Just ordered set of T4S for my 2013 fourtrax 420. Hope will have enough power to work with. Almost ordered R4S but in my area where I go there are nice hills to climb and what I have read about R4s they are designed for light slopes . Thanks for showing awesome video , very informative, wish I was mechanically incline as you, first setup I decided to be done by our local dealer but further exchanges and services will do by myself. Videos like yours are very helpful , thanks again.
You will love them. The 420 has more than enough power to turn them. You won't win any races but you will make it to the end. The very first install is the hardest with all the adjustments and bracket installation but from here on out it takes less than 30 min to be back on 4 tires, and vice versa. Thank you for the kind words
I put an older 1st gen brp track kit on my 19 outlander, I had to re engineer the anti rotation and settled on building limiting cables out of 3/16" air craft cable. Several hundred miles later and nothing has gone wrong, my fuel consumption practically doubled but whatevs, shits fun. They do have there limitations but are stupid fun overall.
I bought a new 2020 Phantom Camo Rancher 4×4 manual shift back in June 2020. Ive ridden it 3 times. Mostly gravel roads. Ive put a whopping 60 miles on it in 2 years! 😆 Went to start it the other day and the battery has gone bad already. Wont hold a charge. So now im trying to decide which is the best battery option to go with on it. It sucks they stopped putting pull cord starts on them. Im gonna order one to install on it. I never want to get miles back in the woods and not have a backup starting option. I love Ranchers though. I bought a new orange Rancher 350 the first year they came out back in 2000 or 2001 I think it was. They take a beating and keep going.
Man you are a beast! Lots of information from all your videos , in fact I'm going to build my own version of the power bank box that thing is awesome 🤘🤘🤘 keep em coming
I think you are checking the oil wrong. You are not supposed to screw It back in. Just put it in until the threads touch the case, then pull it out and check it.
Will the insurance tracks work on the solid rear axle im trying to find out what kind I need for my 2015 420 rancher fm2 and I also have a 2008 500 rubicon trail edition also solid rear axle and I don't know what to look for in a good used set of tracks systems for my Hondas if you can please give me some information and maybe a few pictures of the way it hooks up to the rear and front please and thank you for the great video keep them coming 😀
It's post to say IRS this phone is nothing but trouble mine are soild rear axle if you can please let me know so I don't end up buying the wrong ones or miss out on the ones I was interested in but the guy said that they would not work on a solid rear axle his is a IRS and I honestly don't know who to ask for that information
Hey man! Awesome video! I can see from the comments that you moved to Florida, but I still had a question for you :). I am hesitating between the TRX420 manual like yours or the Foreman 520 manual. So although both don't have power steering, which seems fine for you, I was wondering if you would have preferred the extra power of the 520 and the possibility of differential lock?
Well I will say this 1st. It's better to have it and not need it or use it than it is to not have it and need it. A little more power and a dif lock would be nice though this machine does just fine for me and you can always do the poor man's diff lock which is pull on the brake slightly. Power steering would be nice but also I manage.
@@JDSOutdoors Thanks for the reply. I had never heard of that poor man's diff lock but definitely a cool trick if need be. If you would could go back in time, would you still get the 420?
I don't get it. I just bought a set of Camso XS4 tracks for my 2016 Honda Rancher 420 and it comes with additional parts that need to be installed prior to installing the tracks - anti-rotation brackets, stabilizing rods, etc. Do you already have those parts installed on your ATV? The instructions also require re-routing the brake lines in the front - are you doing that? Or, is this just a different set up? Any comments would be appreciated - thanks!
I see you're ready for winter now. But, I"m ready for spring. LOL I enjoy hunting season and trapping season, but I'd rather be crappie fishing in the spring. Just sayin'. LOL
Awesome video! I've got the same quad and was debating the Camso R4S, T4S, and X4S for the Rancher. The dealers keep pushing the R4S but like others, I get some snow where I live and the floatation is better on the wider tracks. After a few seasons with the T4S, how are they preforming? Any maintenance issues? Thanks.
Ended up selling the whole setup almost a year ago but up till then it performed great. No issues at all never got stuck ever even in 6' of snow, driving across rivers etc it was a tank.
Hey great video thanks. I have the exact same machine and have been contemplating the same tracks. What is the actual speed and power loss? My machine goes 50 mph. What can I expect with tracks? Is there still enough power to get you up steep hills in the snow? Thanks
Yes still plenty of power to go up steep hills without issues. My machine also goes 50 on tires and with tracks its 30-35 max. The tracks have gear reduction built in thats what kills the speed.
What’s the total lenght and width of the Rancher with tracks on ? Contemplating getting some for my 2009 Rancher 420 but wondering if it will fit my trailer… Thanks

I’m considering this exact setup. Do you have any issues shifting gears with larger winter boots on?
None at all plenty of room all I wear is boots
Do you think I would have trouble with steering if I don’t have power steering ?
Not at all. I didn't have power steering. It would be nice but not necessary

@@RyanLee-ln1oq anytime.
You didn’t put the oil filter cover back on without inserting the oil filter first, did you?
No the filter went in first and verified the spring was in right. When speed up it looks like its not in there.
Do you ever run a plow on the front with the tracks?
Absolutely here is the video on it.
