Tom Petersson was recovering from open heart surgery and missed the show.
The opening act was a local band called the Sinclairs. Their guitarist had mentioned during their set that many years ago he won a radio station contest and had the opportunity to sing onstage with Cheap Trick, so it was no surprise that Rick brought him onstage to join them for this one.
