A while back, I remember hearing an odd techno remix of the opening credits song from the animated Disney film "Robin Hood" Turns out THAT was The Hampsterdance Song!
Hamster Song actually used "Whistle Stop" from Disney's Robin Hood. It was the scatting part that got used and sped up. As for this list, I liked "Rockstar" - it was more overplayed - and liked "Look What You Made Me Do". As for "You're Beautiful", James Blunt admitted it wasn't a love song. It was about him getting high and then seeing his ex-girlfriend with a new dude at the subway, and he had been trying to win her back before he saw that scene. He admitted stalking the girl!
I had to hear let it go for two weeks In 2015 when Disney on ice came to town In cleveland. I worked it. To this day I hate that song and that movie. If you like it good for you but keep that song and movie away from me.

Not a Bieber fan by any means, but it's plain stupidity that adults expect adult content from pre-teens. It was a hit with the audience it was supposed to be a hit with.
I don't get it, how can you make a song most hated if it became successful and even topped some of the charts in different countries?! Aren't the most hated should be the ones that flopped?!
For two reasons. 1. To make something successful, you have to do something different than everything else on the radio. Some people will like it, others won't. 2. There are always people that think they're cool and free-thinkers for hating on what's popular.
Watch mojo apparently forgets that popular culture isnt a college consent course, and that the industry knows that sex sells. And if Watchmojo thinks blurred lines is bad, sexist, misogynistic, blah blah, enter whatever woke moral puritan word you want, then you might want to avoid rap music.
While I'm not a Bieber fan,"Baby" is not a bad song. It's just ok. It's not as annoying as any sixnine song or "Watch Me (by Silento)", which didn't get a mention in this video.
@@antoinemouthon6501Same here, my friend. I hate both this and Lean On. Whenever I hear any of those two songs, I also feel like punching the radio or speaker where it is coming from.
Party in the USA and blurred lines were parodied by weird al which makes them better or worse. I've only heard the Taylor swift song, rockstar, my humps, and cotton eyed Joe song on normal radio. Everyone hates Justin Briner!
A lot of these songs are actually kinda often overlooked. Some can be annoying ("Selfie," for sure) but others are kinda unfairly hated on. They sound similar, but it's not entirely accurate. Just because they're similar, doesn't make it the same thing.
@@chrisrj9871 Literally the same thing - there is a part of the whistle stop song that was "spoken" - this is the part of the song that was sped up and sampled for the hampsterdance song. It's not up for debate.
I enjoy Timber because of the harmonica. Reminds me of Bluegrass!
Funnily enough, the Just Dance version of it actually has the two "guide dancers" in sorta rodeo getups to further sell the idea, so you're definitely not the only one who caught that! "Swing your partner round-and-round", indeed! :D
I’m gonna be honest some of the just got hate because it was overplayed to death where you hated it just for that lol you’re beautiful should not be here!!! So many crush revels with that song lol
The one thing about Friday is that it was never meant for main stream. So it’s a bad song, but it was a song and video made by a kid on her birthday, for her friends. It wasn’t ever set up to be as hated or popular as it was.
Omg what a sad SAD person would hate Aserejé? I still love it with all my heart
I actually liked most of these songs back in the day 🤦♀️🤣
It would be easier to create a countdown of recent songs that “aren’t” dreadful.
They exists. They’re just not promoted by corporations
Aserejé is one of my old-time favorite back in 2000s
I'm glad Baby got #1 on the list because I couldn't stand when all the elementary school girls sang that out loud on the bus after school and I was hella glad when the last couple days of my senior year came when I didn't have to be in school long and could skip the afternoon classes because I either already took all the exams or were exempt from them.
14:23 but we wouldn’t have “you’re pitiful” without it
I love the hamster dance song and crazy frog... cotton eye Joe? That sounds like a personal vendetta.
Have to say there’s a good few on this list that I think are brilliant. Just shows no two people have the same musical taste….thank God!
Those that dislike Crazy Frog or the Hamsterdance Song just aren't human and should not be trusted.
Same with people who like Friday🤮
Honestly if I’ll be honest I did not know that crazy frog even existed until recently, same with hamster dance, I also did not know that song existed either, to be honest, they aren’t actually all that bad if I’ll be honest. So I can accept them, but I may forget them just a bit.
It's prime example of song you should hate but you dont
Preach
They're not human. They are amphibians and furry mammals that consider the songs their anthems...
Honorable mention: Thick Of It
I grew up listening to Nickelback and I ended up genuinely liking their music so
Me too
This list feels more personal than most
"Crank That (Soulja Boy)" is still one of my favorite songs.
Me too
Have you never heard good music before?
@@jag92949 Music is too subjective your opinion cannot prove anything.
@@Kevinn679 Repeating obnoxious lyrics on a loop is annoying. Dogs think feces tastes delicious, so I guess it’s all subjective. Maybe you should play “Stairway to Heaven” & “Bohemian Rhapsody” to get a taste of well-produced songs.
