    Hi Wray,
    I like what you are doing. I am about the same age, started out in UK as apprentice plating welding at 16.
    Now rebuilding a Land Rover Series and found your site looking for aluminum bodywork.
    You are a great teacher.

    If that was me standing there instead of that gentleman I would say I’m not signing any autographs today. A star is born. There’s no question about it you have the ability to teach people good stuff. When I learned to weld fortunately I knew a little bit and my instructor helped me improve. Not all people have the ability to teach as you know.

    Wray - Just shows how good a teacher you are to impart that level of skill to a willing student in as few as 10 days.
    I so want to find a way to make it work for me to get the funds and time to come from Aus and do the same.
    I just need to get my act together - but first i need to stash a way the funds to do it.

    Wray, I teach too- not metal shaping - but the principles are the same. If you know what you are doing, and students believe and do what you tell them then the results speak for themselves: everyone is a winner! I would love to take your class, but I'm in Japan. Hopefully one day I can find the time and resources to study with you. Thanks for the great content!

    I had the MGA series 1.5 they only made a few hundred of them! They have the TwinCam Body better suspension & Brakes but have the new SOC Engine. When they made the series 2 they still had (i cant remember exactly) 350 or so TC Bodies so they made the 1.5! They are the rarest MGA model!!

    So, 130 hours got some training, technique, FSP, and fabrication of one fender for a new student. Not taking anything away from the student. All respect for the accomplishment. How many hours for the Master to create the fender?
    Thanks for the video.

    • @proshaper
      @proshaper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is never about the hours it is about the quality. This isn't about making stuff to sell. If you are concerned about hours you are concerned about making money. Ian is retired his goal is learning how to make his car collection whole. To do that he can send his cars out to a shop and spend $100000.00 to $200000.00 per car to be restored or to learn the skills to do the job himself as a retirement project.

    Congrats to you both on a nice piece of metal shaping, a question Wray on Tig machines as you have probably used both over the years I have an older 415V (AU) transformer Tig with basically just amperage and ac/dc controls are the newer inverter style Tigs ( like your chinese one) easier to use for a beginner? I am sure the older machine is quite capable of good welds in experienced hands but maybe not so for me as I seem to get very hit and miss results without seeing the issue ( this is on Ali, havent tried ms ) Great Channel by the way Regards Greg
