Sweet ride! I love it and the color! Thought it was funny that you mentioned gloves in 55 degree weather. 55 degrees is considered a "nice day" up north. :D We will be outside in a t-shirt and sometime shorts.
Haha we’re actually both originally the North East. I’m from upstate NY and she is from Massachusetts! It’s just that 55 on exposed hands when you’re riding feels a lot colder than 55 normally does.
We’re happy to hear!! All the interactions we’ve had with Okai so far have been pretty great too. They even have a dealer and repair place in California!
Thank you for covering all the key things we as consumers want to know; I’ve been eyeing this particular scooter for about a year now (honestly might be longer but hey; I’m indecisive sometimes?) lol - I’m definitely torn between this scooter and their Neon model because I don’t know if this scooter is IP rated to where it can drive in the rain or in snowy conditions; if you get a chance; please give us an update with how it fares in weather conditions. The only thing that stops me from this one is that I live mostly by a highway and that’s how I’d be able to get to work unless I could find a way using backroads here; I’m almost nervous about riding on something like this on a highway of any kind… if you have driven on a highway; hopefully you have some tips for that too? Again; thank you for this video :)
The scooter does okay in the rain. The tires grip well. It’s IP45 rated. Can handle rain but not being submerged. However, def not a good idea to ride on the highway. It only goes 15mph max. However, any place with bike lanes it does very well. Turns beautifully and has a good feel to ride on.
@@onetonkatsu This would be great as a light commuting scooter on back roads but I definitely started eyeing the Turbo Ant line of scooters; they go relatively fast and they have a lot of range. I love the design of the beetle but I want power if I’m going to spend that much money. Thanks for the response! :)
@@bmloveofficial I understand! My wife’s only complaint with the Beetle is that she wishes it went a little faster. Even up to 20mph. The Turbo Ant scooters seem pretty great. I have a Segway ES4. It’s worked well, but I really wish I had went with a different scooter. The solid tires are awful, the breaking isn’t that good, and it already makes a lot of noises while riding because of the cheap plastic parts. Also, Segways customer services has been trash. However, the customer service from Okai has been pretty excellent. I think when it’s time for me to retire me ES4 I’m going to go with an eBike unless Okai comes out with a faster model. As for range, the Beetle range is decent for mid range stuff. But I always say that any scooter is going to get like 70% of what the company says it’ll get. My ES4 is supposed to get 28 miles per charge and I’m lucky if I can get 16 on Sport Mode. Hope you get something you love!!
@@onetonkatsu I’m not sure if it’s faster but OKAI just released a “Pro” version of this model with a 48V battery instead of the 36V on the older model; it gets 34 miles range now comparing to the 25 on this model; it’s a seafoam green color
Well, it says it's rated for riders up to 220lbs. However, I've spoken to multiple riders that are 240+ and have been riding it for months with no issues other than needing to refill the air in the tires more often than normal. The other complaint is that it only gets to about 13-14mph above the 240lb mark.
You have to use the Okai Global app to connect with your phone. There is a QR scan in the manual. However, you can also just “search” for a nearby unpaired scooter with the app. It’s a pretty decent app too with more features coming.
Not sure about the snow. Probably wouldn’t recommend it. However, it does well in the rain. The tires have a decent grip. It’s water resistant and should be fine as long as it’s not submerged or directly sprayed with hard pressure.
I just got one of these today for Christmas and it won't charge or do anything, we tried both ports and had it plugged in for hours and it will not even turn on, we made sur the batter was plugged in and nothing, I am so upset. $700 with tax and the thing won't even turn on!!
@@onetonkatsu I have contacted Okai and they say they are sending me a new charger to see it the charger I received was defective. I really think it is the battery though. I won't know anything untill I receive the new charger and I just talked to them today and they have not yet shipped it as of today. So I wait....

This is the best illustration with lots of valuable information. Thanks!
I think I am going to get one. 😀
My wife still loves it! Still rides it almost daily with basically no issues. It’s great.
Thank you this is very informative I appreciate the information, you touched on all the key points I was looking for. 💖

I ordered one based on your video 🎉🎉🎉 can’t wait 🤩
I hope you love it!! My wife’s is still getting daily use with no issues!
Mine is on the way and I can't wait 😊
I hope you love it!
@@onetonkatsu yes I haven't been able to ride just yet like I want but I tried it out and I really do like it. This is my 1st motor bike/scooter ever!
@@WhereIsJeena mine too!! 2nd day so far so good!
Awesome tutorial!! Thank you!! How long does it take to arrive? Did you order directly from the company? Very interested in this!
Ordered through Amazon and it came in about 4 days. However, folks that I know who have ordered straight from Okai seem to get it in about a week!
Best buy...came in 2 days!
great review !!
Thank you very much. I wish it was more positive, but it is what it is. Thanks for commenting!

@@bmloveofficial now you tell me!!
i need one of these!
It’s a pretty fantastic scooter!
Are you still using this e scooter and how do you like it now?Can you buy parts for it if so where?THANKYOU!
She still uses it often. She hasn’t needed to buy any parts for it, but I’m sure the company has parts!
Hi there how long the battery needs to be charge to be fully charge?
It charges from 0-100 in about 4 hours.
I guess I'll be putting mine on low mode, 15ph scares ts out of me, I thought I was going to die, once my gotrax went on15 on cruise control😩
Tbh, 15mph doesn’t even feel that fast once you’re on it!
Where is that helmet from?
I think we picked that up at WalMart. It’s a Bell brand helmet.
Is it beginners friendly? I never rode a regular scooter in my life let alone an electric one 😂
My wife said it was super easy right away. She’s not someone that normally rode a big, scooter, or anything of the sorts. She loves it.
@@onetonkatsu Great! Then I’m gonna get it then! 🥹

Ugh. How frustrating!
how do you accelerate?
Right handle bar has the throttle....that's how it excellerate
What Jeena said. It’s a roll/rev style throttle that’s super responsive. There’s also a decent cruise control that.
My state 55 degree beautiful
I was raised in upstate NY. Even then, anything under 70° was chilly for me 😂
