The reason I'm looking at a dedicated tube vise is the tube fly adapter like you use in this video has been rumored to eventually harm the normal vise jaws. I'm leaning towards the HMH Spinner model with the palm knob and bobbin holder. Do you have an opinion? Thanks from Bill
Hi Bill, Up until I started using the HMH tube adapter I used an old blind eye hook shank which just got me by and to be honest I've never had a problem with the jaws of the vise using the adapter...I've not tried the spinner model or seen one up close though if I get a chance to mess with one I'll let you know what I think...I'll let my son know that you enjoy him playing... I think you may have answered this in a previous video...but how do you trim/narrow your superglue brush without matting the fibres or the fibres drying out while cutting?. Also how do you keep your superglue from drying out?.Constant use?.
Hi Slick Roode, I lay the brush on the edge of an old table and cut it at an angle to get the taper with a Stanley knife, I've also used an old pair of scissors as well so you just have to clean them straight away...I have to be honest I sit the bottle of superglue on my table with a piece of bluetac which stops it from falling over and as I'm using it all the time it sits mostly open and it will last for more than a month or even two with no problem, though if you want it to last that bit longer when not using it they recommend you store it in the fridge...
