This is exciting... You will be part of Siargao's changes from the chaotic effect of Odette to bring back its glory. Being part of it will be a wonderful experience. Good move guys.
Think your theory on the trauma is spot on, chosing to stay gives u visibility of the changes while life csn be hard but i think it greatly helps the healing process seeing the progress.
The children are doing awesome. There are no worries in their faces but instead they are so eager to do their chores . WOW! It is just like watching paradise. They are the future. They can go anywhere and can survive using what mother nature provides around them. It's survival that no machine can replace.
Nice to see story doing REAL Playing. Playing with the puppies, climbing trees, playing ball, climbing the hill, doing balancing on a coconut tree trank.. you dont get to see that often as most kids are just contented playing at their gadgets. They dont play outside anymore
Thanks for checking the forest school and hopefully your viewers will assist the rebuilding of that special school. It was just amazing that Story mature a bit and I think learned a lot from her experience, that no matter what people will pull through there struggle. A special lesson that people in the western world never experience. By the way Poppy is getting very physically strong and energetic, amazing how fast and energetic she is. Great job in getting her healthy. Is Sasha going to train her eventually before she gets a bit very independent?
I temember when we’re still young we love playing in the rain, running jumping its cool🥰it is a good child experienced. Im happy that this children are still happy despite of what happened, you have all good parenting way. No word to described how thankful we are for you both staying in siargao & be part of rebuilding that place. We will continue to support all of you that was affected by the storm. Stay safe from ireland.
We used to have this type of school "forest school" in gradeschool in the Philippines. Its a different version. We cultivate soil and plant vegetables. Also girls scout, where we go to mountain and hike. I think they don't this anymore as part of the curriculum. It's a shame kids nowadays are glued all day with their gadgets.
Yep. By the time I was a senior high in 1984, I was a Rizal Scout and well-versed in mountain survival. Something my kids and grandkids can only dream of now.
cut and trim the branches of those toppled trees, leaving only the main trunk then tie upright. they will grow again so long as the roots are properly covered. our thoughts and prayers for fast recovery of Siargao!
Love seeing all the smiles and children playing. Filipino resiliency and English resiliency in full display. We continue to watch your great journey through life.
The kids on this video. This was how I was when I was a child, always outside climbing trees, helping clean the yard, especially after a typhoon. My adult self would be horrified at the sight of my young self just nonchalantly using a bolo and a shovel to clean the debris. I could have been just 9 years old when I would pick-up a bolo and just use it where I think I need it. It's scary thinking about it now, haha. Sometimes I wonder if my parents knew what I've been doing. But I think they know and it's funny thinking about it, coz I never got scolded for those.

i feel so sad about the fate of this beautiful island. im very optimistic it will recover very soon. Thank you Eight Miles from Home for loving this island and helping the folks there. You're very extraordinary.
The coconut trees are getting better too.. your family came into Philippines as a tourist but transformed into a Winner Warrior! There's no beautiful jewelry that didn't go through Fire, Burning and Hammering.
Hello Jay, Sacha, Story and Poppy, it's nice to know that your fine and safe.....and also thanks for sticking it our there in Siargao....your experience will be a lesson learned how Filipino cope up every storm or tragedies we had and slowly rebuilding our lives out of it....that's what we call resilient ....adapting and accepting it....just hang on there, take care and be safe always....were with you every step of the way...praying for everyone's safety...God bless 8 Miles from Home....
nice to see the kids having fun,
This is exciting...
I hope it recovers from thw damage. 🙏
Soon Siargao wil rise again.. Happy to see kids enjoying.. GOD bless you all! Watching from Davao.
I'm so proud of you, you live like Filipino and dispite of challenges you choose to stay. God bless you guys.
Watching from Rio Grande,Brasil🙂
I am so happy to watch these kids having fun.
Rise and Shine Siargao. Rise and Shine my Philippines.
Keepsafe guys
Nice to see the kids enjoy playing around also poppy having fun.
What a lovely loving family...
Jaye you have such a sound mind rationalizing the ins & out of the storm. Amazing

Thank you 8 miles from home for updating us the situation in the island stay safe , GODBLESS Jay , Shasha and Story ofcourse poppy.
I love all your videos bro 👌you explain everything in details. You're blessed.
