Such a tough thing to do having never been to a lake. Google earth is amazing for seeing older images where the water could be down and structure can be seen that is normally underwater! Helped me recently take a 2nd place finish!!!

I am part time guide / fished FLW and Choke Canyon is my home lake keeping Falcon and Sugar lake ,Mexico in the rotation to. As you know with these south Texas lakes water level is always a big factor. Choke Canyon is special because of the Hydrilla. This year is a diferent summer the lake caught about 15ft with hydrilla mat as deep as 20ft and flooded brush with hydrilla mat plugging up shollow areas 0-8ft in solid mat mixed with flooded, brush and willows. I would like to know your breakdown of the map on were you would start if you were going to fish Choke Canyon.

I live in NE Ohio and almost all fishing content is Lake Erie fishing. I live 1.5 hours from Lake Erie and have many grassy lakes near me, so I fish the local lakes more than Erie. I would love for you to be able to do any of the lakes near me. Im sure it would help more people than just me.
Portage Lakes..West Branch..Berlin Lake. This would make my day and def help the end of my fishing season. Appreciate all the great tips and knowledge you provide

Being able to read and understand a map or Google Earth is a skill that everyone should try to improve. Gone are the days of driving up to pre-fish for a tournament with nothing or just a full pool picture of the lake that has been recopied who knows how many times. Even the electronics have informative maps of most lakes on them. You make it look so easy. Thanks for sharing your thought process, we can’t find that on any map!

I’ve been fishing in a long time and learn so much from everything that you share with us. I’ve been down with several back surgeries and look forward to getting out on my boat in the next month and using all the tactics and dates that you have suggested.
