I am the Lone Mushroom Lover in my family! Well Granny Pat, you’ve made me hungry, which is a good thing for me. I’m fighting off stage 4 ovarian cancer. It spread to my stomach before I knew, so eating is a challenge too. God still has things for me to do, and my wonderful loving grandchild cares for me, so don’t worry. I am in the best of hands. Your videos have been lifting me up the past week or so since TH-cam kindly put you in my path. I try to watch just such things; positive, uplifting, funny… And your videos wrap me like a hot cup of tea. Thank you
I am so sorry you must suffer with ovarian cancer. Although I have never been attacked by this terrible demon, I have seen it attack my family many times - six sisters, one brother, and both parents. So far, I have managed to. Elude this disease. I, like your many friends, will keep you in my prayers. Even a little humor is sometimes uplifting.
Hi Granny Pat. I happened upon a video of yours a few days ago and have been watching you ever since. I’m Cajun from Southwest Louisiana and cooking is my passion. I can’t cook as much anymore due to having a autoimmune disease Psoriatic Arthritis which causes extreme pain. I really love your stories it brings back memories of my Maw Maw and my childhood. You really remind me of my grandmother so much. All Of your recipes are wonderful and look delicious. I’m so thankful I found your page. You’re a breath of fresh air in this chaotic world. ❤
Oh, my heart… how I miss my grandmothers houses, the meals, and the stories…❤ thank you granny Pat for giving me those same feelings of comfort again. Sending love from NY state.❤
This is actually genius since the carrots cut down the acidity of the tomato sauce by making it slightly sweeter and the celery giving that slight crunch. Looks absolutely delicious!
You're such a sweetheart🙂❤️ I get a kick out of watching you.😀 You're fun. I loved your story. You did a fantastic job feeding everyone. Thanks for sharing😀❤️ Your salad looks good. I'll have to try making it.
Good morning beautiful Gran Gran!!!!!!!! Hope you have a wonderfully blessed day I love spaghetti and homemade sauce and salad is always a nice addition to the meal!!!!!! Sending you love ❤️ hugs and prayers always ✝️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Loved the conversation, Grandma Pat! You have me giggling! Thank God the spaghetti fell in the sink 🤫🫢and not on the floor. Nothing like an understanding and supportive Auntie!😂😂😂😂😂😊❤

Thank you so much Granny Pat for inviting us in your kitchen! On a side note, I bought myself an electric can opener because I have some arthritis in my hand and it changed my world! I love it and recommend it! Take care and blessings to you!
Love your pasta in the sink story. I have a similar cooked carrots at Thanksgiving story. They went back in the pot, rinsed off, reheated and served. Thank you for your stories.
That half can of tomato paste...I put it in a zip lock snack baggie, mark it with what it is and the date, and put it in the freezer. Then it's ready for the next recipe. I am certainly going to try this sauce. I'm not much younger than you, and I love seeing a woman my age cooking on TH-cam.
I’m so invested in your story of when you had all of that company back when you were a newlywed. Where did everyone sit? What did you do for cutlery, plates and glasses? I would have been seriously panicking. When I first got married we lived in a 2 room apartment. Kitchen/living room and bedroom. I can’t imagine what I would have done with all of those people in my tiny apartment.
I can’t recall all the details. I just remember that if my sister in law had known I dumped the spaghetti in the sink, she would never have eaten a bite. The sink was clean.
That's a good video, Granny Pat! My husband an I love spaghetti and we will try your recipe. We live in Knoxville, Tennessee and love your stories, we love you !
This is funny - I didn’t look to see what story you were reading. I read your comment about my adding celery and carrots to spaghetti and thought to myself, “how does she know I just finished making spaghetti and added celery and carrots. (The first time i have made spaghetti since I posted the recipe). As I took my next bite, I looked up and spotted the title of my post, ‘Family spaghetti recipe’.
Thank you for having your things cut up first….but I also understand that not every viewer knows how to prep and cook. I’ve never had carrot or celery in any spaghetti sauce, but I will try it. Your salad sounds yummy. I think we all have had that 1 important dinner we want to impress and have issues with one thing or another. Another great chat, Granny Pat!
I put the leftover paste into a small plastic sandwich bag and spread it out thin, and freeze it. It's always ready and also very good in a pot of Chicken or beef noodle soup, just a tablespoon. Gives it a lot of extra flavor.
Granny Pat...l think you are everyone's granny you are a gem thank you for being soo natural so real! And like you l being Southern don't measure if you're a half cook you know😅😅 35:53

For the tomato paste, I put 1 tablespoon in each square of an ice cube tray and freeze them. Once they're frozen just store in a freezer bag or whatever you want to use and keep frozen for the next recipe. I like to spread it on top of cabbage rolls before they go in the oven. Makes them extra tasty!

Granny Pat they have tomato paste in a tube so you can squeeze out what you want and then put the lid on or you can freeze the half of the tomato paste from the can for later. Looking forward to another cooking video soon Granny Pat. Have a great night.
