I just retired from being a trucking instructor. If you were in a 18 wheeler the accident would have been your fault because you turned from the wrong lane. All multiple lane turns in an 18 wheeler must be made from the furthest right lane. I bet that hot shot driver has a CDL but he should have been in his mirrors following his trailer all the way thru. He was in the correct lane. But If he was a true professional he would not have hit you. Don’t take offense to him not saying “My Bad” or “I’m sorry” They are trained to never admit guilt. Good Luck with the insurance company. You may have to lawyer up. Get a dash cam. I go nowhere without one. I love your videos. On SS at my full retirement age because that was best for me. I have an F150 and TT living full time mostly in Texas.
On those tight 2 lane left turns, the inside lane has to give way to the outside lane, especially when they have a trailer. Since you hit his trailer , he must have been in front of you. If everyone on the left just kept coming as they pleased the outside lane would never be able to complete the turn. The proper thing to do is hold back at the rear of their trailer as they complete the turn.
Tim I am so sorry about what happened to your beautiful truck. 😢 I am glad you weren’t hurt. By the way, I would report it to his Insurance Company first so you might not have to make a claim against your own insurance. I used to be a Claims Adjuster in the late 90’s and early 2000. The Adjuster should be able to tell that the damage is to your right front bumper where the other vehicle hit you. I would make sure they get a copy of the police report you made so when they contact the claimant to get a statement they will already have the police report. If you have already reported it to your Insurance then when the Companies settle the claim if you are determined not at fault at all you can ask your Insurance Adjuster to close the claim as due to not at fault so it want be counted as a claim against your insurance. At least this is the way we used to handle ours when the other insured was at 100% fault and their insurance had to handle our insureds claim.

Hi Tim, so sorry about your truck damage. Before our last trip from NH to NC (truck and 25' travel trailer) I invested in a good dash cam, it has wide angle front view so it records all of the front/side activity. It records 24 hours before over writing previous 24 hours. While not perfect 360, it made us feel a lot more secure when traveling. Thankfully we had no issues. Going to purchase a 2nd for my suv. Btw, LOVE your flagstaff, thinking about trading up to it this spring.

My man TIM, you can’t keep a good man down!!! You can repair The Crusher, but you can’t replace your life!! Glad you slept well and you came out of this accident unscathed! TIME TO CRUSH IT 💪🏾
Tim sorry about your accident but glad you're in one piece. I get these funny feelings in my gut that just appears, with jumpy feelings about you. Take care. The blood of Jesus covers you.
I see it quite a lot , drivers pulling a trailer and forget they are pulling a trailer and cause problems . I see them turning left into on coming traffic and I see it and say wow, almost a major accident.
The crusher got crushed, why are you moving around so much, it's like you are afraid to stay in one place what kind of life is that no woman wants to live like that.
Lol. And do what? Stare at each other lol. Never let a woman guide your life. And its not because a woman doesn't make good decisions, it's because she makes decisions that are right for her. If you let her guide you, in the end, you will be full of regret, and she will probably leave you by then. Lol. No woman respects a man that does everything she says.
I agree with you Tim, looks like he was definitely trying to leave the scene as he knows he hit you… I would suggest next time you stay on the outside 2 lane and turn ,so no one it next to you … he still could have slowed down a bit as he could definitely see you … my perspective… I’m so glad you got him 😊 let me tell you I too would have tried to chase him… most of all I’m glad you’re okay.
Once, a long time ago, I was in my car turning left, AND the idiot on my right decided to also turn left. There was only one left turn lane, so the other vehicle was definitely wrong. I barely escaped a collision. From that day on, I always look over my right shoulder when turning left. ALWAYS. That incident was so close to a disaster, and looking while turning has become a habit.
This is why I have a dash cam and bought them for all my kids. Without witnesses, which most accidents do not have, the insurance company will often give a percentage of blame to both parties.
