The sucky part is, is that if it means saving the ship, or time critical, you have to leave sailors behind, or let them drown. Im a sailor and we are taught that no matter what the feelings towards them are, if you wanna save them, you leave them to die if it means saving the ship; i.e. sailors trapped behind a flooding watertight hatch. it sucks, but its what has to be done.

I swear in this game i always felt bad for the enemy im shooting. They react really humanly and are visibly panicking every time they're getting shot at. Perfect example is 22:07. It doesn't just feel like you interrupted his run animation and triggered a death animation. It actually feels like the guy saw his squad is dropping like flies, his position is about to be overrun, he needs to switch cover and as he does he's thinking "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUUUCK" Those were probably his last rational thoughts. Coupled with the fact that the fictional war in 4 feels so real, i get sad seeing all the soldiers dying for seemingly just politics and crazy wars, even from the player's perspective.

Irish reminds me of Sgt. Rico from Killzone 1-3. Sometime he deviates away from his current orders and cause problems within the chain of command but still does it bc it's the right thing to do even if the situation seems dire, just like Rico who almost threw his life away and defied the Cpt. Narville's orders to save Cpl. Jammer's squad. These men could look like stubborn rebels but they'll always be heroes in my book.
I wish modern games would try and at least make their cinematics more realistic. Not a single Navy in the world would have fleet vessels that close while on alert status. Obvious reasons: - Weapon Arcs If the fleet has inbound surface skimming weapons that have made it through 1st and 2nd stage defensive counters, the vessels within the fleet are EXTREMELY limited as to their ability to effectively employ their final line of defense, CWIS. - AO Situational Awareness Various ships within a fleet have specific roles and are more capable than other vessels within that role. For example, the fleets Cruisers are generally used for ASW operations, while Destroyers maintain a high focus on AAW operations. If you cluster all these vessels in extremely close proximity, you limit the fleets ability to detect at maximum range. A surface vessels biggest defense against threats is detecting the threat at maximum range, so as to allow several chances at eliminating the threat before having to rely on CWIS. This is why fleets generally have 1-3nm spacing between vessels. Granted, this is not very cinematic, but, for those of us who understand proper military procedures. It would be a welcome sight. Other issues I have with the mission... - EMP attack... EMP hasn't been a credible threat to US Navy Fleets for several decades now. Nearly every vessel in service in the US Navy is designed to be extremely resistant to EMP. So why is this even an issue? The game should be pretty much; "We were hit with a targetted EMP" "Ack, focus resources on OTH scans. Expect imminent LRASM attack." - "General Quarters! General Quarters! All hands man your battle station! This is not a Drill!" Having just been under attack within 24hrs and retrieving several hundreds of people from the sea... Why was the fleet not already at "General Quarters"? Is it seriously the case that EA wrote a story that involves a fleet being effectively incapacitated (due to BS reasons), yet the fleet just keeps casually sailing? Forget the "EMP" attack, considering EA thinks the fleet is so stupid, let's just assume that someone pressed the wrong button, which is why the ship has so many issues... - A fleet of Naval vessels couldn't see a 800+ ft Nimitz Class carrier burning until they were alongside at a range of 400ft? Do I seriously need to make comment here? EA... Wow... Just wow... That is simply a lazy script. - Titan splits in half... Why? Apparently, all the damage was caused by Chinese ASM's... So, the keel was still intact... Google why the keel is the reason for stability, I can't be bothered explaining... Put simply, technology has come a LONG way since the Titanic (where EA got their inspiration from apparently). Military vessels are designed with the thought, "this ship needs to be able to be hit with weaponry and still be able to get safe"... - LHD is overrun by such a small force of Chinese? Did I miss something here? A small detachment of Chinese was able to seize control of a MILITARY vessel which was fully crewed and had a Marine detachment on board... Also, how the fuck were the Chinese Helo's able to get within 5 miles of the LHD... Okay, maybe in some BS way, AEGIS was taken out... But, was the Datalink also taken out? Every ship within a fleet shares its information with the other vessels, so, if one ship loses RADAR, the other ships can still provide the picture for it. Secondly, CWIS doesn't solely rely on the ships RADAR... For this EXACT scenario (Radar malfunction), CWIS has its own onboard Radar in which it uses to engage ANYTHING that doesn't return a positive IFF. *Major facepalm* More lazy scriptwriting. - Need to get a lock on before firing a stinger? What? No... The ONLY reason you wait for the electronic growl is to ensure you are targetting the right aircraft. Stingers will seek ANY heat source. They have NO WAY of knowing friend or foe... So, the operator points at the target they intend to shoot and will here an electronic growling, noise. This lets them know that the seeker head on the missile is tracking a heat signature. You can fire a stinger "pitbull" (without any growl). Not recommended, but, at THAT range... Pretty fucken safe to do so... Just literally point, "BACKBLAST" then fire. EA... Please stop just trying to find the quickest way to grab money by producing half-arsed games, relying solely on title popularity. Why not put the effort into a decent script? Can't be that fucken hard... Let's be honest.
It is a video game... EA actually use the terms 'realistic immersion' when explaining what they are trying to achieve for the players... Why not follow through? Can you imagine how awesome a campaign would be if it had proper writing and not this lazy shit... Imagine playing through with cinematics accurately showing what woukd be involved. Scene: LHD engages multiple squadrons of inbound helo's. all CWIS mounts are spewwing 100,000's of ammunition at inbound helo's. Overwhelmed CWIS are engaged and destroyed as they are unable to take out inbound missile threats while dealing with helo's. Now, the player enters, helo's are making it to the deck... The marine detachment are engaged trying to repell the attack.

