You can actually witness the stuff Charlie is talking about yourself, you either experience the bar cut scene or the one with in the living room at your flat with Fiona and her SO or the one at the bar depending on which choices you make.

Please don't quit. There are couple of hard puzzles in the beginning but will smooth out a bit and worth it!

Mercury Theatre is likewise a reference to Orson Welles’ Rep Theatre of the same name, they most infamously did a live radio adaptation of H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds. They made it like a news broadcast and didn’t cut until they were through, and with some people missing the introduction of the show being a presentation of a fictional work, it led to some panic by a number of listeners that it was a real alien invasion.
The amount of panic it actually caused is debatable, and likely overblown, but it did cause at least some people who caught it in the middle of the broadcast to do so which caused some negative press. All of this shocked Welles because he also wrapped up the broadcast with telling people it was not real.

Yes, I picked up on the 'Freddie/Mercury' bit, but didn't mention - mostly because I can't imagine a more non-Freddie guy. Minus the white tank top, I suppose.

39:00 is the puzzle I was talking about that you said sounded foreboding. If you end up needing to look it up, I don't think anyone will frown at you for it lol. It's a bit obscure for an answer and I don't have any idea how you would normally put together these solutions.

You kind of got used to doing this with adventure games, if you saw something that seemed out of place with a scene you likely could pick it up. And then it was just trial and error clicking on everything, items from you inventory on the world, items on top of items in your inventory, or thinking about it for a moment, basically where you say to yourself, I need something to do a thing to get something so I can do a different thing with that something, but first I need to take a close look at something to do something to it or take two or more somethings and put them together to do something else to get the something I need to do the thing.
It’s convoluted, but that’s point in click in a nutshell. They follow three main rules, the major one of those two is, if you can pick it up, do so, the second is click on everything. The third, the right way is the right way to go, but go left first where the game doesn’t want you to go.

@@joeb918 oh it isn't that I'm unfamiliar with that, but most PnC games I've played at least have a solution to a puzzle that makes some kind of sense even if obscure. But yes, doing the blind item combine step is something I've done so many times when I've just given up lol.

The movie synopsis’ and the stars in them are quite wrong, very wrong, they probably did it as a joke, but maybe there was a legal reason why they couldn’t describe them. I hope it’s the latter, those two are classics!
