I watched the video on TV and pointed it out to my biker son.His comment was,"yes there are a lot of idiots on the road" Sadly my son lost his life on his motorbike 14th Novemeber 2011. He was on his way to work 9 a m in the morning,he was speeding and a heavy goods vehichle with a drunken driver came out of an illegal farm exit which had no warning road sign up.
Sorry for your loss. Some things simply can't be prevented, but you can do everything in your power to minimize risks which is what this ad was about. Most guys (like me) sound like they're blowing it off, because to the sensible rider, it's no-brainer stuff. I suppose I'd give my folks the same response if they tried to show me this - It doesn't mean I have a complete disregard for safety. Stay strong! I know how tough it is to lose someone - not a son, but there's people I wont ever see again.
He should have driven either very slightly quicker or ever so slightly slower, then he would have avoided it. But then he might have either caught his wife having sex with his brother or seen him leave and been suspicious.
This is very clever and gets the message across, but it also is not done in a scary way, it is done in a funny way espicially the person holding up the sign saying Birmingham by the way mind the Tractor, I found out Steven Redgrave did this because one of his freinds died in a motorbicycle crash so he did this to show people with Motorbicycles to be careful.
The only thing I got from this is don't bother owning a bike in the UK. The roads blow, and nobody uses turn indicators or watches for oncoming traffic before merging.
nice rover 75 at the beginning

I know this was 9 years ago but I’m so sorry for your loss