Battlefield 4’s campaign was an emotional and thrilling ride from start to finish, indeed. I’m really eager to see what DICE has to offer after BF V’s lackluster campaign, although I’m currently loving the multiplayer component’s full lobies; great community; and generally vast variety of maps and gear. I cannot wait to play Battlefield VI on my gaming PC, and enjoy it as a launch title for the PS 5! 🔥😊🤞🏻

ngl sinking an irl USA ACC would be really hard, the US Gvt tried to sink one a few decades back to see how much it could handle, took alot of missiles and bombs to even scratch it. In the end they had to place bombs on the weakspots (inside the ACC) just to sink it.
yeah they had to professionally scuttle the ship, but with hypersonic missiles, i think its more then enough to take one down, though which is more expensive, those missiles or the carriers

While likely, the risks involve ranging from economic meltdown (for China and the world at large) to massive riots in China's backyard and a possible defeat that would totally cripple them in the long run is usually enough to keep the Chinese (and pretty much anyone in the world) under that line, those military tech they're making is just flexing muscles, They're not gonna punch, it's too risky.
The reason why the US can still pound other nations like Iran is because Iran isn't a big economic influence for the most part (There's a host of other nations willing to export oil).

Never played the game but where was the Carrier escort group for the titan? Never do they go out alone because of what you see on video. Easy targets
Well if you paid attention you would have known all the ships were shot down and the only survivor was a US merchant navy ship, literally on the ride back to the ship on this mission you see jets dropping JDAMS on ships

Damn. After joining the Navy that General Quarters call really got me tensed up. I can only imagine what it would be like just walking through the USS Nimitz then all of a sudden seeing and hearing the call. Really got me anxious. This mission and game was great.

@@luchiani1171 Walking the wrong way when removing chocks off an E-2 Hawkeye and walking straight into a prop. Getting blasted off the deck by jetwash and falling 3 decks onto the L. Cable snaps ripping dudes legs clean off. Stuff like that.

