I live next door to a narcisst, and she truly does things to deliberately annoy me, but other neighbours play her games, I don't get it, neighbours know what she's like, but they shun me because I react to her, I'm VERY OUTSPOKEN, I've tried to ignore her behaviour, but I find it hard, she has even threatened to hurt me, I've tried and tried to ignore her but I'm too outspoken

My husband co-signed a lease with our adopted son(24) who just doesn’t make enough to live on but won’t take a second job. We told him his dad was going off the lease only to discover our son has to go to the leasing office and sign for the change. No way he’ll go. Need a strategy!

I have been stuck at home for 6 years with one. He makes sure I'm stranded by sabotaging my many vehicles. And one time i had a ride lined up from an elderly lady and he planted 3 inch screws in the driveway. That cost me almost 600.00 for her tow from a flatbed and new tires. He was not prosecuted because no one seen him plant them and I had no proof it was him. He was questioned by an officer and of course he lied. The officer believed him and made no arrest.

I feel bad for all of us caught up in a narcissistic web. It's easy to say you can just leave. But if you don't have the finances and don't just want to throw everything you worked for to the wind. It is not an easy task to work your way out
It is like he has two different personalities. One is kind and like he was when we first began dating then something triggers him and he goes ballistic on me for any little thing.
The only time they are ever kind is when there is something in it for them. The narcissist in my life thinks of relationships in terms of what they get from them.

The ones that set my narcissist off were:
"No" and "It's not a good time to talk right now".
They cannot cope with someone not being at their beck and call.
They always have to be right and never try to resolve anything in a conflict.
Omg, everything you stated is what I'm going through. And it's sad that it's my sons father. I left 6yrs ago and it was the best thing ever now I'm starting to allow him to be a dad to his son. But its impossible!

Catherine l Baran it’s impossible at home I want to sell the house, she says ok, and then last minute changes her mind. What’s worse for me I truly believe she’s cheating on me at the same time, so I don’t give her attention she finds it somewhere else, I just feel so sorry for the kids, and if I take through lawyers, I’m pretty sure I’ll lose them to this vampire. It’s like I’m destined to live a miserable life

What set mines off is the words "leave me alone" , "no", ignoring him, sending calls to the VM, you're a coward, you aren't a good dad. If you give him pure facts, he is still set off.

When I got all the info on narcs, I started to listen closely and with "different ears & eyes" - they tell on themselves if we listen - YES

I agree with both here. I'm new to have broken contact 7+months, and it works great! By now they're gritting their teeth and just about fed up with me completely frustrated and quite fearful of me. And most recent physical distance because of pandemic is perfect for even greater leverage for me. They don't wear a mask for covering, but I do always, a professional one at that. For years they made fun of me, teased me and laughed at me with their friends for wearing one for protection even long before the pandemic. I hope that they don't contract the virus and bring it home and turn our household upsidedown more than it is already after the hard work that put in to avoid this and protect everyone here, including the neighborhood. Sometimes you have to interact with the narc. I had to deal with my ex since we have a child. But no more. Hopefully I'll never see him again.

I firmly believe that more people called out narcissist immediately and told them exactly these things they don't want to hear there would be less of narcissist in the world. When you don't let the narcissist have any influence or power over you, you can go ahead and say these things with impunity. More people should put the narcissist in their place.

At the last family gatherings I noticed my sister interrupted me and finished the conversation.At one point I told her to be quiet and let me finish what I was saying

I believe that one.must never confront them especially if and when you find yourself alone with them. Be very agreeable. If you must be in their company. You might want to meet them in a very crowded place. Try not to be alone with them at any cost. Try to be very detached and unemotional. Try never to meet them. Rebecca this is so helpful. The rest is up to him. Meanwhile, I am still coming back from the trauma of experiencing his f'd up state of consciousness. My father is a toxic narcissist. One of his fun things to do was to discuss my medical history with strangers. That stopped when I started discussing his long struggle with erectile dysfunction with strangers.

The demon I casted out used to threaten suicide...at first I believed it and then eventually I would answer "then do it!! Dont tell me, just do it!! BUT DON'T DO IT IN THE CAR OR IN THE APT!!! THERE'S no money to pay for the blood to be cleaned and I can sell the jeep for some money if I need it!!"

I'm with you Toni, my husband threatened me many times, saying that he can always get or find someone in a snap of a finger if I dont want to get intimate with him, I used to panic now I just say to him go ahead don't let the door hit you on the back and good luck treating a venereal disease.

I said all of the big no, no's and that he will always be common and ordinary. What he did in return was financially destroy me, abuse my dog, and he threatened to skin my children alive. I have been running for over a year in 5 different places. Please listen to what she is saying, she is 100% right. Hard lessons learned.
I believe in advocating for myself and standing up for what’s right. I said all those words to my ex fiancé Narc and exposed him for the fraud he is to his face! Then I filed a lawsuit against him for mental distress and won a 10K judgement. He’s was quite theatrical in court and I was calm as a cucumber. The Judge saw right through him and I was vindicated. I was fearless and that was my way of recovery from his mental abuse. Stay Blessed everyone!

