@richardharrold9736Sousaphones and Tubas play in the same range and are both generally in Bb and French horns are in F (I am aware that Tubas and Sousaphones exist in other Keys such as F or Eb, I'm just listing the most common forms)
@richardharrold9736 Although I can see slight similarity in the shape of the Sousaphone and French Horn that is the only similarity I see, Sousaphones are just marching Tubas and that is why John Phillips Sousa created them as an easier instrument to march.
GREAT arrangement!! Excellent video: one camera slowly panning without those annoying quick cuts that distract from the music.. And the new alto player is incredible! Lucky Chops are the BEST! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You guys are killing it for this song! 🎶🎼🎵🥁🎺 The Drummer is rocking it this solo song! 🎶🎼🥁 And Nora is also a great Tuba player in the brass band as Always! 😊👍😍 Bravo Lucky Chops! You are the best brass band in New York City! 🏙️ 🌷🌹 Love you guys! ❤🥰💜😍 Thank you for sharing with us! 🤗😇☺️🙏🏾
Nice! Serious respect for the lady with the sousaphone. But definitely all super-musicians. You make me happy - now I got this song in my head just before I go sleeping :)
That tuba be bumping I love it, the young woman playing is talented and a heart breaker, looking at her is like breathing your first breath of life, reinvigorating, something you needed and can’t live without only you didn’t know till you heard her sweet tones. She looks like she is having fun on top of it all which puts you at ease and gets you in the groove of that sweet jive.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why are people so obsessed with the lady playing sousaphone, she’s very skilled but simply not my favorite for a variety of reasons and everyone in the comments is raving about her playing and style when I wasn’t really seeing or hearing what all of you were talking about, leading me to believe that the comments are filled to the brim with bots
@@cowman3449 She may not be your cup of tea and that’s ok. But other people enjoy her. Just bc you don’t enjoy her dosn’t mean you need to insult those who do enjoy her. Maybe a brass show band isn’t what you’re into. If you are into it maybe your analyzing it way to deep. Forget everything you know have fun and enjoy the show.
OK, this is one insanely talented alto sax player, I gotta admit, but kind of missing the Leo G bari sax replacement and Dario (I think that's his name) playing higher saxes
The Chops are Lucky and there's no mistake with the editing either! I like how dynamic the camera is without causing dizziness and the character of the studio also provides a lot to look at while I listen. If there was a slot for me to step in, I totally would because it looks like so much fun!
Hello, good afternoon, I'm from Brazil, I would like to know what model the stick trombone is and the name of the trombonist, I would like to follow him on social media, he plays a lot. I've been a fan of yours since 2018
@@dominickcap8454 Actually No! Can you let me know exactly which station it is? I know NYC is notorious for having multiple stations with almost the same name ha!
On TH-cam it probably gets copyright claimed because this site is broken. On Spotify/Apple, those services will typically give a certain percentage to the performer and a certain percentage to the original writer of the song (which may not be the Jackson 5 themselves but whoever got writing credit). Most bands make their money from live shows.
@richardharrold9736 You mean like your comment is a subjective opinion? But I respect your argument that you like music that has become virtually total vocalized with one or two chords and lots of repeated pentatonic phrases. As Barnum said, no one has ever gone broke underestimating the American taste.
Man blending is just not there. Melodies and tones are being shadowed in the noise of the other instruments. Articulation is not mutual throughout the players. There’s no 1 way to play of course but unification is successful as a group. There’s no cohesive sound unlike back in the olden days of LC with Leo. There was more intonation blending and cohesive paths for the rhythms and style to travel. Now it just a bunch of noise being blasted (tuba) to create a facade. Blasting is not a musical skill and does NOT fit in all pieces/types of music. I get that it’s the bands motif but get it together guys cmon. Pick and choose. Additionally, where are the dynamics? Solos are dynamic in pressure and aggressiveness/softness but as a whole band there’s little background dynamics. Wheres the decrease? Where’s the increase when a solo/soli is played throughout the pieces? Where’s the uniformed staccato? The legato? It’s not unified. Lastly, not every solo has to be complicated; the solo is littered with chromatics and “blues”. Sometimes less is more. Use the basic pentatonic! Simple solos go a long way. Don’t lose the audience with nonsensical melodies - specifically the Alto Sax solo. Like what feeling/tone is being told through rhythm/melody? The solo takes you everywhere. There’s no start, there’s no finish. It’s a repeat of the same notes back and forth without any sense of direction. The Alto Sax does imo not have an appealing tone. Sounds novice like. Like one has only played for 7 months - Lucky Chops sounds lost and confused. Unsure of what they want to be, the bands changes should not reflect that. I remember being a novice sax player in highschool, listening to the old LC songs, projecting myself as a player and learning what it’s like to play in a band. I became a master musician because of how well you guys played! The inspiration was there! The ideas were new, original, fresh. No brass band competed with you guys. Get it together. I’m sure you inspire many still, but with better guidance, Lucky Chops can inspire more.
To the Alto player: your jaw is too low from the rear and your throat is too open. Close your tone and angle your air to flow “through” your instrument not “into” your sax. I can already tell your sax doesn’t vibrate with resonance but instead with strained brass. If you’ve ever played saxophone, and in perfect tune, and particular playing, you’ll know exactly what I mean. There’s certain times when it’s appropriate but that sound shouldn’t be consistent. You play some semitones in there which was bliss! And perfect for your tone! But your tone is not appealing in long stretches. Don’t play loud. Play strong. Sax is not a loud instrument. It’s a sexy one and yours does not sound sexy. It sounds like it came from wish. Ykw? It almost sounds like you’re overplaying your sax too. Too much air into your mouth piece. Shoot you might even have too open a mouthpiece. Try a Yamaha 4C composite with a 4 or 5 level reed. Your tone will change DRASTICALLY with such a simple mouthpiece andddd you can hit those altissimo notes wayyy easier. I would know. Ik there was a segment when you try hitting a high bar, but it sounds so strained and appears confident that you CANT play any higher. I’m a 22 yo with 4 years of jazz and commercial jazz/pop. I became a master musician my 3rd year and that’s only because of detailed training. I’m not sharing these traits to boast, I’m sharing them to show that a former sax player, who no longer plays, can hear the discrepancies and wants you to be better. You have so much potential. I’ll check back in after a few more songs. I really hope @luckychops reads my comments and takes in the advice.

As a horn player myself, I’m not loving the sound of that sousaphone. It might be the recording. It’s too light and not enough bass.
Bass line is wrong lol, don't know why but that annoys me
It needs a longer intro. Maybe one that lasts two days? Otherwise, trying to translate modern music to real instruments just doesn't work.
@richardharrold9736 Due to the fact that musical imagination died in the 1970s (and modern music has stagnated since) I think it qualifies.