And that folks is why you stay away from trucks with trailer, always foresee a problem with other drivers. Good luck getting his insurance to pay 100%, it’s going to be your word over his, I bet he claims he didn’t do anything. Tim you may want to invest in cameras, seems this is the only way to get insurance companies to 100%.
I know exactly where you're talking about, because I stop at that Buc-ee's every time I go north. It's a tight turn for two people towing something. And then one lane ends pretty quick.
Hopefully you had or will have a dash cam to prove things when auto accidents happen like this Tim. I bought an inexpensive one at Walmart once when they were 20 bucks which lasted about 6 months. I know have an Escort combination radar detector-dashcam which was expensive.....but worth it to me. Hope you have safe travels Tim!
Tim, get yourself a dash cam. They’re $35-$50 and can prove your innocence. I have them in all vehicles. You should come to Coral Sands Inn RV park in Ormond Beach. That’s where we are it’s right on the ocean. Beautiful site.
Guy was smart to not talk and admit anything. It may end up that you both fix your own vehicle and he will not be found at fault. Heck, he may try to sue you. Good to have your story on video in case you need to remember something way later. . Good luck.
Haven’t read your comments, but my input is to use the GEICO referral body shops. Ive had the same insurance with GEICO for 5 yrs and I trust their services and recommendations!
Hi Tim. My husband & I live in NW Arkansas. He is 65 & I am 64. This happened to me in 2012…I consider myself a pretty good driver…I’m always looking out for the other guy in my 3 mirrors out there driving even behind me. I was driving in Fayetteville, AR & I could see this mini van driving really fast…so I got in the middle turning lane & in the slow lane was a very heavy duty pickup…this speeding van was driving fast & crazy…he went down the side of my mini van & hit that heavy duty truck…he kept going…I got back in the fast lane & rolled down my passenger window to get the man’s attention that we both had been hit & we both raced ahead & got this van to pull over! I called the police & found out that wasn’t his van & he didn’t have a drivers license…he was arrested right there. He had done more damage to his friends van (which didn’t have insurance) than to mine or that truck. He said that the gas pedal got stuck & the brakes hardly worked on the van! He had a guy friend with him. The man in the truck had his wife with him & I was by myself. If I hadn’t been watching my rear view mirror…. he would have rear ended me!! Now that this area has grown so much….traffic is unreal here! My husband & I have lived in this area all of our lives…except for Houston, TX for a couple of years. And my parents lived in Dallas, TX area for 3 years when I was 4, 5 & 6. Started school there. We always have to watch out for the other guy out there! It’s like an obstacle course!!!😳😵💫
You don't have to be a "expert" to observe ST driving both his truck+ his truck with Trailer attached( combination vehicle) with no hands on steering wheel/ eyes up on camera + not road/ etc. It is what it is...
Tim, I can feel your frustration when folks simply ignore what happened in a traffic incident, especially when they are responsible. I had a large pick up truck parked next to me onetime, the wind caught his door and the door really damaged the side of my vehicle. The truck owner didn't acknowledge what happened and we both seen what happened. The pick up truck owner became very agitated and angry when I attempted to discuss the situation. I chose to just leave. $600.00 repair bill. I did call the police and they simply said it was private property so you can either go to small claims court and or file a claim with your insurance company.
A similar thing happened to me in a parking lot ! the truck backed into my Subaru what I thought was clearly his fault Actually the officer never gave anyone a ticket, so my insurance company would not fix my vehicle!
In these circumstances, I think Tim's insurance co will foot the bill. Insurance companies work with each other and won't spend their time haggling about who's to blame, especially in a knock 4 knock case where there were no injuries, witnesses or dash cam evidence to support the claim. It will all work out just fine. Stay safe Tim!
Insurance companies instruct their insureds NOT to admit guilt, etc. It's not surprising he didn't admit anything to you. If both individuals had some culpability (insurance company will determine this), then your insurance will pay for your damage and his will pay for his damage. Like others have posted, if you're towing something, never ever go to the inside turn lane if turning left. Bad things always happen in that turn lane.