Irish reminds me of Sgt. Rico from Killzone 1-3. Sometime he deviates away from his current orders and cause problems within the chain of command but still does it bc it's the right thing to do even if the situation seems dire, just like Rico who almost threw his life away and defied the Cpt. Narville's orders to save Cpl. Jammer's squad. These men could look like stubborn rebels but they'll always be heroes in my book.
I wish modern games would try and at least make their cinematics more realistic.
Not a single Navy in the world would have fleet vessels that close while on alert status.
Obvious reasons:
- Weapon Arcs
If the fleet has inbound surface skimming weapons that have made it through 1st and 2nd stage defensive counters, the vessels within the fleet are EXTREMELY limited as to their ability to effectively employ their final line of defense, CWIS.
- AO Situational Awareness
Various ships within a fleet have specific roles and are more capable than other vessels within that role. For example, the fleets Cruisers are generally used for ASW operations, while Destroyers maintain a high focus on AAW operations.
If you cluster all these vessels in extremely close proximity, you limit the fleets ability to detect at maximum range.
A surface vessels biggest defense against threats is detecting the threat at maximum range, so as to allow several chances at eliminating the threat before having to rely on CWIS.
This is why fleets generally have 1-3nm spacing between vessels. Granted, this is not very cinematic, but, for those of us who understand proper military procedures. It would be a welcome sight.
Other issues I have with the mission...
- EMP attack...
EMP hasn't been a credible threat to US Navy Fleets for several decades now.
Nearly every vessel in service in the US Navy is designed to be extremely resistant to EMP. So why is this even an issue?
The game should be pretty much;
"We were hit with a targetted EMP"
"Ack, focus resources on OTH scans. Expect imminent LRASM attack."
- "General Quarters! General Quarters! All hands man your battle station! This is not a Drill!"
Having just been under attack within 24hrs and retrieving several hundreds of people from the sea...
Why was the fleet not already at "General Quarters"?
Is it seriously the case that EA wrote a story that involves a fleet being effectively incapacitated (due to BS reasons), yet the fleet just keeps casually sailing?
Forget the "EMP" attack, considering EA thinks the fleet is so stupid, let's just assume that someone pressed the wrong button, which is why the ship has so many issues...
- A fleet of Naval vessels couldn't see a 800+ ft Nimitz Class carrier burning until they were alongside at a range of 400ft?

A small detachment of Chinese was able to seize control of a MILITARY vessel which was fully crewed and had a Marine detachment on board...
Also, how the fuck were the Chinese Helo's able to get within 5 miles of the LHD...
Okay, maybe in some BS way, AEGIS was taken out... But, was the Datalink also taken out?
Every ship within a fleet shares its information with the other vessels, so, if one ship loses RADAR, the other ships can still provide the picture for it.
Secondly, CWIS doesn't solely rely on the ships RADAR...
For this EXACT scenario (Radar malfunction), CWIS has its own onboard Radar in which it uses to engage ANYTHING that doesn't return a positive IFF.
*Major facepalm*
More lazy scriptwriting.
- Need to get a lock on before firing a stinger?
What?
No... The ONLY reason you wait for the electronic growl is to ensure you are targetting the right aircraft.
Stingers will seek ANY heat source. They have NO WAY of knowing friend or foe... So, the operator points at the target they intend to shoot and will here an electronic growling, noise.
This lets them know that the seeker head on the missile is tracking a heat signature.
You can fire a stinger "pitbull" (without any growl).
Not recommended, but, at THAT range... Pretty fucken safe to do so...
Just literally point, "BACKBLAST" then fire.
EA... Please stop just trying to find the quickest way to grab money by producing half-arsed games, relying solely on title popularity.
Why not put the effort into a decent script?

Overwhelmed CWIS are engaged and destroyed as they are unable to take out inbound missile threats while dealing with helo's.
Now, the player enters, helo's are making it to the deck...
The marine detachment are engaged trying to repell the attack.
What’s sad is that the US navy has EMP shielded equipment this wouldn’t happen to pretty much all their equipment

I’m really eager to see what DICE has to offer after BF V’s lackluster campaign, although I’m currently loving the multiplayer component’s full lobies; great community; and generally vast variety of maps and gear.
