a real person only to realize that’s because he isn’t
I don't know if I've watched enough lore videos to finally understand the series after years of not getting it or you are incredible with how you explain in your videos.
I think it's because you're an awesome teacher. Between the visuals and your in-depth look I really appreciate it. I have tried to understand this series and I think I finally have a handle on to it thanks to you!
He’s off on a lot of things though, he clearly didn’t actually play the games. He browsed Reddit, copy and pasted their ideas, then made a video.
I didn't think I'd end up watching this whole thing, but piece by piece, I did. Must have been a monumental task getting this out there!
In Metal Gear 3, Ocelot isn't... necessarily... giving a meow as the signal, but, rather, the distinct call of a natural ocelot, in the vein of people giving natural bird calls and whistles, for the same effect.
It's still goofy as all hell and I cannot stop chuckling over it.
meow but bigger
@@PunishthefalseThe paradox death is hilarious as well, Zero : "Snake what have you done you created a time paradox" 😂😂
"The distinct call of an ocelot" the denial is overwhelming
And what group of animals are ocelots, again?
The main tell that venom is a doppelgänger is that rescuing Kaz is one of the first things you do after creating a character and when kaz says “what took you so long?”, Venom says “we’ll talk, but not here”
It's been a while since I've played some MGS so could you explain just a bit
@@Old_Soul_ShimiBig Boss would have immediately responded with “Kept you waiting huh?”
He’s kind of a dork but that’s endearing
@@Old_Soul_Shimi in every game when Snake rescues or meets Kazuhira, their butt-buddies line is to say "What took you so long", said by Kaz and Snake's answer is "kept you waiting, huh?".
MGSV gives it away that there's SOME shenanigans going on because Snake supposedly has all his memories past the helicopter bomb incident but he responds to Kazuhira by saying a completely different line ("we will talk, but not here").
I played this game on the same couch with a friend of mine and we were, on that spot, already like "huh??" when we didn't get the delivery
@@XtoGTA I mean that's exactly what I thought you all meant, but since you can press the button to respond to Kaz yourself I kind of thought nothing of it, since you yourself can miss out on saying it
@@Old_Soul_Shimieven when you do press the button, venom sounds kinda confused as he says it
bro "we live and die by your order boss" hits so fucking hard these men are so loyal to big boss and his ideals they are willing to die to save the world
And you wouldn’t be willing to die to save the world?
23:00 broken out by grey fox? I poured ketchup on myself, laid down and jumped the guard when he came in to check on me...i never realized there was an alternate option from escaping yourself.
i his under the bed lmao
What you said about language and culture rings very true
As a Welsh person, one of the original English colonies and one of the less then a million left that still speak it, I've been watching my language die before my eyes for the past 2 decades
As a Lancastrian I'd like to apologise for the loss of your language, I'm old enough to remember The Sons of Glyndwr and rather admired their campaign against colonists second houses.
I can’t tell you how much I love you for doing this series Gingy.
Can't imagine the amount of feels you must been through playing those games one after another for the first time. Awesome
Long-form videos like this are perfect for me to fall asleep to and absorb the info in weird dreams
And then wake up and watch in chunks over time
14:44 about that, in one of the tapes in MGSV Huey also calls her "he" but he also says no one knows if dr Clark is a man or woman because very few people have actually met her and there is almost no info about her. this was definitely done in order to address the plot hole in mgs 1 after people started pointing it out rather than it being planned but it still means that Naomi referring to Clark as he is canon.
Shit man, maybe Dr. Clark just wound up being a trans man and nobody figured it out. Has Clark showed up directly in any MGS after 3?
Dude, that line from the president you held on in MGS2 was a great quote. "Without free will there is no difference between submission and rebellion."
I saw another 6 hours long video that said she did that on purpose to fool Liquid.
Plus he’s all burned up cause of the final fight in mgs2 I think
She knew it was solidus. The real body was hidden
@@Arsonaught a new fan of the series wouldnt get it
@@rex_jupiter @rex_jupiter Hi a new fan of the series here, and MGS4 is easily my second favorite of the series. No clue why it gets the most shit out've all of em
It is truly a braver man than I to try and actually follow the story of this series, let alone condense it into a video like this.
I am infatuated with this series.
yess , the gamecube MGS2 with the skateboard unlockable
Naw that's a flex bro!
Always facisnating to hear perspectives years after the original release

Mgs4 will always be a 10/10 for me, those nostalgia goggles have a stranglehold on me
Yeah dude. He legit insulted MGS 4
MGS 4 is incredible. I always find strange how people dislike this game.

