"Tex-pose" means to bury the tip of the hook in the bait a little. Expose means to leave it, well...exposed.

Mike, great tip on using egg sinkers in this application! I can't believe what a difference it makes. Sometimes I prefer using lead because it's softer than tungsten and you get break it free from getting wedged in rocks.

Hi Mike great in-depth series on the Tokyo Rig. What about the Gika/Jika Rig? Seems like a more finesse version of the Tokyo Rig. From what I have read the Jika Rig came out first.

Mike, I don't know if it was hindering or helping but I altered my homemade Tokyo rigs. Originally I had made them with beads for noise but after watching your videos, I removed the beads and went with just the weight.

Question: Can you use this with live bait? Like minnows? Have a lot of stripers in my lake which is very clear and deep. Like 55 ft at my dock.

Would your delay rod from Abu Garcia be better for this vs a standard graphite rod?

How about rigging this with a Berkeley general max scent?

Love this series. Is it possible for VMC to make a Tokyo Rig with rattles built on? Not sure how it would be done, but I often find myself wishing I could add a little more noise.

Buy some small glass rattles and insert them into your plastics.

@@FishingThePNW I like using Elaztech on Tokyo rigs. Glass rattles affect the buoyancy.

The only thing I see wrong with these is if I'm deep water fishing I'm expecting to catch big fish, the swivels on these no matter what size the hook have tiny swivels on them,I personally don't trust that it can handle any kind of heavy weight. If I'm fishing a big hook I need a bigger swivel.
