They are sort of like giant cockerels/roosters when it comes down to the scrapping, they tend to make a lot of noise and jump at each other now and then. However, they are usually peaceful enough.

It makes sense in evolutionary terms of passing on genes. The brothers share similar genes to their "top turkey" brother and if he's successful in breeding, they too pass on some of their genes.
But most people have sex to feel the pleasure, not to pass on their genes. so in this case, it's not a win win situation as the brothers didn't get to enjoy.
@@India_first-k6n Most humans in modern hook up culture and turkeys have the same reasons for s3x and that is purely biological impulse. Turkeys are not thinking about genetics or even reproduction. They are only following their instincts.
@@India_first-k6n Sex drive is inherent in all species. But different species have given rise to a variety of reproductive strategies. In terms of turkeys, on an *individual* level, the wingman brothers aren't "successful" since they don't mate, but on the long-term evolutionary level, they are successful in fending off the rival clan of toms and insuring that their alpha male passed on his (and many of their) genes. The human males who only mate for pleasure and never pass on their genes are "losers" in terms of evolution. Their DNA will die with them. In terms of "survival of the fittest", a handsome, strong and smart person who is incapable of passing on his genes (due to infertility, mutations or premature death) is "less fit" than a less attractive and weaker opponent who sires viable progeny. To be sure, though, if the alpha male tom was to perish, the brothers would fight to assume his place.
I grew up in Southern California but went to Illinois for college. I was out on a walk one afternoon and saw turkeys flying from the trees. At first I didn't know what the heck they were. And then I heard their gobble gobbles. So funny! Yet so majestic!
As a kid we always had turkeys. The Tom's will kick your ass if you get in the way of his females. Especially if you are closer to their size. So no kids around the turkeys unless you want to fight 😂😂 I loved how the 3 outsiders came strolling up in this video. I don't know why I found it hilarious 😂😂
We don't have wild Turkeys here in Germany and the domesticated ones look very different so I've never seen male Turkeys like that and they are surprisingly beautiful. Like very impressive actually.
Beautiful birds. I watched the other doccie with the ostriches also playing the mating game. It was hilarious and fascinating, and I must say, who would have thought that strange looking large birds could run and dance so gracefully, and might I add....umm...even sexy in the bird world?! 🤣🤣
I suppose it makes sense. The dominant brother caries a lot of the same genes as the less dominant brothers. So if the less dominant brothers support the dominant brother, they all get to pass on at least most of their genes. Much more than if the rival toms won the ladies instead.
