Honestly not terrible cooking advice for a not-serious cooking channel, better than most serious cooking channels... Also so hilarious. The holiday suffering really comes through, like a special topping or sauce on a delicious dish.
You shred the cheese because the pre-shredded stuff has cellulose that stops it sticking together in the bag. That is why you have these clumps of cheese in your mac instead of a smooth sauce. I would also advise you to break down the (chic)turkey into its legs, wings, and whole chest before the dry brine. Then cook it on a wire rack inside of a baking tray (or a deeper pan if you really want the aromatics). This will give you a full around crisped skin as opposed to the soggy parts that would be on the under side in a whole bird cook.
nerd info for whoever cares: the idea of shredding your own cheese being better that buying preshredded is because the preshredded stuff is tossed in some sort of starch to prevent clumping together in the bag, but that also means the store bought stuff wont melt as well and make a more grainy sauce. Also shredding it yourself means the cheese wont be as oxidized and in theory will have more flavor but most people cant tell a difference and dont really care
Hang in there bro. You have an amazing channel and you've grown a lot better at cooking since I started watching your vids some time ago. You're also amazingly wholesome in a world that can always use more of that.
11:56 Pre-shredded cheese has this stuff on it that stops it from sticking together and just reforming into a clump, which is good, but that stuff also stops it from melting easily.
Former deli employee, you should grate the cheese yourself because most (almost all) pre-shredded cheeses have anti-caking agents in them (mostly cellulose) which can interfere with the sauce emulsion.
As someone who is also in the application process, it truly does suck. There’s so much writing and correspondence that goes into it and my own personal struggles this year have made it very difficult and anxiety inducing for me too. The pre-shredded cheese melts way different because they make it with some shit so the cheese doesn't stick to the bag and melts and gets sticky and shit so you should be able to tell if it is fresh or pre-shreded

Love you man I watch every video and wait in anticipation for the next. Everyone struggles with their own stuff myself include but I feel I can speak for most of the audience when I say you are truly a blessing and are appreciated
What are you talking about? This is the most real cooking channel of all that I like to watch.
Be blessed going to school bro. I went and it and it changed my life from dropping out of highschool to going to colleges and now heading to the army. Be blessed man and I hope one day I get to be on your channel not caring about what we cook lol.
21:33 that's deep. love it. All the best wishes and good luck from Germany!
I feel you so much; just got done with applying to 12 colleges, and will apply to more in the future.
And I don't feel confident on a single one of my applications lol
Wish you the best of luck!

6:28 That squirt sound when you pull that Turkey is so delicious and funny 😅
lol I was gonna ask if he made the turkey queef.
Moistest he has made a woman in years.
Unless the turkey was male, in which case he did it last week.
I hope that your school applications go well for you! I believe in you!! And will be praying for you
5:36 I’m sorry I just don’t believe those two equate each other in the oven

Good luck with the applications canoe 😮💨😮💨 i’m also drained by the stress of college and life 😭 there’s better days ahead, we’ll get through this gangatronie
'Golden probe' lol
That was a great message at the end, Canoe~ I hope you’re able to have a more positive year this upcoming new year. I hope you have many blessings~
1:34 "In terms of the herb butter you guys know that usually I skip the herbs and just go straight to the powder which is also my approach to having a fun night"
MY MAN!
This will give you a full around crisped skin as opposed to the soggy parts that would be on the under side in a whole bird cook.
love what u said at the end. wishing everyone reading this hella blessings, present and future!
nerd info for whoever cares: the idea of shredding your own cheese being better that buying preshredded is because the preshredded stuff is tossed in some sort of starch to prevent clumping together in the bag, but that also means the store bought stuff wont melt as well and make a more grainy sauce. Also shredding it yourself means the cheese wont be as oxidized and in theory will have more flavor but most people cant tell a difference and dont really care
21:40 Same 😢, the application season is just dampening my spirits.
I hope it gets better soon ❤.
Good luck with applications! I’m going through the same thing, so hopefully things go well for us both!
Good luck, Jada! You got this!
@ Thank you!
Hang in there bro. You have an amazing channel and you've grown a lot better at cooking since I started watching your vids some time ago. You're also amazingly wholesome in a world that can always use more of that.
The marshmallow is so caramelized that it absorbs light. 😊😊
Wish you luck!! Your humor sandwiched with cooking is delicious to listen to
I THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO.
11:56 Pre-shredded cheese has this stuff on it that stops it from sticking together and just reforming into a clump, which is good, but that stuff also stops it from melting easily.
12:23 pre shredded cheese has anticaking agents on it
11:30 FutureCanoe has a crush!!
I'm gonna tell her
21:45 don't worry about anything as long as you are trying you will be fine
Former deli employee, you should grate the cheese yourself because most (almost all) pre-shredded cheeses have anti-caking agents in them (mostly cellulose) which can interfere with the sauce emulsion.
Yeah don't grate the outside layer of smoked Gouda though, that's usually inedible wax
As someone who is also in the application process, it truly does suck. There’s so much writing and correspondence that goes into it and my own personal struggles this year have made it very difficult and anxiety inducing for me too. It’s a universal struggle, and I hope that reading this comment and knowing I understand how you feel can help alleviate some of it; because that’s what the end of the video did for me. Happy Thanksgiving, y’all.
Pre-shredded cheese has an anti-caking agent that prevents even melting. It also changes the taste. Fresh shred is ten times better.
Wow canoe I’m proud of you, I been here to see the whole rise to 3 mil. I knew from the start you were destined for greatness. I remember watching all your reels thinking this wasn’t enough content. You really bloomed to a beautiful flower 🌺

hi future canoe, I am currently also applying for schools and I can relate to how stressful it can be. I hope you the best, never give up, I love you!

@k2120 how did you knew, I can understand Urdu/Hindi?
the end of this video, especially not expecting to hear the classic outro song, makes me feel like life’s hard for everyone at the same time but we made it this far somehow so somehow everything’s gonna end up being all right
"Posted 30 seconds ago" Damn I have never been this quick to any damn video lmaooooo!!
I was wondering what to watch while having dinner. Well now I know! 🤣
Edit: Just finished watching this and the only thing I'm gonna say is don't give up!!
This year hasn't been particularly good for me as well. But then...that's the balance of life is all about isn't it?
I hope you'll get what you want soon. Happy thanksgiving in advance!!
Very interesting.
For me it was 30 mins 😂
❤@xaiflol same for me
wow realtalkcanoe got me real good. may the tides of change always be 7n your favour.
The pre-shredded cheese melts way different because they make it with some shit so the cheese doesn't stick to the bag and melts and gets sticky and shit so you should be able to tell if it is fresh or pre-shreded
that particular shit if IIRC is maltodextrin
@@exempli646 Some cheeses use maltodextrin, others use Sodium Citrate and others use potato starch or other things (those are the most common I've found) but I didn't want to sound clever on the internet so i said funny words