Wow! That's great! I didn't know my ex was a narc until a year after he divorced me. I've recovered emotionally but there are some practical matters that need attention and exposing him would be in my favor if it's in front of the same judge. Of course the judge thought the narc was great and I was a free loader in the almost 3 decades marriage. Would your attorney happen to be in ohio?

I’d say these things don’t “destroy” them, they enrage them like you said at the end, and they love that. Your last suggestion, no contact is definite and final destruction of at least their abuse on you. I don’t think it will destroy them, I think it forces them to find another supply.

He has no empathy, bossy, everything goes his way, there is always yelling and fighting, he is better then anyone, he always points out my faults and what I do wrong. If the kids are being a certain way, that's my fault. I want out. I'am miserable😔

I just got out of a relationship with an alcoholic narcissist. I said all of those things to him & then some. I even had texts & picture proof of the issue at hand when I called him a liar & told him, "I don't believe you..." He would get extremely mad & then try to make the argument about my tone of voice & the way I address things with him. So glad to be done with that loser. Honestly, the relationship lasted a lot longer than it should have. #NeverAgain
Same! My husband is an alcoholic and we are currently in the silent treatment cycle. I’ve been on the couch for weeks. We’ve been married 8 years and the last 2 years have been awful. I have also said all these things to him because he infuriates me. The best thing I finally started doing in the last few months is not fight back, not argue back, not engage. It works wonders. He comes a beggin every time!

Thank you, excellent information. My ex is a sociopath with narcissistic tendencies. I had to deal with her in my sons recent wedding she wanted me to split costs with her, so I did and got along during the wedding, the next week she wanted to continue communicating and wanted more money. She did not want me, she just joy spoke about herself. I told her I felt used by her and every conversation was about money. She has never remorse for breaking up our marriage of 28 years or for her infidelities. I believe she is dead on the inside. She is also left handed, and an only child, I don’t believe all left handed single children are evil, but I she is. I took her there court for probable cause and the judge scolded her hard for her behavior. I represented myself, she lied to her attorney and he was not prepared, having the judge scold her was great taking her attorney apart was an added bonus, all for a $20 filing fee. Sometimes the legal system is great
When they make a false accusation about your character: say "stop taking about yourself like that" .. or "you're just projecting yourself onto me"... all in a grey rock tone of voice.. and without any eye contact while doing something else

I grew up in a house where my father was the narcissist, my sister followed in his footsteps …. She has my mom wrapped around her finger. My brother and I have for the most part cut her out of our life although when we are at family get together. She feels this is the time to

Problem is my mom recently had a stroke and I have been asked to help care for my mom . They have multiple people, court connections which hands them a LOT of power, money, and my blindsided reaction and self sabotaging helped them a lot too... I found that there is two things that my narcissistic sister has no response to. when she says that she doesn't care .my reply is ."well your life is never going to be worth a shit if you don't care" the other one is she offers me an ultimatum and I turn around and reply . I'll think about it . that empowers me so much. it's unbelievable. She has absolutely no response and the blank look on her face is just priceless.

I saw vague signs of his personality shift before we were married but as I was growing into "not sweating the small stuff" I completely missed the mark. The emotional abuse I endured during our 5 year marriage sent me into a fit of rage after the monster let itself completely out of the bag once our daughter was born. I eventually broke and fired back everything at him that he threw at me during our marriage and boy oh boy, what came next has been evil like no other one could never be fully prepared for.

Now I don't feel bad because I too decided no contact with my narc mother and sister. Now that I know what triangulation and gas-lighting is and my cry has always been my fault. My greatest revenge was not having room for my Mom so she just moved herself in with her Golden child. It is daily chaos in my sister house and she wants her out and now sending the flying monkeys over my house to convince me to help her. I don't know who is worst, but I begin to wake up for good. I don't have a phone to talk, only wifi text, therefore, I don't have to hear nothing. It kills them but at least I'm at peace. Mine says those exact things to me every time I try to talk or express how I feel. He dismisses me and calls me a loser, worthless, garbage etc. He is basically taking the advice given in this video. And I know for a fact he's a narcissist. He doesn't like dealing with other people's feelings or emotions. He shuts me down everytime I talk about how I feel. He has absolutely no empathy and refuses to take responsibility for anything he does that hurts me. I don't want to stoop to his level and call him hurtful things, but I'm already starting to project his bad and disgusting behavior and it makes me sick because I know I'm better than that.

This video reminds me so much of how careful we have to be with our dad. And why me and my sisters need therapy and I cant believe how my mom has handled it for 44 years. Although he does have very loveable sides. But alot of what he expects from others (such as waiting for him) nobody can do to him. If he has to wait 2 minutes youve wasted his day.
And nothing I say or my ideas are valid unless he hears it somewhere from someone he thinks actually knows what they're talking about. He tells people no and thinks that makes him strong but boy nobody else better say it. We have to go about it very carefully or he will guilt trip the heck out of you.