4 was trash and you’re lying to yourself to say otherwise.

I cannot believe how quickly you made this video! I feel like you just beat the series :D Awesome content Gingy!
I can't believe how dirty you did the MGS3 ladder. IT'S A WORK OF ART.
@@fishy0929he has a lot of complaints that are very biased, he's overtly negative it's kind of a bummer
The Dead Cell and Cobra Units are what I remember from those games the most, all this time later
What a fantastic way to be introduced to your channel! Thanks for the efforts and all the time you saved me!

14:50 "I'm definitely making this more complicated than it needs to be" "Kojima: ...You have my attention."
Well, I'm a 30 year old man, who wanted to refresh myself on all of MGS while playing Runescape. I really appreciate what you've done. Almost 6 hours.. You're a goddamn champion
2:44:49 there is actually chint, solidus had left eye injured, while big boss had right eye injured.
love your dedication to make a video of this length with such detail, great work!
You are a legend. Mega work. Been following your community posts and its great to see the video is launched.
Jokes on you, I’m a truck driver. Thank you for helping me get through half of my shift! Good video to listen too!
Gingy, my man. You are a freaking amazing creator and this video is another great one but MY GUY, I genuinely hope that you get some rest or take a vacay because an almost six hour vid going through a lot of games. I don’t think I could do it bro
This made me thrilled. I absolutely loved your Mass Effect commentary series. Now you're on my first love: MGS
MGS4 was my first Metal Gear. Even with all its faults and fan threats during creation it still has a special place in my heart ❤️
MGS4 is incredible!
With the switch port being announced the timing of this video was truly perfect

This guy just sat there and called the entire cobra unit "filler"? 😂😂
Great Video btw I disagree with many of your view points and agree on many others, you probably don't love this game as much as many of us do, childhood and teenage influence is powerful, but you did the 6 hours video and I watched it entirely, I respect your work and appreciate a well structure critic even if I dont agree with some points, Genichiro/Sword Saint Ishinn arena is probably a reference to that Boss Final Battle and for me MGS3 is the best one although I'll admit it was my first MG and I was a teen so I am clearly bias but oh men that game is near perfect in my eyes, it hurt to hear your disregard to the boss fights.
Thanks for the effort you did an excellent job summarizing every single game thats a monumental task.
Just....WOW. Props dude, this deserves so many views
Gotta love the timing with the master collection announcement
You explained it soo well and when there a moment that you talk non game related it wasn't getting out from the point , now i understand the series

Since this is huge and I'll probably take a while to finish it, I am very excited to hear your takes, mgs is such a special game to me and I always love seeing people talk about it😁
Edit: awesome work!
Amazing! Well done! ❤ My favorite series, and I watched this entire video in 1 sitting, reliving all of the great memories from these games.
Just remember ladies and gents, the cutscenes total time In mgs4 alone are almost double the length of this video.... absolutely crazy
Wow, what a great video. Had to watch it over a few days. Well done and thank you!
I'm glad for this video! This series defined what I expected from games, absolute perfection
I highly recommend either the Metro or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series!
Will definitely be doing both Metro and STALKER most likely back to back as well. I might do it closer to the release STALKER 2 assuming it’s still coming out this year.

And kodex calls are an all time classic, how dare you talk bad on them. And if you lay in the corner on sniper Wolf fight and stay aimed it's a lot easier
1:45:50 There are tricks to beating Volgin actually, you can find out he's afraid of tree frogs and if you toss them on the ground he'll focus on killing them, you can also put on the mask of his lover to make him vulnerable for a moment.
I best him with a handkerchief and felt so smart. I was 14.