@@jag92949 One of the most successful song of the 2000’s by his phenomenal choreography and his beat accorded to the lyrics also accorder to the choreography, it’s still a masterclass today and realized by a 16 years old boy. You’ve right to don’t like it but don’t tell me that it is bad just because you don’t like it. And are you gonna say that to everyone who likes this song 😧
Why did we EVER think Willow Smith had ANY talent?!?!? Just bc she's Wills daughter is the ONLY reason this song got airplay
not to be rude, and i mean this sincerely, you look absurd and senseless saying willow smith has no talent- i'm not sure if you've heard her recent music and her voice these days, but she objectively is a good, if not phenomenal vocalist as of late, and to claim otherwise is certainly a choice. she checks a lot of boxes of having a great voice.
also, while "whip my hair" is nothing outstanding, it's not bad. it's just a fun pop song. and since it's legitimately sang by a 9 year old is impressive to say the least.
this video is flat out hateful and filled with ignorance, while i can't say i like every song on this list, might even despise some actually, i can't act like my opinion is objective, people who look at something and go "i don't like it" then act like it's an objective opinion just never will be taken seriously to me, or most people to be honest.
You can attack all the songs you listed but don’t dare touch hamster dance! That was the cutest thing ever and it was truly the first viral video to come out. I think it actually came out even before TH-cam and it was insanely popular.
Only thing worse than Avril's 'Hello Kitty' is the 'Hello Kitty' vid. It makes Friday sound like Mozart.
What?! Everybody loves "hello kitty"? That's even more painful than the song.
I am really questioning why you guys at WatchMojo think some of these songs are bad. Some of them are straight bangers.
they don't think they are bad it's just people out there do
You think they put effort into these videos?
Yea like crazy frog

Come on we all love the ketchup song.... Am i right??
A while back, I remember hearing an odd techno remix of the opening credits song from the animated Disney film "Robin Hood"
Turns out THAT was The Hampsterdance Song!
It took me YEARS to make that connection. I think I was watching it with one of my nephews when the light bulb went off in my head.
DUDE you're not Listening to Cotton Eyed Joe!!! On a pirate boat ride in Cancun, it is a BLAST
Let It Go
Call Me Maybe
Both weren't bad but they were overplayed
Why u dont like "Let It Go"?? That song is from Disney's movie "Frozen" and its mostly for kids. Its not that bad.
@@jonlosito2004 You couldn't escape from it back in 2013/2014
I had to hear let it go for two weeks In 2015 when Disney on ice came to town In cleveland. I worked it. To this day I hate that song and that movie. If you like it good for you but keep that song and movie away from me.
@@grayshigami6797 why you hate it though?? Its not somethng you listen to everyday. Maybe u just dont like Disney at all. 0kay....
@@jonlosito2004 I like Disney, but every girl was singing it all the time
Thanks a lot, WatchMojo. I had successfully wiped the memory of Hamsterdance from my brain. Now it's back, and I'm going to have it running through my head for the rest of the day.
Dishonorable Mentions:
* "Anaconda" - Nicki Minaj
* "Boyfriend" - Justin Bieber
* "WAP" - Cardi B
* "Electric Boogie" - Marcia Griffiths and Bunny Wailer
* "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" - Taylor Swift
They are not hated they are overplayed
I'm happy to say that I haven't heard (of) most of these songs. Ngl, though, I actually like The Ketchup Song!
Crank Dat was and still is 🔥
I will forever rock this song
💯
Jake Paul is the reason why the industry refuses to promote artists like dagames, the living tombstone or cg5.
Crank that was the birth of ringtone rap 😩
This (with one exception) should be called "most hated songs of the last 20 years". Is there another vid for songs from before the internet was invented?
It's annoying because it gets played over and over and over again
The best thing about this?
Half of these songs are mostly memed.
Party in the USA, for example 🤭
Most of these I liked. I never got on the Nickelback hating bandwagon. How the hell did Stupid Ho by Nicki Minaj not make this list? That should be #1.
Adding insult to injury for Blurred Lines, Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams got into a lawsuit with Marvin Gaye’s Family for being too identical with Got to Give it Up and lost.
And then Weird Al made the vastly superior Word Crimes which allowed us to have the delightful tune with none of the awful messages, and then it was _truly_ all over for them.
@@submariNervous One thing I ask of you

This list has made the list of most hated lists of most hated songs of all time, of all time.
Wouldn't call this an all time list when only 1 song from the 90s made the list. Where is Don Johnson's "Heartbeat.", Gerardo's "Rico Suave." Vanilla Ice?
Lmao half of those aren't hated at all
Who wrote this list?
Yeah I liked a few of those songs yes sometimes they maybe over played at the time but they’re still decent songs
I think people voted on entries for the list on their website?
