Blast dash and guard point on quick reload should just be a staple for gl in mh games. Makes the weapon feel so much better and would make it feel better in comparison to other stronger weapons
After only playing SA and nothing else because other weapons really does not interest me, GL make a difference to me now, and really eager to learn about it.
The main combo he is using is R+A Y A A R+A X A R+A reloads 4 shells, after that he uses Y for brave stance and quickly presses A 2 times to shot 2 shells, leaving him with 2. Now, he reloads (R+A) and that brings back the full 6 shells (2 that he had left and 4 from the reload), X makes the slam, and then quickly press A to shoot all the shells at once. It is a neat combo!

You just need to practice the timings and see which hits can you actually counter (most of them tbh) because there are hits (like Zinogre's jump where he goes like 360 idk how the attack is called) that you cannot counter because they have too much hitstun or thinks like Gravios' beam and other beams which are uncounterable without a specific skill called Guard Up. Luckily you have the brave stance so you'll be using that one pretty much everytime that you can't counter a hit or you messed up the timings
Frankly, watching these videos from Mai will improve your play style. The 0 4 2 6 shelling method was very efficient and I'll be using something similar myself. I noticed it was easier to get into brave with the valor shelling versus the valor attacking. He was also a champ with the guard points and that's an area I need to improve in. I also have noticed that if the monster is quick, Mai will use absolute evasion versus dragon breath. I've run into a similar problem where the mob will essentially run away and drop me out of valor, which is a serious pain. Those are my thoughts on it. I'm assuming if you've kept at it you've picked up some of these skills. If not, then perhaps someone else will benefit. Cheers!
Dragons Breath gives you a 1.2x multiplier on all shelling attacks for it's entire duration if Trump Card is active when using the art. And it stacks with artillery and felyne bombardier.

@@gabrielesquaratti9950 valor removes any bonus a specific shell type gets and applies it to most. The more ammo you load for a fb or chain the higher the dmg is for each or overall. Wyvern fire mainly gets nerfed on long and buffed on normal if you have at least 4 shells or more loaded.
That was insane! Quick question: At @4:29, are you wearing two armor sets? I'm not familiar with the blue/yellow armor icons. I've seen them in your other videos, but I never thought about what that meant.
