Thank you for the update. I took Braxton Creek off my list. At that price point there should be no issues, especially with the brakes.

The inverter converts DC battery power to AC power. For example: If you have a 1500 watt Inverter it will use the battery power to provide 1500 watts of AC power. Your length of time you have DC power available is limited to battery size. So do not plug remote AC power into the AC inverter plug to charge the battery. It is not meant for this.

Hey, happy to hear your update. I watched your original review when it first came out. If you need help with the converter, let me know, usually easy to resolve.

Wow! Thanks for confirming that for a couple a four door Jeep = a Subaru & Tear Drop. The sleeping space inside our Jeep is the size of a Full and the Deep Sleep Mats are 5” thick and easy to clean, no brakes problem as we are using the Jeep’s, no heater problem because on cold mornings we just push the button from bed and start the Jeep, we’re using Dometic GO Jugs with the electric faucet so no water problems and the electric port in the hatch area allows us to charge everything we need and with the tailgate table we get a nice “L” shaped kitchen and our cooler just like your Tear Drop. But the best part is we aren’t towing anything thus we pop into & out of view sites just like a car.
It hilarious now to think we were missing out not having a Tear Drop. The only thing we are missing is the tears!

You should watch DIY Outdoor Life. He has a Bushwhacker and he's done several upgrades. Shoot him some questions and he'll help you out. He seems to understand the electronic stuff really well.

Typical RV. Parts they use are the cheapest crap they can find.

Thanks for the honest review. I appreciate how calm you are describing these issues. You seem to have a well balanced demeanor. I'd be pissed.

People usually have a portable or installed solar panels to use sunlight to charge their batteries. Then you can get more use out of the Inverter (Battery power) for ac use such as charging cell phones, laptops or small appliances that use power within the Inverters capability.

I have a Bushwhacker as well, bought new 12/10/20 in Eldridge, IA. Towing it back to Kansas it was immediately apparent that fit and finish were real issues. When I opened it up there were metal shavings and wood dust everywhere and I continue to have at least some of that every trip I take. I have the same situation that others have had in that there is no real owners manual, and Bushwhacker seems to have the mother bird attitude. Once they've kicked the camper out of the nest don't come back. It tows fine, looks good, but I've had radio problems, battery problems, heater problems. I'll probably have air conditioner problems if I ever get to go somewhere hot. Yes, it's inexpensive, and if you like to tinker, it's probably the right camper for you. But if you aren't mechanical you'd better have some backups in place to avoid having your trip ruined.

It seems that many bushwhacker owners have the same experience that you have. The bushwhacker quality is frustrating but I am very handy and so I can fix it and customize it to my needs. I’m removing the AC unit as I rarely use it since often I travel Boondock style. The plus is the cost is so much less than a custom teardrop.

The issues mentioned are common for the entire industry. If you don’t figure how to fix it yourself you will be doing without.

Seems like all these campers come with some sort of problems. I have a couple friends that just bought brand new camper trailers and they were back to the dealer for several problems. Both of them cost around 50k. Eventually I’ll buy a good used one and enjoy the weekend with my dogs 👍

opichocal-excactly!- I researched , before buying the15FK. As much as I liked the Nu-Camp 400 and the Little Guy Max, I suspected they all could have issues. And like they said in JAWS, " I'm going to need a bigger truck! ".
Add the two together and we would have realized a costly initial outlay, even with a used truck.
My Tacoma is paid for and so is the 15FK. We will take good care of both and trade in when we want a larger camper. I hope that reasoning makes sense.
I will enjoy sprucing up the 15FK to suit our present needs. If anything major goes wrong, tear drop will go back to the dealership, complete with invoices/photos to Braxton Creek.
I am a retired corporate Senior Buyer for Fortune 500 manufacturing companies. If they are in business, they have a responsibility to legally honor their warranty and back up their dealerships.

Seeing that "Bushwacker" is a negative term.... seems like the name should be a warning and not an endorsement.

Why should the customer have to repair brakes, replace cheap products on a new camper? Bushwhacked & Braxton dealers …….are you real proud of your product? Hearing a lot of negative feedback on all of Braxton products & service. Bad juju for them.

Check for broken fuse. I had a problem and the RV mechanic had me replace the 5 amp fuse with a 10 amp. Solved the problem.

Per the thermostat, in any of my campers I try to locate it as far from the heater outlet, yet within arms reach. Had one in a toy hauler mounted directly above the heat vent. enjoy the vids keep them coming.

