    So i was supposed to be taking my sister away for a few day at the end of January, after her chemo treatment but that is now not happening. Such a lovey idea!
      Based on watching my BFF’s chemo journey, may I suggest you talk w/her about her anticipated energy level post-treatment (however many days after the actual day) before you decide on what kit to order? Something requiring standing over a stovetop for 15-20mins might be less ideal than one where more work can be done sitting down.
      Wishing your sister an smooth & quick recovery. ❤️

    • @DavidGlendinning
      @DavidGlendinning 4 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      [Piggybacking on Laura's comment] Or, depending on how much strength your sister has post-chemo, maybe ordering 2 identical sets of goodies (preferably something neither of you have tried but sounds really good) and having your very own "Pretentious or Not" episode might be another option. Less work but still something Done Together.

    I genuinely wish I knew about these DIY restaurant kits during lockdown for 2 main reasons, firstly it was brilliant that people could support businesses, particularly small ones, so they could survive unprecedented times, but secondly because takeaways are a unique and special experience that we were deprived of but having all the ingredients coming to your door making it remarkably simple to create an amazing meal was a unique experience!

    In regards to the plastic containers - can you clean them in the dishwasher and make sure they have matching lids, and take them to your local Sallies or food shelter or similar - very useful for providing food for people to take with them without the shelter having to buy excess ones.

      Just 100 companies in the world create 71% of global emissions. I don't think, in the grand scheme of things, the impact of the plastic waste for a once-in-a-while treat like this is very harmful. Meanwhile, the support might mean everything to a restaurant and/or small business during a pandemic.

    It may be more plastic, but it essentially eliminates food waste
    You can also use the containers to bring the food to work (if you are able to work) or to other people!
    There was a kitchen here in Ottawa (Canada) where they cooked food for up to 500 people a day, for free mind you, during the first lockdown and dropped it off for anyone who needed it.