FAX
Agree 🤣 most of these songs were amazing when they appeared!
1st question, how old are you?
Blurred Lines was and is awesome. I still have Baby in my playlist. 🤷🏻♂️
song 1: r4pe song.
song 2: ...not "Song 2", for dang sure.
but I guess you do you.
@@chrisrj9871 it’s not a rape song. I know that is what everyone says so that has to be your opinion. I know you want it isn’t “rapey”, maybe if the song said “I dont care if you want it you’re going to get it” then I can see the problem. Read the whole lyrics there isn’t anything about forcing himself on to her.
@@chrisrj9871 it’s not a rape song. Just because it says “I know you want it” doesn’t mean rape. Nowhere in the song do they say “you’re going to get it wether you want it or not”. It’s not that hard to look up the lyrics.
Blurred lines didn't deserve the hate it got. Everything isn't for everyone.
But personally this song relates to me 😇
@@nc5193 Blurred Lines got hate because they said it was a “rape song”. Freaking prudes man it is nothing about that. It says i KnOw YoU wAnT iT 🤤
Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus was really a good song.
Generally, I hate most rap & hip-hop songs, but I really love most r&b songs of the 60s, 70s, & 80s. My fave, 60s soul & 70s funk..
Not a Bieber fan by any means, but it's plain stupidity that adults expect adult content from pre-teens. It was a hit with the audience it was supposed to be a hit with.
For the sake of the cod,Hampsterdance was a masterpiece. Kinda feel bad for Rebecca Black
Soulja had a mainstream run a couple times and ppl still bump crank that???
Cotton Eye Joe was a banging tune. In Italy was super popular and super loved. I still have in my guilty pleasure playlist
Surprisingly some of these songs are critical hits. But sure they are hated... by Watch Mojo.
Actually didn't mind The Hampster Dance and Crazy Frog
What's funny is if I was DJ'ing a wedding I would play every single one of these songs. With the exception of nickelback...
I swear... I can definitely jam to crazy frog on my wedding day... In my dress... Plus "You are beautiful " is just a heartwarming song
I was bewildered, wondering what could possibly be worse than "Friday".
ahh yes. It makes sense now.
Friday is a great song very popular and only slightly disliked
@@rafflesiaandfriends - lol
They clearly went by TH-cam dislikes
@@rafflesiaandfriends Are you kidding me? The song is shit. Even Daneboe knew that, and did a parody video with the Annoying Orange.
I think Friday would’ve deserve the first place on the list cuz Baby still has more likes than dislikes but Friday has more dislikes than likes
I’m proud to report, I’ve only heard 4 of these songs. My Humps, Cotton Eyed Joe, Gummi Bear & You’re Beautiful.
Some of these I’ve never heard of. The ones I have weren’t that bad just overplayed. I personally liked Rockstar.
We are part of the minority, my friend.
At least it ranked #20 so that's merciful. And I'm half/half on Nickelback, myself.
To be fair I enjoy Nickelbacks music a lot but I personally can't stand rockstar so the hate I would say is justified(Not necessarily deserved though)
While I'm not a Bieber fan,"Baby" is not a bad song. It's just ok.
It's not as annoying as any sixnine song or "Watch Me (by Silento)", which didn't get a mention in this video.
You should watch the video of the woman who sings "Baby" to her cat. The cat reacts with violence.
Kinda odd that “Fancy Like” and “Dance Monkey” doesn’t appear on this list smh
Oh gosh, « Dance Monkey » has become so overplayed to death that I wanna smash any speaker that plays it.
@@antoinemouthon6501Same here, my friend. I hate both this and Lean On. Whenever I hear any of those two songs, I also feel like punching the radio or speaker where it is coming from.
This list is full of non hate songs. Mostly overplayed, popular, catchy... pick one.
Party in the USA and blurred lines were parodied by weird al which makes them better or worse. I've only heard the Taylor swift song, rockstar, my humps, and cotton eyed Joe song on normal radio. Everyone hates Justin Briner!
I think you meant "Justin Bieber"? (Still makes me laugh how it felt like a jab towards the VA "Justin Briner")
A lot of these songs are actually kinda often overlooked. Some can be annoying ("Selfie," for sure) but others are kinda unfairly hated on. One example is "Friday," (not exactly a masterpiece, but it was really just the auto tune that was the problem). Really, a lot of these are here as something the majority love to hate on, than something hated individually.
Timber is good tbh. The frog song is great too. You guys should really tell the like/dislike ratio to us in a few weeks for this video…
Totally. Then again I won't see it, because I'm unsubscribing. This channel has become a complete garbage.
Exactly I’ve never met anyone who disliked/hated timber .
Once Willow Smith got to do her own thing and rock out it showed she is actually quite talented.
i think this is more a PERSONAL list rather than a majority poll list. this needs to be done again by a DIFFERENT judge.