I feel for you I had a tractor trailer driver do the same thing to me. He hit the driver side back corner of my new truck camper.Had to chase he down to.
Well that stinks, I’m so happy they didn’t hit the RV. I have a suggestion for the future, get a dash cam, front and rear. I have them in my vehicle and if I would have had it when I got hit the insurance company would have seen exactly how and when the guy was driving when he hit me…. A bonus is that you will have an extra camera videoing for your channel. Glad you’re safe.
First I would never ever wish bad things on you. But the way you just have to over explain stuff like this the way you do and why you feel a need to is mind boggling. Stay safe.
It's sad that you have to chase someone down who ran into your truck. He says he didn't hit your truck and he denied it, but his blue hitch told a different story. Glad you were able to call the cops and get it on paper. You could clearly see the damage on his hauler hitch. Some people will not admit guilt no matter what! Good thing you brought it to his attention and let him see the damage to his hitch and your vehicle.
There may be aftermarket bumpers out there ? Or, non OEM bumpers ? Save ya some money. Even junkyards might have something like that ? And, there's always the possibility of repair ?
ST Sorry to hear about your mishap crusher getting crushed. People are mentioning dashcams. Would an old phone work as a dashcam without having to purchase a new one? Most ppl replace their phones with upgrades. Just wondering.
You should get a few cameras around your trailer and truck to record while driving and parked too. Nomadic fanatic had a bunch of them on his RV. Never know what's.going to happen out there in the wild.
Tim I watched your video sorry to hear about your accident. Some people really suck . They never take responsibility for their actions. Looking at your set up it appears you need more tongue weight , it looks like the front is a little higher than the back of your trailer. It just might look like that on the video but I would check it because that really affects the way it handles .
Insurance will say you are 50% at fault just for being there! They will jack your rates now You should always turn on the outside lane with a trailer Tim
Glad you are ok! However, GEICO insurance is a total rip off! Shop your vehicles with a broker and I guarantee you’ll have much cheaper rates! You will end up filing the claim on your insurance, sorry to say but very very true! I worked for GEICO when attending college!
Tim, Same thing happened to me after my accident. I was stopped, and a young kid rear ended me. He got out and told me that I caused the accident. I asked him, did you have the brakes on and were you speeding? He said he had the brakes on and I caused the accident. Insurance found him at fault as he rear ended me. People don't care anymore. They drive how they want. Then we all pay higher insurance to cover these dangerous drivers. Hope your vehicle gets fixed soon.
One can do a quick stop and if rear ended, it's still the rear enders fault (not enough following distance, not attentive, faulty brakes). Unfortunately, insurance doesn't see that a lot of times.
@@hookem7030 No offense, nice story. I was stopped completely both times I was rear ended. I did not stop quick or brake check anyone, I was at a traffic light one time and an intersection another time, completely stopped.
Tim give God thanks that it wasn’t worse. Remember we are in the days that the Bible says people will grow cold. It can be hard at times but remember Jesus Christ suffered for us. Try to keep things from God’s perspective. Praying for you Tim🙏🏻😊
Dash cams are cheap and provide continuous video. Great to have if you were not the cause of the accident. Otherwise the insurance company might say, “You can’t believe a word that Sarasota Tim says!”.
Glad not any more damage than what you have. People are careless. Accidents will happen. Insurance will take care of it. It’s unfortunate it happened but try to enjoy your trip/weekend.

My man TIM, you can’t keep a good man down!!! You can repair The Crusher, but you can’t replace your life!! Glad you slept well and you came out of this accident unscathed! TIME TO CRUSH IT 💪🏾
So sorry to see your truck! Hope your eye is ok!
What do you mean? Tim is by himself.
How did you come up with that joke? You should do standup comedy just so funny
@@Iceman5555 Like Walmart and Cracker Barrel parking lots?? LOL
Only cosmetic damage so you’re lucky there. Will be good as new once bumper is replaced. Try not to look at it! Beautiful Tundra!
