  • I'm removing the muffler on my Jeep Gladiator to find out how it sounds. I should gain about 1 hp in the process :)

    I am surprised a company hasn't made a pre-bent pipe that fits perfectly that someone can cut the muffler out and clamp it in. Then later get it welded by a shop if they want. I've been thinking about finding a similar offset/offset muffler that is straight through with only insulated packing and getting it put in. It will be a little quieter, but still flow better and probably let out higher RPM growl.

    Great video. The air intake defiantly will add some go power and lots of noise. You should check the s&b air intake incase you want to get their new gladiator hood scoops. I just ordered my hood scoops they are suppose to get here by end April can’t wait for that. Can’t wait for your chip video.

      Thanks. Looks like you gotta have a Rubicon hood for that one. I ordered the AFE cai. I'm thinking about their chip or the trail dash which is like 28 hp. We shall see...

      Evolving Male I got the afe scorcher which is suppose to give 18hp. Works great just when you initially connect it make sure to press all the connectors all the way. If not your dashboard lights will go off and you will need a obd2 reader to remove the error codes.

    Subscribed! I’ll have to check to see if you have any other videos on this, would love to hear more. I want to go for it, but am afraid of “raspy” high pitch tones when shifting at WOT as I have an automatic. Thanks for sharing! ✌️👍

      Thanks. I have an auto an it sounds great. I’ve even had someone tell me to take off the other resonator and it doesn’t drone. But I was too chicken to try.

      @@EvolvingMale Sounds like you don't have any offensive high pitched tones or raspy sounds between shifts when running through the gears at wide open throttle then? That's what I want to avoid. Makes me a bit reluctant to remove both the first resonator and muffler. Maybe I'll try just the muffler like you did and see how I like it. Thanks!

    Any drone on the highway? I would love the low end noise, but prefer a quiet ride on the hwy if possible. In previous jeeps, I've used flowmaster 40 series with great results.

    nice! I may do the same. what is the size of your tires and did you have any lift kit installed?

    • @EvolvingMale
      @EvolvingMale  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are 285/75r18. Which are like 35 on that wheel. 35 x 10.5. Lift is an RC 3.5 leveling kit

    Think it sounds great!
    No rasp, no drone.
    Probably as good as you can get. Unless you went with a true dual custom exhaust.
    Most of the aftermarket exhausts that i have heard, are either too loud, and or just sound terrible.
    Thanks for the video!

    Did you buy a pre-fabbed delete pipe or did they custom bend one for you? If you purchased a delete pipe, what brand/part number?

    • @EvolvingMale
      @EvolvingMale  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just took it to a muffler shop and they fit one right on. It was like a 25 minute job. He figured out the bend and did it real quick. It was super cheap, not even worth trying it myself.

    • @Kennadancefighter5664

      Perfect, that is what I was thinking too, just need to find a local bender and hit them up. Sounds great!

      I got the magna flow sounds real nice, not too aggressive. But the pipe part started rusting already. I contacted magna flow haven’t heard back from them yet.

    After two years, have you notice any lagging or error codes?

    • @EvolvingMale

      Nope. It’s perfect. The O2 sensors are up by the Catalytic Converters so no issues
