Slash from GnR taught me a really simple method , remove all old first then eyeball 2xtra inches , start at top and work your way down. one string at a time. We met at LAX while waiting for our luggage in 2006. we sat outside the tom Bradley terminal and chilled on the concrete ground while smoking Marlboros. He tuned up and signed my Les Paul before I left.!
I think after watching this I will finally be more consistent when cutting my string length. I enjoy all your videos. Happy and Safe Thanksgiving and Holiday season.
Hands down the best string changing video I've seen. This is EXACTLY how I change my strings! Only other thing I do is check that each string ball end is seated properly in the pin (and not caught on the bottom of the ball end). I love the neck rest!
Now that you have those new strings on - check out this song lesson on an Eagles Classic: th-cam.com/video/yeKOUk1aD_A/w-d-xo.html
I usually change one string at one time 😂

Great info. I’ll be changing my strings very soon. My fingers get pretty dirty when I play. Thank you

Thanks Diana and thanks for the tip!
I only used to cut mine one peg up, seems to me you have too much string on each peg, happy to be corrected if I’m wrong
I don’t have an issue. I do cut that 6th string a little shorter for that reason though.
Great video, thank you!
You are welcome. Happy to help. Thanks for watching!
You can use a soft slipper under neck too. My preferred way for 46 yrs
Great idea!
cotton seed oil is my go to fret board finisher
Sounds good!