Either way what a jerk. Tim you handled it better than I would have. Glad your safe!
The other driver sounds like a jerk. Be careful out there driving next to other trailers and trucks, never be too careful.
He was mad that you tracked him down. He was hoping to get away with it.
Hi @SarasotaTim - Sorry to see the fender bender. You’ll have it looking good as new no time. Safe travels buddy.
I’m glad you’re ok, enjoy your journey.
There sure are a lot of experts on here giving advice on living a life that is not theirs, and a wreck they did not see happen.
You don't have to be a "expert" to observe ST driving both his truck+ his truck with Trailer attached( combination vehicle) with no hands on steering wheel/ eyes up on camera + not road/ etc.
It is what it is...
We all can agree on is dash cams and other surveillance to record what happens is necessary on the road.
Sorry to see the damage to the crusher.
Head back to teddys, seems like a safe spot. The weather should change in a couple of months, hard lesson to learn, stay safe
I hope you took pictures of the marks on his vehicle too...What a jerk. It'll be perfect again when they fix it.
Sorry to hear about your inconvenience. Hopefully it all works out for you.
I thought you just got settled in Jacksonville. What's up with that?
Taking a trip to Tampa RV show I believe he said
Said he is going to see his eye doctor.
Hard to keep up with…”settled” is not in his mindset….on the road again
He probably never pulled a trailer before
Insurance companies instruct their insureds NOT to admit guilt, etc.
The Crusher may want a "SOLID CHROME BUMPER" also check out your TIRE for any damage..✝️🛐
Always take the outside lane when possible when towing a trailer.
Time for a Dashcam, I have 3 fender benders on camera that saved me from being at fault. I have a ROAV, and it works flawlessly..
There may be aftermarket bumpers out there ? Or, non OEM bumpers ? Save ya some money. Even junkyards might have something like that ? And, there's always the possibility of repair ?
Sleep is the best medicine.
ST Sorry to hear about your mishap crusher getting crushed.
People are mentioning dashcams. Would an old phone work as a dashcam without having to purchase a new one? Most ppl replace their phones with upgrades. Just wondering.
thank goodness the rude totally at fault guy didn't hit the crasher too.
Love the short pants!! Keep crushing it !
Can you give us a link for that fan?
Glad you’re OK!
They probably can bend that fender / bumper back
Hey, brother. Incredible the way people behave. You handled it quite well. God Bless.
You should get a few cameras around your trailer and truck to record while driving and parked too. Nomadic fanatic had a bunch of them on his RV. Never know what's.going to happen out there in the wild.
Keep on keepin on.
😢😢😢 Maybe you need to rename your truck to the "cruncher" lol
Sorry for your grief.
They will jack your rates now
You should always turn on the outside lane with a trailer Tim
@@gerilanderos6283 Then why do you watch this channel and comment on it? This is a TH-camr who is Vlogging their life.
@@mikecoffee288 wow! That's a scary, defenseless situation. Around here in Texas, it'd be time to call "The Hammer" (attorney)
glad you're o.k.
Sucks. Sorry Tim…
Tim give God thanks that it wasn’t worse. Remember we are in the days that the Bible says people will grow cold. It can be hard at times but remember Jesus Christ suffered for us. Try to keep things from God’s perspective. Praying for you Tim🙏🏻😊
You need a DASH CAM NOW!!
Always use back bucees entrance
What a jerk! It's bad enough that he hit you but then to have an attitude makes it even worse. I hope you have safe travels from here on.
Dash cams are cheap and provide continuous video. Great to have if you were not the cause of the accident. Otherwise the insurance company might say, “You can’t believe a word that Sarasota Tim says!”.
He will probably lose his job, if he’s driving commercially
Tim, you ran into one those famous "Florida Man" guys.
Glad not any more damage than what you have. People are careless. Accidents will happen. Insurance will take care of it. It’s unfortunate it happened but try to enjoy your trip/weekend.
I must say, you handled that situation better than i would have. I have a very low tolerance for butt holes now a days.
