The songs that resonate the most are the one that are personal to the singer/songwriter and also manage to be relatable to anyone who listens to it. This is one of those songs. Because of that it is relatable to those born 50 years before Neil and it will be relatable to those born 50 years from now.
One of my favorite singer songwriters spanning many decades. I had so many of his records. He had tons of hit songs. "I Am, I Said" is almost an autobiography of his life & fame. He wrote the song "I'm A Believer" which became a big hit for the Monkees in 1966. That song was later used in the movie Shrek & sung by Smash Mouth. I was privileged to see him in concert twice. He was a great showman & his live performances were memorable.

You're very expressive and it's nice to watch. I had some trouble hearing you speak, though, with my volumes at highest level (just FYI). From the way you react to the song I get the feeling your comments would be interesting to hear. Anyway, some more Neil Diamond: America (my personal fave), Sweet Caroline (most other peoples' fave), Love on the Rocks, Hello Again, Heartlight (haven't heard any reactor do this), You Don't Bring My Flowers (a duet with Barbra Streisand - - fun fact: they went to high school together and were both in the school chorus).
