I have been looking for a clear tutorial on this foundation stitch for a few months and haven't been able to follow what's really happening and why we have to do the stitch a certain way.... always ending up with a mess.. This tutorial is the clearest way I have ever seen, the explanation the best... I have just done a foundation chain of 10 stitches and it looks amazing... Thank you, thank you....

Just want to say I like this foundation for DC. I did not know this exist. I just attempted this technique and it was easier fir me when I used a chucky yarn.

Only one question. on your second row, do you double crochet at the top of that original chat 4 that you started with? I've not seen a video yet that goes that far with the second row. Thank you!
I would recommend joining with a slip stitch to the first foundation stitch when you have the proper length. Then use the tail from the slip knot to secure the bottom of the stitches. Works like a charm :)
This is the only fdc tutorial that's ever made sense to me -- picked it up immediately. Tysm!