I have the 2021 bushwhacker for and my main issue is the air conditioner keeps overheating and shuts down and only blows hot air
I am in the middle of cutting a hole in the center of the kitchen wall and adding a vent booster fan to suck the hot air out
Have you had any issues with yours overheating

I have only used the AC a few times and then only for an hour or less just to cool down the inside. I have not had issues yet.

Bobby, I have plenty of problems with my Bushwhacker Plus. See th-cam.com/video/iyKI8tgDR4w/w-d-xo.html. My question is why are you cutting hole in the wall. Is that not the responsibility of Braxton Creek to solve your problem. I am pressing them to step-up and take responsibility for their poor workmanship and would encourage others with problems to do the same or BC will just continue to produce less than adequate products.

would you have a part number for the wheel bearings? i would like to grab a spare set to take with me .i had a similar issue with my brakes, i just cleaned the magnets up they seem to freeze up if the camper sits a while, i tow mine with a 3/4 ton pick up so i cant tell if the brakes are working till i get on loose gravel. facebook has a braxton creek bw page and theres a ton of info on fixes and issues others are having, i have been lucky i guess, only minor issues with mine. thanks for posting the video.

I considered a small trailer but then outfitted our astro instead. It sleeps 2 comfortably with lots of built in storage for water/stores etc.. can carry my MC on the hitch rack. Sometimes less is more. 😁

Thanks for this update. It was helpful. We have the 2022 Bushwacker Plus 15FK. We expected to custom fit this unit to our lifestyle. A basic tear drop. The cushions for the queen bed are ok. We may eventually do a modification to improve them. Sorry you are having issues. .
I like the 15FK because we are both under 5'7". It is roomy and easy to tow. Can stay inside on rainy days to cook breakfast and there is a small wet balth. Our Tacoma easily stores extra gear. We can kit it out with a canopy and outside camp kitchen in good weather. My Tacoma mechanic used to be an RV mechanic. He can help us, should we encounter any future repair issues. That was a deciding factor...
If we were to purchase a truck with larger towing capacity, we would buy a Little Guy Max. That is 21' and has been around long enough to have a huge following on You Tube and Face Book. LGM owners post trouble shooting and tutorials all the time. But for now, we are content to start out with the Bushwacker. The price allowed us to spend the difference on our camping accessories and also install an electric brake system in the truck. I hope your issues are resolved and you have many happy miles on the road! ~ Diane

How is their new 12 volt refrigerator working. Do you know the amp draw or how much draw on your battery. Can you weekend dry camp with one battery or do you need a 100 watt suitcase solar panel to keep your battery charged up. Any addition information on your new 15fk camper would be appreciated. Thanks

    • @dianehall5345
      @dianehall5345 3 ปีที่แล้ว

ely336-When I said our 15FK is new, we have taken one trip so far to Maine. We visited friends and boon docked in their back yard under a shady apple tree, connected to their electricity.
The 12 volt fridge is roomy compared to the 3-way. It is supposed to be a low draw unit. We have the suitcase solar and plan to keep it plugged in.
We also purchased TWO deep cycle marine batteries. At the moment, the camper is parked at our main farm to protect it from Hurricane Henri.
As soon as the sun comes out again, I will plug in the solar and turn on the fridge. I will get back to you. ~ Diane

diane hall thanks for your reply . I really appreciate it. Is your suitcase 100 or 200 watt. We stayed with the 100 watt only because my wife can't lift over 20 lbs. I picked up two US battery 232 6 volt batteries but my battery guy said need at least 200 watt solar. We will see. At least we have constant sunshine.Well our 2022 15fk shipped on Aug 12 for its long trip to Laughlin, Nv. Hope it doesn't melt. At least they are now under 120 degrees.
Any way will sure appreciate hearing how your trailer is doing. Ours won't travel a lot. Mostly to a lot in Mt Charleston. Hope you and your family stay safe. Best Regards Ed and Cindy. We are old folks so no more big trailers for us.👍😎

    • @MySeniorMoments

Yes. It is the same size as a full-sized bed. The stock foam mattress is a bit thin so I added another foam pad on top.

One TH-camr pointed out that his Bushwacker leaked through the back hatch into the kitchen area when it rained, due to an apparent design flaw in the seal/gutter system. Have you heard or experienced the same issue since making this video?????

    • @MySeniorMoments
      @MySeniorMoments  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've not had any problem with rain in the kitchen area. I have the very 1st year model of the bushwacker which in my impression might be better made than the later models.
