Competed today in my second Novice strongman competition in the Masters class (over 40). Had a great time, met some awesome people and came away with the win. Happy days
Well done mate, funday our and reward for your consistent work. And if uou loose your job, this vid is the perfect applocation to the job in the brewery, farm, tyre shop or forest 👌👍
@@RobSimpson-BarbellsandBurpees well I reckon in those days people didn't get bad backs, weakness, and disease like they do now. I'm sure that's a bit of rose tinted glasses, but if we take the best of the old school, the new school will be better 👍 awful typos from me sorry, my fingers are too big for the phone screen 😅
Thanks Richard. The stones are not as bad as you think, although the skin missing from my arms, my sore biceps and sore hamstrings would say other wise today. LOL
Thanks Col. I knew I had won the first 2 but didn't see the times for the farmers or the reps for the stones so wasn't sure if I had won. When I saw the score sheet I was surprised but very happy.
Farmers was like a drunk one legged man in a hopping contest. I knew I had to go fast but then rushed them and was all over the place, luckily I could rely on strength and just bully them along. LOL
Awesome Rob man!! It was so good I had to watch it twice👍. 23 reps on the deadlift, and you were pretty well sprinting back with that keg in you lap. And you just kept going and going with the stones over the bar. Looked like nothing to grip on the stones, so I’m sure it was super hard. Looks like you had a great time brother! Great to see👌💪!
Stones are hard because other than squeeze your arms together you cant really grip them. Other guys use tacky which is like a sticky tree sap to hep their arms and hands stick to the stones. I didn't both with the tacky but there was plenty left on the stones from other people so they were a little bit sticky anyway. It is a long day and you do feel pretty beat up after but its definitely worth it. Took the mini monster with me and the look on his face when I gave him the trophy was awesome.
@@RobSimpson-BarbellsandBurpees ahh that so true Rob man. Making memories with our children is what it’s all about. Glad you had an awesome moment with Jake!

That’s why I do it. It is like doing a proper old school manual job

That is awesome Rob. Congratulations. You won by a big margin! They all looked tough but the stones would scare me the most.
