  • A cancer survivor shares her keys to living a long and healthy life after receiving a life-changing diagnosis.
    Only weeks after losing her father to cancer, Caryn Dugan received more devastating news. She had a form of the same disease that just left an enormous void in her life. It was the final twist in a horrific year, but it would ultimately serve as a pivotal moment for her future. Caryn went from being a self-described “human garbage disposal” to a pillar of health. As she battled cancer, she wanted to understand why this was happening to her family.
    Years later, Caryn remains cancer-free and has opened the nation’s first plant-based culinary education center to pass on what she has learned to others. She is teaching thousands what it takes to live long, healthy, and cancer-free lives at the Center for Plant Based Living in St. Louis.

    I always get "I just can't give up my cheese." from my friends. I don't even think about cheese anymore.

      For me it's not just the cheese alone. It's pizza. Pepperoni pizza is my favorite food and that's the one food I'm missing so much. The vegan pizza just isn't cutting it for me. 😫

    • @Frenchblue8

      @@stephanies3862 really? Have you tried Amy's? She makes two kinds of vegan pizza one with everything on it including some sort of vegan sausage or pepperoni and then a margarita. Just my advice would be to stay away from the gluten-free crust for sure cuz that's nothing but a huge disappointment. Sometimes with Amy's I add some extra deal life shredded cheese in the last like minute of cooking, too if you're a real cheesehead for your pizza

    Love it. In 2008 the doctor wanted to take my gallbladder. I educated myself about the benefits of eating plant foods and through everything that was not a plant out of my fridge. So…..Here I am in 2022 and still have my gallbladder! I would love to be like Caryn and start helping people heal there God giving bodies. Even though I am not 100% plant now I do eat mostly plants I am obsessed with talking to people about the benefits of eating plants to heal their bodies. Need to figure out how to start a small group here maybe in. Richmond Va. So many sick people everywhere I look. Sadly to say even our children are sicker now.

    Hi; Chunk and Caryn . I just followed couple of your show and really interested.back in 2009, I had stack 1 lung cancer and stack 3 colon cancer and I survived.in 2017 , I got AVM and go under procedures and got my left body paralyzed about 8 to 10 h. After that from my lower back and my feet got a lot of problems. In October 2020 , I got other lung cancer . It the same place in 2009 but different cancer and when I got lap work show me that in next 5 years 98% cancer will come back to me again.so my uncology and lung doctor ask me if I can remove the lower lobe of my left lung and I agree.right now I am living with feelings that when will my cancer coming back plus from my lower back to my feet all painful, numbness, to my diet , I am really eat healthy food and drink most of the water only. My point is , how can I prevent cancer not coming back.I am 48 years old in 100 Lb and 5”2.

    So confusing when you watch keto channels and people healing cancer with keto. How do you explain that? So confusing

    • @SOZO_xo
      @SOZO_xo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is indeed confusing….but I think the common denominator is low carbs and cutting out processed foods as much as possible. Both Whole Food Plant Based eating and Keto eating eliminate both of these.

    • @ashleycbla
      @ashleycbla 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Plant based diet is much easier to follow to me because you don’t have to cut carbs at all.

    • @SOZO_xo
      @SOZO_xo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ashleycbla That’s weird because on WFPB eating, as a diabetic, I had to be as aware of carbs as I am on Keto. Many fruits and some starchy vegetables like potatoes would spike by blood sugar too high. I’ve done both and I think they both are equally the same for me personally……both are easy. But I know that with each person it can be different. I know others who feel Keto is more filling so they do better on Keto. I actually get full on both even while doing Intermittent Fasting. Thank goodness for TH-cam videos. 🤗

    • @ashleycbla
      @ashleycbla 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@SOZO_xo I don’t have to worry about my carbs so I prefer plant based, when I looked into trying keto I had to cut carbs out so that was a no go for me. I can live without meats, but need my carbs.
